For those showing up to try and act like PhiDX is somehow tricking you, he says right upfront at 1:16 "For Tekken the anime, Tekken Bloodlines, she voiced Ling Xiaoyu." So if you were hoping for Maaya Sakamoto, Phi hasn't had the chance to run matches against her (yet).

That was not upfront at all. The thumbnail shows in-game Xiaoyu, not anime Xiaoyu. This was obvious clickbait.

I'm so thankful for these beginner coaching videos! it really helps break down the giant wall of information that you feel like have to learn all at once, and you give us a nice progression pipeline for how to learn the game. And seeing you problem solve through each player's learning process, how you capitalize on what they're picking up easily and how you find solutions for what they struggle with is helping me problem solve my own learning bottlenecks. I especially loved how you broke down the bread and butter combos at the end. I've avoided learning combos for so long because so many "bread and butter combos" videos just barrage you with 15 different combos all at once with no explanation for how they work. Seeing you narrow it down to "here's one combo that applies to a bunch of launchers to learn first" is really enlightening.

Showing up to a tournament and playing a character you voiced is such a cool fan service idea. It really creates this perfect win win situation for all parties involved. The crowd and the viewers will go wild whether its a surprise for them or not so its definitely a win for them. The tournament will get more attention so its a win for the event. And it will spread the word about the VA and their resume extremely organically so its a win for them as well. I love this idea of hers so much

I had to check the date on this video 'cause I SWORE I saw a video of her playing a character she voiced recently. I eventually remembered she was on Sajam's channel playing AKI a little while ago! She's awesome and I'm jealous of her talents..!

THIS is what fighting games need. New players being taught by professionals and getting them into the scene through videos. Show that its possible to get better and for it to not be a complete slogfest.

She didn't. She only voiced her in the netflix show Tekken Bloodline. Yumi Toma is the original voice actor, Maaya Sakamoto is the current voice actor and has been for almost everything past Tekken 6.

That's really cool, I remember seeing her play AKI on stream once, and I had no idea about Ling or Metera. Watching VAs play is also pretty great with all the funny noises and impressions they make.

I'd say it goes on a person to person basis. i only slide for specific inputs and in not even conscious about it. but generally speaking i don't. Not saying it doesn't work but it's definitely a preference

Not really the moveset for each character is very detailed and gives you good combo examples. But I guess ranking it to the easy and hardest characters might help new players out.

While I doubt that she'll be dropping this game, Xiaoyu has historically been one of the hardest characters to master in the Tekken series in general thanks to her numerous stances, setups, and long movelist. Definitely not a beginner friendly character at all. Also, what you just said was very disrespectful to women in general. 😤
