I ran the deus light for 5 years. I was gifted the deus 11 . It has gone wrong for the second time in three months. It came out of the box wrong. It doesn't compare to the deus. My finds rate has fallen through the floor. My good lady and I go out together and her finds are way more and better than mine. I used the light on the same field last week and probably found more the I did in three months on the deus 11. I presume it is operater incompetence. But give me the light any day. Thank you for a great video. Many thanks wasp and Helen 🐝😷

Gary as ever an excellent and informative video, thank you! All always regard metal detecting as a game of odds,,,, the more targets you can dig out of the ground then theoretically, eventually a great find will appear, this has been my approach for years, for me personally to achieve this searching most agricultural arable land, I run high levels of reactivity, (set at 4 or 5) some silencer, some bottle cap reject, this approach settles the machine down,, a “stable” machine is good! Depth has always been a little overrated in my opinion, in fact the vast majority of my fields are so iron infested depth is simply out of the question anyway. And finally don’t forget, each year a field is cultivated new targets will appear that were undoubtedly masked by iron! I’m loving my Deus II, keep up the great work Gary.

I always take a blank hammered or cut half with me when on a new field. Drop it in a relatively deep hole and swing the deus over it, adjust accordingly till the settings can handle the ground. I always think that if I can pick up a small hammered then the bigger targets are going to jump out anyway. Just keep an ear out for the little wisps that could be something at depth. But I’ve found Palaeolithic flints on the surface so not sure depth really matters as much as everyone thinks. (Maybe old pasture yes)

People keep comparing the Deus and the Deus 2 and expecting to have the same machines and they are not the same machines. I look at it this way, if the D2 had a totally different name it wouldn’t be compared to the Deus nearly as much as it is. I treat the D2 as it’s own beast because it is. I keep the knowledge that I have on the D1 tucked away for when I need it again, but I try not to bring it out and apply it to this new machine because I’m afraid I’ll run into trouble and not get the full potential of this new machine. If it was the same as the D one there would’ve been no reason to come out with the D2.

With the difference of the reactivity settings should you not slow down the swing? A fast swing with a high setting, I would think, would pick up shallower targets. The less reactivity with a slower swing would pick up the deeper targets and less chatter. Your swing is pretty fast for the lower reactivity. Would you want distance (area covered) or depth?

Can you help please I have a deus 1 I've come over to deus from c scope I am finding it a little difficult,I detector abroad and most of the area I detect in are heavy in iron old shell casings shell splinters amongst other nasty iron bits that make the deus sing every step I go I want to try and make the sounds more distinguishable ie making the sound different for ferrous and non ferrous the noises to me sound pretty much the same?? Please can you help I really want to like this machine but I want it to work better In the areas I detect,if you can help me create a program or give me an idea of what settings would make this more user friendly to me. Thank you so much Ps great videos

Hi Bob Full tones may work well. I think you will be better talking to local detectirists who know your area.

Thank you for your reply Sadly most of the detectorist are quite aged with old c scopes And speak French so there is a bit of a communication problem plus not being au fait with the deus I just wanted to try and adjust the settings to give me more of fighting chance there is so much iron in the groud If you have done any lesson videos which you may think may help please could you point me in the right direction. Also I am still running it on 3.2 software The sonar program you mentioned seemed interesting but it is not available on the 3.2 software? Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated I want to stick with the deus Thank you in advance and please keep the videos coming very informative

@@Gorton19 change your reactivity up above 2. Maybe 3 will make you help hear the different targets next to each other. I do this in spots where a lot of iron nails etc are lying. If it's a really dirty place, even up to 4.
