So much untapped potential there. I'd love to see more films/games/media set in ancient mesoamerica. If I had a time machine, one of the first places I would visit would be Tenochtitlan in its prime.

@@celiaberland37 Basing off your name that you're one of the directors, I just want to say THANK YOU for this amazing work! You did an awesome job and I can tell the amount of work put into this. It seems the theme for Annecy Festival 2023 seems to be Mexico (? Correct me if I'm wrong). As a mexican, I've never felt this happy watching an animation based off my culture (and history) :) You're doing great!
it is amazing how this is historically accurate!! so much atention to the detail feels like a love letter to my México... my love and thank you to all the artists involved.
There are so many styles and contestant this year !! That’s awesome

i love this, you can tell when something is made with love and with the purpose of honoring and appreciating a culture (yes im talking to you Aztec videogame)
It's nice to see my mexica people represented like this
Me encantó!!! ❤❤
Found the rabbits!! I adore the art style in this with all those thick, prominent lines. Everything feels so sturdy yet smooth.
One of the animators snuck in the Red Birb meme in the persons shoulder at 0:22 It might just be a normal red bird but the fact it does the head motion and looks at the camera is too close to just be a coincidence Either way I love the absurd amount of detail in these little promo videos

The trailer titled "Que onda wey 2005" feels so authentic, like it was made by someone from CDMX. And this one feels like you've visited the Museo de Antropología and taken extensive documentation. @@intiorozco5063 most of our documentation comes from the internet, we also asked some mexican people what were they thinking, but I don't think any of the students in my class went to Mexico , not that I know 🥲 also no we didn't really have any consultant so we did all the researches by ourselves.... it would have been nice tho. It happens that in our group we are interested in history and different cultures so it was really nice. We based ourselves on specific websites and images from the codex/old drawings , the nicest part for me was the design of the emperor cause we wanted to have something accurate. So we really tried to see all the coincidences between the different representations we had (most of it being about the costume) while making him look cool 😎
I would love to see a movie with this and I just got hyped by this short animation

I think next one is Portugal 😐 the thing with Annecy fest is that it has a program with a theme and screenings to pay homage to the theme... So there has to be some animated movies made by the theme country and it is harder if it is a country where the animation culture is not very prolific 😢 Mexico has a big cinéma industry for example...

We wish we would have been able to get native people in our class, it would have been really good of course... It is true that the expensive french school doesn't get a lot of space for diversity sadly. But it was a commission from the festival we had to do for our diploma. We at least asked to the Mexican students in the school who were in other years their take on the Idea + design etc But yeah it is true that it is not the best 🥲🙇🏻♀️ We really tried our best to pay homage we really hope we didn't do big mistakes 🕊️ In the end doing the project we learned a lot about the culture we were trying to show on screen so it was very interesting ❤ + Only half the team is french :)

You forgot to animate the part where the temple stairs glisten with trickling human blood as they ripped the still beating hearts out of babies, children, women and men with flint stone "daggers". The really talented priests were skillful enough to show the pumping heart to the dying sacrifice's horror.
