Waiting for mine to ship. I'm going to be using my other laser to cut some jigs for each specific item that I plan on using this for, so I never have to worry about placement. Since the bottom plate comes off for pass through engraving, it's perfect for individual jig cards. Just place one in for whatever product I'm doing. Plan on making some for the slider extension too. Just need everything to arrive first so I can do measurements and tests. Ordered it may 22nd and the first payment is already due, but it hasn't even been shipped yet lol. Hopefully I will receive it before the end of July.

Hello, nice video! I have questions about the slide extension: Do I have to carry out the calibration every time the extension is installed and I use the F1 without it? and my 2nd question! If there are, for example, 4 coasters in the xcs, do I have to align them exactly and then measure exactly this distance on the extension and then align them? Sorry, I'm a beginner with the F1. best regards from Dortmund/Germany

They need to make a turntable, too. For pens etc. A radial table like on fiber lasers.

why do you have to use the paint when etching the glass?

Will it engrave on clear acrylic?

I just recently purchased this to try my hand at laser marking and engraving with the rotary tool. Would the be able to make a durable marking on stainless steel tumblers?

It took about an hour. This was at a high DPI, if you were to drop the DPI, of course less detail, it would go much faster. Hope people will benefit from the glass etching tip 👍

Ok looked awesome but have a couple of questions 1 what is the reason for painting exactly and 2 have you done any tumblers or coffe mugs

For engraving glass you need an interface layer. Tempura paint is one of the easiest methods. Yes, I have done mugs and tumblers. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

That's good do you have any videos doing some and if not could you make a video I would love to see it do tumblers and I glanced quickly through your videos and didn't see any

Does the paint type matter? I have acrylic, wondering if the point is just to make the glass black, or if the tempura paint has a special chemical

I just found that Tempura paint is the easiest. It just washes off with hot water. If you go with too much power the etching can get slightly black. I would thin it out, and don’t use a brush. Brushes are a pain, they leave an uneven surface with small gaps. Just dip it like I did, and let the extra run off. Or you can pour it over the glass and tilt the glass and let the extra run off. I haven’t tried Tempura paint with clear acrylic, as that might make the etching slightly black.

A slider for a Fiber Laser. How Cool is that. One of these days I hope to get or review a fiber laser. Great idea,dipping in the paint.

100% true! I have a portable air brush kit, and do that as well. However, this was for the people that do not. Very easy, and you can just seal the container and use it whenever you want.

Muse Titan 90w co2 Chinese co2 60 w Epilog Zing 40watt Gas bought but haven’t received my F1 yet. I’ve etched glass on both the Zing and Chinese co2. I have found that the etched field can have something of a minute texture. When you answered another commenter about it being an interference layer? Is the texture more smooth, uniform? @@TripodsGarage
