Thank you for the great video. Already screenshot the operations to adjust. I have 2 x MI-6 and flooded one of them 3 times. Did not go deeper than 5 feet. Dried it up and still works like new :).

Thanks Steve. SUPER helpful. I have the 4 and my wife is the pinpointer but she’s heavy handed and holds the button down for way longer than I like & I wasn’t sure what setting it is on. I like setting 3. Now I know how to re-tune it if I have to.

Thanks for taking the time to post this very informative video! Have a Deus 2 and purchased the MI-6 to go along with it. I will tell you that I have had issues with it while hunting. Its hit and miss on whether it will connect or not to the headphones. Yes I have paired it to the #7 mode..but dang thing seems to have a mind of it own..to the point that at times I will not dig iffy signals because I just don’t know if it will work/pair to the phones…extremely frustrating to the point that I went back to my Garrett Carrot instead. My buddy had the same issue and went back to his old Minelab PP. For now it will sit until I decided to mess with it again. For sometime it worked as it should. Yes, I have reset, unpaired and paired it several times with the same results. Hope it’s me that is screwing up (not the first time LOL). Keep them vids coming and happy hunting. Perhaps a call to XP is warranted…

Thanks for the comment and info. I’ve only ever used the MI4 and MI6 as stand alone pin pointers, and for that purpose they have been perfect. Personally, I need both the pin pointer and the detector to be useable while I’m trying to locate the target, so even if I could pair them, I probably wouldn’t… your observations are very interesting.

Yes sir, I was used to being able to use my Garrett Carrot and if I had to relocate target I would just quickly sweep the coil over and PP again..however with the MI-6 paired, you must turn off the PP in order to use the coil to sweep target..it is what it is..very happy with the D2 and have not picked up my 800 since..so for now its that Garrett Carrot for the win here. Thanks again.

Just got my MI6 today. Thanks so much for this video. I'm 70+ so getting the end off it to charge it is going to be a challenge. It is very tight. I don't detect in water or in a lot of rain so might not adjust it quite as tightly as long as it works. Great video🤠🌻

You’re welcome! Hopefully you have been able to unscrew the cap. I’m always careful not to over-tighten it as you can damage the o-ring and then water can get into it.

You're not kidding, just got mine, and wow, I almost passed out trying to open it.

I'm glad I watched this, I knew everything except you could retune it on the fly, I thought you could only decrease sensitivity on the fly, I didn't know you could press the button away from the soil to retune it, I used to turn it off and back on to do that

What pin pointer can detect titanium like a titanium screw or ring

really love your videos on this thing, I think I will get one considering I just submerged my non-waterproof pro find 25. Do you happen to know if you can de-tune hot rocks? Lots of partially burned coal etc where I live which gives false readings.

They’re a great pinpointer, and you can de-sensitise them by simply pressing once on the power button when it’s on, while holding the tip against the ground etc. Some argue that they aren’t as sensitive as other pin pointers, but I don’t see that as an issue at all.

You neglected to mention the battery indicator doesn't work if the light is turned off . The manual says it does but it doesn't .

Why is there no option to have vibration on when paired?

Is there any difference in detecting depth between mi4 and mi6? Or is the pairing to detector the only advantage the mi6 has over the mi4?

The pairing is the only additional feature as far as I know.

I have had mine for a short while but it is getting a lot of scratch on the plastic from poking in hole and the rocks in soil etc , i hope it will last

Mine is also fairly scratched up, but it’s very tough. I’ve seen others putting plastic protectors on the end (like the ones you find on the ends of chair legs). You could also wrap it in a strong fabric tape perhaps?

I just bought an MI6 to lair with my Deus2 I found that it hS less then half the depth that my Garret carrot could pick up a target in the hole.... have you used another pinpointer and experienced this ?

The MI4 and MI6 have 3 different sensitivity settings. As per the video, make sure you’re on the highest setting. You might also find the pitch audio setting better than pulse. Give these a go.

This is a standard function in the MI4 and MI6, to show the battery is charged. It uses minimal power, so shouldn’t affect the battery life at all.

I have both also and a D2 the only thing I think should be fixed is the threads on the cap they need to be a bigger

Yes, and the cap can be difficult to remove at times.

My XP mi-4 failed in 3 feet of water... The charging is old usb style.. The menus are almost impossible to remember

Thanks for the comments. I have a link to the manual on my phone, so I can pull it up if I need to fine tune things. I guess we tend to set and forget, so the settings can become difficult to recall when we want to change them…

This cannot be turned off, and it’s an indicator to let you know if the pinpointer has battery power. It uses very little power.

This is normal. This blinking LED uses almost no power at all, and it’s to let you know the battery is working and the pinpointer is operational.

Is this normal, I have the mi-6 paired to my remote but was curious why when i switch the mi-6 on without the remote on it wont make a noise when it's around any metal or coin's.

Not sure as I don’t have an XP detector to pair it to, but I’d suggest you need to unpair it if you want to use it separately, or have the remote on to hear the audio…
