I get whatsapp notifications on my S1. You just hv to select which app that you want the watch to receive notifications from.

did they finally separate alarm volume level from notification/music volume level? (and does the alarm work with sound set to "mute" during sleep? because on previous xiaaomi watches alarm is muted, when you slepe and have this mode on.... which is stupid cause alarm exist to wake you from sleep so it would be nice to actually work)

Great review! Is there any way to listen to music on Bluetooth headphones from the watch, online or offline? Ideally Spotify. Running without holding your phone is the dream. This would make me buy the watch. Thanks!

The fluororubber band would be preferable to the leather strap for swimming. I find the realtime heart rate is not accurate, although the heart rate measurement during sleep does seem to accurate.

Err, the rubber strap because it's... waterproof, while leather will wear down quickly during workout, hand wash, can't wear watch in shower, swimming, etc. It's the point of these waterproof smartwatches right? You are supposed to wear it everywhere.

Hi Ben, notifications is the first thing I turn off as it is a distraction in meetings and at work. When I see notifications coming in on someone's watch I know they are not giving full attention to the matter at hand and depending on the situation either discount their input or if the situation demands find a way to pull them into the discussion properly, usually by calling out the notifications. It is a nice thing when working alone though.

NFC ain't simple to activate unlike Apple Watch. It runs on Xiaomi Pay. I can't get pass 'next' after keying info in. Guess Xiaomi Pay ain't supported here yet.😑

I tested the international version. Did you get yours in China? I worry the China version may not have another language available. I don’t know this for a fact btw. Just a guess on my end if you can’t find it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't address the only feature I've been looking out for from a smartwatch: having a large storage. It's awkward to run or workout alongside my tall smartphone. Putting a 128GB in a smartwatch would let me store all my music locally and leave my phone in the vehicle. 12 day battery life is definitely amazing though.

If i am not wrong the china version has 4gb storage for music. I Wonder why the global version doesnt have any storage. That was the only reason why i waited for the s1. Otherwise i would have get the amazfit GTR 3 Pro

Although going out in no where alone for running our biking without have a phone on you is not that of cleaver idea. accident happens quickly !

I decided to pull go for it. ....it was a mistake! It's an oversized fitness band (not really a smart watch) and a bad one at that. The appearance of everything meets expectations, but the substance, data detail, accuracy, and functionality are all missing. I can't see that any of the results other than perhaps the step counter or GPS tracking are accurate to a useful degree. The sleep data appears to be entirely based off of heart rate (which is a flawed model), and there is no indication that the heart rate tracking is any better than Mi Watch, which was ok, but not excellent. If you set up the watch for the most accurate measurements and "always on" then the battery life is only 1 day (minus two hours that you can't wear it during the day if you want sleep tracking because of charging), which is annoying. I can't recommend this "watch" if you care about the data quality, and I can't recommend it if you want other features (there basically are none and there are no apps that work with it because it's a proprietary OS). Two thumbs down! I'm going to sell mine.

just a remark to this channel. The vinyl straps or silicone straps are good for sport and swimming. the leather straps mixed in water and sweat will degrade quickly and become ugly strap with awful smells. Every style has his place and occasion.

You forgot about the Ticwatch Pro 3 or Pro 3 Ultra which can view and respond to all messages whether you want to use voice, text or scribble response. I see also this watch is on sale for $100 off at the MI store for $1,499 HKD for the S1 variant and $1,199 HKD for the Active version.

Is the sapphire fake like apple's?
