Love the build. Makes me want a XSR now. Your house / garage also looks sweet.

I love the Truxton, rode one in the desert with the full cafe cowl and had a grin on my face the whole time. But its not an everyday bike to my opinion. Check out the new Trident, probably my next bike: www.triumph-motorcycles.ca/motorcycles/roadsters/trident
I see a project bike in my future, if the economy hold out.
Nice bike.

Awesome XSR! Probably wont modify mine this much but the TKCs will probably be my next change once the Phantoms run out. Great job man, bike looks sick!

Oh and also the headlight needs to be fixed but im not sure I want to spend 600 on a Led.. did you ever think of getting the XSR 900 casing? Think I might go that route instead to get it more compact, not sure yet.

@@Skuglyft thx dude! Gosh what were they thinking when they designed that headlight bucket! The cheapest way to go is to get the bucket and brackets only from Brogue, then source out your own 7" lamp (some really cheap ones on amazon that will do the trick). www.broguemotorcycles.com/xsr700-parts/xsr700-complete-led-headlight-builder-kit

Definitely a nice touch! 👌 would you know where I can get a front wheel stand like that too?
What tires are those? Did you put them on the stock rim? And did you have any trouble with the fitment? I’m starting mine now, I have the Brogue headlight and NRC tail tidy but I kind of like the way yours looks with the single seat and the fender. I don’t think the fender looks good on the stock seat, but the way you did it looks rad. I hate that all the good mods for this bike are crazy expensive, that brogue headlight cost me like 600 bucks shipped. I’m going SC project as well, it’s the only option for this motorcycle IMO. Lovely bike!
@Lou-xd9ef

Heyy Chris nice man you're building your XSR! Ya the freakin headlight sure are expensive, seems like too much. The tires are Continental TKC80, went with stock size and fits perfectly and there's zero vibration, its like riding slicks except at very low speed you can feel the knobs a bit. I agree the fenders look like shit on the stock bike, the headlight bucket is terrible too, lots of things to address which is the fun part. I have another vid on my detailed build if you wish to learn more about the seat kit. Happy mods galore.
Very nicely done mate. 👌 Where'd you get the windshield? How do you like the performance /feel of the nobby tires?
@Lou-xd9ef
4 жыл бұрын
Thx Nate. Bike is so smooth and quick, even with the TKC's, no vibrations whatsoever. Actually kinda of a bad thing, really makes you go faster. Here's the link for the Dart flyscreens, I got both the tall one and the shorty and I swap: www.dartflyscreens.com/collections/yamaha-xsr700
Sounds sooo much better than the 900

Ah no way. Actually now that I did the Booster Plug and the air filter it sounds even better, WAY better actually. The chip is a must do mod.

Hello, I have the 2022 model, but I have problems with the wind. How tall are you and does the windshield you have installed work? What are the speeds you can use comfortably? I'm asking for comparison with myself.
Hi Lou, thanks for the video. You've done a great job on this bike, looks badass! I have an XSR700 and have added and changed a load of parts over the last couple of months to make it more personalised and the next project I was looking at is the headlight. I sourced an aftermarket LED and wired it up but it didn't fit well in the housing so I'm back to the drawing board. I then started looking at the Koso headlight you have installed here and wanted to know if this headlight would fit on the stock brackets or whether you need aftermarket brackets to install this headlight? Also, is it a simple plug and play 3 pin Yamaha connector from the headlamp? Great looking bike man, enjoy the ride!
@Lou-xd9ef
4 жыл бұрын
Good on you Keith! I have another video with all the parts link. I got the Koso from Brogue, and they have the custom bracket for it as well. Plug and play. I would recommend doing the housing kit from them, then you could drop your new bulb in. www.broguemotorcycles.com/xsr700-parts
@ChrisDavis333

JVB Moto or Brogue are the only 2 headlights you should be looking at, as far as the brackets go mine was included, but they offer shorter ones which I think is the best bet it makes it a little cleaner and helps hide any unsightly wiring. Good luck.
@Lou-xd9ef
4 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisDavis333 I'm curious about the JVB headlight, I think the look is more baddass in the end, than the Koso. A little regret here.
Which wind screens are you using? I like the low one but if there is a taller one that would be awesome. I live in Atlanta Georgia and there are a lot of freeways here so anything to make the wind less would be awesome. Nice looking bike though. I love mine

Hey lou now that you’ve had the tkc80s for a few months have you noticed them wear down quickly? I hear they’re great tires but don’t last very long with road use
@Lou-xd9ef
3 жыл бұрын
I love the looks and safety of them, especially where I live (crazy driveway). But I do agree they dont last long and it is getting annoying. So much that my girlfriend is switching back to Pirelli MT60's. They wabble once they are at 3/4 wear as well which is another bummer.
Why don’t they make a dope ass sc project like this for the xsr900?
How is that front fender after the nobbies are caked in mud? It looks really close to the tire
@Lou-xd9ef

Guess will find out! So far so good but then again its not like i'm going "mud bogging" with the XSR, I prefer my KTM for mud season ;)
Hi ! Very nice job man ! Do you have a good grip on the road with those tires ? Don't they scare you sometimes ?
@Lou-xd9ef
4 жыл бұрын
Thx dude! Quite the opposite actually, those tires make me feel safer because I know if there's sand, dirt, loose rocks in a corner the TKC's will save my ass. They are SO smooth at speed they feel like slicks. There's a reason why the guys that do 10 000km touring trips use those, they are da bomb. I also use them offroad, will do a vid on them soon.
