These glasses, a steam deck, and a wireless xbox controller would be bliss. Since we're living in a dystopia, we might as well embrace the cool gadgets coming out of it.

Seems half baked without a clear use case. You could use it on your steam deck or you could just use the steam deck screen without having this over your face and plugged in with a display constantly covering your view. Google glass is better than this and that’s been dead for 11 years.

I can't speak on these but using the viture glasses with Samsung dex on my phone has been a game changer since the phones screens turns into a mouse pad. I've been able to actually work remotely with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse paired to my phone which allows me to remote in to my MacBook or Windows computer without the need to even have either with me. I'm blind as a bat without glasses or contacts but not wearing either using the viture with the diopter to adjust to my vision is Crystal clear. Personally for me viture was the best choice.

Never tried and visual stuff (VR , AR , 3D , ect .. ) so this will be my 1st experience with this type of technology .. I don't really have any particular expectations, just want to try something different and relatively new , possibly up and coming future tech , that may be mainstream one day .. Look at cell phones now , the glass can fold with the phone 🤳🏾 .. Look at earbuds and headphones, they are totally wireless now .. One day these glasses will probably be totally wireless .. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out .. praying I live to see the day .. I love tech 🎄👍🏾😁🙏🏾🎄

I find this kind of device very isolating. I wonder what the experience would be like if you only had a display over one eye, and the other would see the external world. I did some basic experiments and found that it is pretty easy to mostly ignore one of your eyes input, so you can choose to pay attention to the monitor or to the real world allowing normal conversations and interactions as if you were wearing an eyepatch. I imagine the monitors are most of the cost, of the device, so it would be cheaper, or you could use a 1080p instead of a 720p. It would use ½ as much battery.

Yes, I have the nReal Air glasses (without the beam, that didn't exist when I bought the nReal version of these). I would like an option, like beam that could throw to multiple outputs. My wife and I travel together most of the time and we generally share content that we are watching. It would be nice if we could have two outputs from the beam to support two glasses. I supposed that would require a bigger battery (more space and weight), but it would be worth it to me.

So I just ordered the Vision Pro and am counting down the days; there are 3 more days till the party can begin. Interestingly, I can vouch that I had something like these XReal Air 2 Pros in 1995. I have long lost them and don't even remember the name of the VR System, but it did cost me $899 from Frys Electronics. It only had about three games, and you had to plug it in through the DVI port of a big desktop. It did allow me to watch TV or Video via composite IN/OUT on a simulated 80-inch screen. I might do some research and see if I can find out what the name of that device was.

@@AndrewCCM you don't have to get the Beam. You could get their adaptor, it's like $50 or so. It's a powered hdmi to usb-c converter. I was actually trying to avoid using this even tho I have it by connecting my wire directly to the source. It just depends on what you're trying to hook up. Game consoles usually has usb ports so you should be fine. The switch would need a dock tho and I have a mini one that is also a power adapter. If you want something portable then you would need a USB-C adaptor with hdmi or DP out. You would course need an hmdi or DP to usb-c wire tho. I have the Beam also and they finally added apps to it. I just wish there was a way for us to add our own without it possibly disappearing with the next update. It kinda sucks that you can't stop any updates as well.

I felt the same, bought these when they were called the NReal Air glasses and had the HDMI adapter and while to have such a large screen somewhat pocketable, the best use case right now for these is entertainment, movies, gaming from ur phone or tablet. I had finicking connection issues with my Switch. Great for COD mobile and game streaming from my iPad. I also tried working, I do software engineering so I’m reading lots of detailed code, and while using them was manageable, I wouldn’t recommend it for longer than 2-4 hr sessions due to eye strain. I’ve seen reviews using the Nebula app for extended desktops and the ability to anchor the screens rather than following u, but it still feels like 1. U are glued to ur workstation and 2. This is a luxury item that isn’t absolutely necessary for getting ur work done.

Like a 32" display feels huge if up close to our face while a 100" display can still feel small at a distance of say 10m. Does the 320" at 10m really feel huge? The screen is really about 1" but the marketing material I've seen claims it appears to be a 210" screen viewed from 6 meters away. So the 130" is probably at 4 meters, and the 330 is about 9 meters. Those numbers didn't clarify anything for me, so I did the math and figured it would look the same size as my computer monitor from 2' away, and my laptop screen from 18". Basically it will look like a normal size screen at a normal viewing distance.

Public radiation safety limit is 1000uSv per year so you'd be 2.9x that. Your mother was right. It wasn't good for you. Also flicker and way image was drawn on CRTs wasnt good for eyes either.

Was utterly disappointed with the Pro 2, got the Beam with it. I was not prepared to have really tight horizontal boundaries/borders that kill immersion for me. Move your head slightly left or right and the sides of the screen cut off. You also have to keep fiddling with the nose adjustment to get the picture perfect. Massively overrated, so if you do purchase go in expecting the worst and you'll be ok.

There's zero need for the glasses to be wireless from the source device because the experience won't be great even with mmWave technology. Glasses like these will eventually be STAND-ALONE like a Quest 3 headset. Technical will keep improving over time.

Everyone says the same thing. It’s good for movies. With most of these glasses there is a lack of clarity farther from the center of the monitors. So, text is less legible. He’s not talking about that at all which robs validity from a lot of what he’s saying. This means they’re garbage for productivity. Almost no one even talks about that entire use case other than to say … it can be your computer monitor system. This tells me they’re doing rushed, poor reviews (or they're intentionally not speaking about product weaknesses). The clarity issue is also a huge problem in some games because some games have text that you need to be able to read that isn’t only in the center of the screen. Most reviewers don’t talk about this at all (which tells me they’re not using the device for long or on many different games). For some games this would work for it great. For movies it’s pretty much ideal, especially with good headphones. Another thing they don’t talk about is the screen size and what that really amounts to. They’ll say “120 inch screen!” But, a 120 inch screen 50ft away won’t feel large. It’s a given screen size AT a given distance. For most of these glasses a 27inch monitor 24 inches (2ft) from your face is as big or bigger than the monitors they use (there’s simple high school level math for this kind of comparison). Check fine print on these … you’ll see “120 inches at 9ft” or something like that.
