XTOOL D9 Review
Ғылым және технология
I purchased the XTool D9 to see the diagnosis of my vehicles. Choosing was down to price and features. They seem to do an excellent job on bugs and keep updating to get it rounded out.

I would not spend to much on a tool like this. Today you need a tool that can program modules is a big deal. This is a good tool to learn on. I have a D8. Really after the 3 years updates it time to buy a new scan tool. Scan tools are like computers they are outdated by the time you get it. After 3 years there will be something better you will need. So after 3 years with free updates after that time to find another scan tool. You almost need 3 kinds of scan tools one does not do it all these days.
Now that you have had time to work with D9, do you find anything it would not do for you? Also are you sorry you didn't pony up the additional bucks for the D9 Pro. Also, if you don't pay the update fee at the end of the 3 year mark would you still be able to update say after maybe 5 years or so? Cannot find out any info on the update policies. Thanks for a great review!

So far it has done everything I wanted it too. I am not sorry for getting the D9 pro at this time. I sent them an email about your update question and will post it once they get back to me.

Thanks for your quick answer, are you able to connect the BT unit directly to the D9 in case of BT unit battery failure like you can with the D9 Pro? If so I think im going with the D9 as well, better bang for the buck, Cheers!

@@danm2768 Yes, you can connect the VCI (bt unit) directly with cord you can also plug it in direct to the wall or 12v battery if needed with the adapters include. I have plugged it in to the wall to check it was all working and updating firmware.

Here is XTool response to updates. "Thanks for your inquiry! In fact, D9 comes with 2-Year warranty and 3-Year free software updates. Three years later, the previously downloaded and upgraded software packages can still be used, but the latest software packages cannot be obtained. If you want to update the software after 5 years, then you only need to spend $299 per year, and there is no need to calculate the fee for the years between."

Please help me to find out how I can view total drive distance on my D9? Do I need to update from the site?

@@GrayaOverload At #120 on the list it showed "total drive distance" that's what's missing from mine and would like to have the update to populate that info.

@@adriananthony7919 Might also depend on what you vehicle you have as well. They have different information that that tool will read off of the computers. That for me is the odometer distance. I notice a different in data between each vehicle I plug the tool into. It could also be under a different module. If you have create a report, and open that then you can see it under mileage, in the vehicle information.

When you first do an auto scan on a vehicle a screen will come up that shows the vehicle data. The miles driven, as stored in the ECM should display there. It also shows up on some vehicles under Live Data.
How can I buy sir?

I got it off amazon from their xtool store.
We have been testing the d9 pro in our workshop for the last month. I can honestly say it's complete garbage, 80% of the special functions don't work. Lots of functions that try to work dont complete the job correctly. we have literally just sent the tool back. it's that bad. Support is useless as well, If you need a professional tool, do not buy this tool. Look at autel or launch tools instead.

Thanks for the information. Help out as I am not in your location. I only have used this on US vehicles, and the special function I used were working. Surprised with how bad support is as they were great for me, that is good feedback as in my opinion they need to treat everyone the same or it create a very negative product.

@GrayaOverload no problem, I wish I had seen honest feedback before I purchased. Most reviews on KZread are just fake news, in my opinion, trying to advertise the tool as good when it's terrible in my experience. I believe most reviewers of this tool on KZread have been given the tool for free, so will give a big shout-out for xtool saying how great it is because they just got a free tool! when really it's not been properly tested in a workshop environment. For an amateur at home, maybe this tool would be ok, for a professional workshop, not a chance.

I do appreciate it as I don't have a shop and I only have access to a certain number of cars here in the US. I did have to buy my tool. When you update the tool you see there are different downloads not only for different manufactures but different locations. I do wonder how good each one. That is why I enjoy comments like this. Your comments might also help them pick it up.
