During the 1st round, Angela immediately attempted a takedown once she’s in trouble after getting hit, to nullify her opponents striking momentum. It worked when she was fighting Stamp few months ago but this time Xiong saw the take down attempt coming and didn’t give her a chance to recover. It’s a very good fight. Both women did great and the right person won IMO. In this case, the elite striker defeated the elite grappler.

It was a good comeback from Angela after a disastrous first round, but still it wasn't enough to beat Xiong. Xiong truly deserved that win by unanimous decision.

Xiong is always SO exciting to watch. Love her sm

Excellent fight. Angela is lack of something to fear in her stand-up to Xiong therefore Xiong can choose to focus on takedown defense. Come back with quicker and stronger leg kick and the next match would be deferent. Looking forward to their next bout.

Xiong did well in her striking and the referee almost interfered in the first round by stopping the game after furious attacked by Xiong. She did well in defending Angela’s take down attempts. She blocked most of the knee during cage control. Angela is very good at grappling but she blocked quite a number of punches with her face. She need to improve on her striking. Apart from round one, it was a close fight! Well done to both great fighters!

She was the challenger. She had to go for stand up in order to make contact otherwise she wouldnt be able to grapple. Xiong really had a great preparation.

Totally disagree, was not clearly nor was there a reason she should win except for what she did the first round. Angela won 3,4,5th and had two or three take downs better control more strikes and was more aggressive.

Atleast even Lee is MMA fighter only but she is only one who defeated Xiong in their second fight. Of course, Xiong is a kickboxing aside from MMA, but she is not enough good in grappling she is more focuses in striking. Atleast Lee can striked her face too.

the first round reminded me on how Amanda Nunes demolished Ronda Rousey. The grappler Rousey just stuck out her hands looking for something to grab, while the striker Nunes kept hammering her unprotected face. It was the same here: Angela hasn't learned how to protect after getting hit, so she panics and does the only thing she knows, stick out the hands and try to grab something. Unless she massively improves her striking and defense (head movement and hands held high when under attack), her opponents just saw the way to beat her.
