Ah Campbelltown, my old stomping ground. I recently took the Dubbo XPT from Central to Tarana. At 186cm I found the legroom wasn't great, though at least my knees weren't up against the seat in front, I was in first class, and because I couldn't stretch my legs out they did become a little cramped. I also found after about an hour I did get a sore bum, and just couldn't find a comfy position. If that was 3 hours wroth, I'd hate to imagine what it'd be like on the 12 hour run to Melbourne. A lounge car, like they used to have, would certainly make the trip more enjoyable.

Yeah I Agree! I didn’t like sitting down in a seat that is basically economy on an aircraft for 11 Hours (Because I Got On At Campbelltown) I wish I booked the sleeper cabins

@@ProfessorLocomotive I considered the sleeper, but then found out I'm taller than the bed is long (bed is 185cm long), so no go for me haha, plus sharing with a stranger unless I forked out for the entire cabin, no thanks.

@@arokh72 You would only need to bend your legs slightly which comes naturally when sleeping on your side. Perhaps you dislike laying on your side so fair enough.

I don’t think this is a daysitter, because a “Daysitter” is the cabins.

When I booked the XPT, the ticket told app told me that my seat was the “Day Sitter”. I never got the cabin

Yeah, it says on the outside of Car A `First Class Sleeper & Day Sitter'

I was on the Xplorer you passed just after Douglas park

This is an ordinary first class seat, not the day sitter compartments, which are car A only.

Nice video ..... but ..... it gives the impression that the train only gets up to 20 mph since you film only the approaches to and departures from the stations which does illustrate why the train takes so long but some filming of fast running between stations would improve the video experience imo, just let the video run time increase. I hope you are ok with this constructive criticism Professor 😁😁.

I totally agree with this, but sometimes my phone wouldn’t work because of the lack of service (because when our train was going 100kph, we were in an SOS zone) Next time I’ll try to get some captures of it going faster.
