A great review. Tablet business is definitely not dead. There was a little bit of " silence" on the markets mainly because there hasn't really been that many options. Now there is and let's hope it stays that way.

GPS and Fingerprint reader would have been a nice addition to this. My friend has customized tablet doc in car, in which u can doc in any tablet and use it as infotainment for music, movies, browsing and map; when done driving u can plug it out and use it as regular tab.

I've got a Xiaomi Pad 5 and it's the tablet I've liked the best out of all the (many) tablets I've owned (I've always paid under £350 for tablets - I find the value gets worse above that price point). The Pad 6 looks nice, but I remain unconvinced that it's a big enough jump from the Pad 5 to be worth getting (would be nice if there was a fingerprint reader on the power button - something many competing tablets have and about the only thing I thought was missing from my Pad 5). If they can manage another performance boost with the Pad 7 while still keeping the price low, then that'll probably be the one I'll upgrade to. I've had a few Samsung tablets in past (still clinging onto a Tab S5e for a little bit longer - their best value tablet I think they ever released), but Xiaomi are providing far better value for money with their tablets at the moment compared to the current frankly well overpriced mid/high end Samsung tablets.

I've got the Pad 5 since it's release, using it every day for call of duty mobile, but with a Playstation controller... Most times it has been a great pleasure for the reduced early bird pricing, many software issues when it came out, but still works fine, even though the heavy usage. Sadly fell on the ground several times, never cracked or anything, pretty impressed with the durability! Biggest downside for me was the usb-c 2.0... Guess i'll buy the upgrade, since Xiaomi is selling it right now for only 300 bucks, which isn't much more, from what I've paid for the Pad 5, about two and a half years ago.

Great review, well done mate! I bought the 8-256 version before 2 days, the tablet is perfect! Image quality, sound quality (i cannot believe the sound perfomance). Everything is running fast and smooth! The keyboard combo, is easy and you MUST have it!

It's a good tablet! But I still kind of prefer using my 6 year old iPad pro 10.5... It has better gestures, a smoother UX, better multi-window support, fingerprint reader and far better optimised apps. The Mi Pad is sometimes janky and just a tad less good. It's great for the price though. Hope software improvements fix the issues.

these specs are mostly on paper, typical chinese product. i still have a 2015 12.9 ipad pro that still works as day one and has a much much better sound than this certified atmos xiaomi pad 6 has. as for the screen, same paper specs, in reality it just keep messing the refresh rate all the time depending on apps and some other not kown factors. but still, whatever refresh, the lcd pannel looks middle quality, the black is inconsistent, the software is glitchy, but bundle with keyboard free is a good deal, i can see a decent price/quality ration when buying in bundle with free keyboard or pen so i've kept it. no free keyboard,i would have returned it 100%!

Looks really good, but display mirroring as the only video output option is a little underwhelming.

It is good for photos. As for videos - it really depends on what you want to achieve.

Im using pad 6 for a week, i wish i get a fingerprint scanner.... Apart from that i want splint screen to be also in up and down two apps in addition to side by side apps in portrait mode.... It will look so good and productive than side by side apps in portrait screen.

You can't use it for such purpose...

I have the Pad 5 Pro and it is still good. 80% as good as iPad Pro (M1) from the same year and 50% of the price. We have both in my household. A bit odd that the Pad 6 has the same processor as the Pad 5 Pro. I would have expected something faster, but Snapdragon 870 is still more than good enough for now. I'll probably skip this generation and wait for the Pad 7 Pro.

It has the worst performance drops of all the 8xx series and it throttles way more than it's competitors. It'd be better to go for 8+ Gen 1 which is the real 8 Gen 1 soc in my view or opt for the even better SOC 8 Gen 2.

They are almost the same in terms of feeling and build quality.

i just got mine,n feeling sad that i cant mirror it to my samsung ultra ..i thought androids just support any devices as long as it's androids...anyway hows the performance when doing works in Microsoft?

Nah, Xiaomi are limiting the feature, unfortunately.

Have you encountered any issue witgh netflix? Widevine L1 cert not available...? max support: SD?

I'm not sure my comment will be relevant by the time you read this cos u most probably already gotten the stylus, but just letting u know I have the global version of pad 6 and bought the china version pen and it works perfectly fine

Not sure about that. They still update the generation 5, which is 2 years old.

You can check the IMEI on some databases online.

Android developers just need to Improve applications for tablets, so we will have better conditions to work with tablets. Microsoft apps for example are a disgrace. And many other apps look weird on a big screen. We need better apps for Android tablets.

It is an option in the settings. Could be that Xiaomi keep the feature available.for their Mi Phones only.

Hello. I wanted to ask if the Xiaomi PAD 6 with Android 13 MIUI 14 system allows data encryption (including file system in memory, plus my files)? I can't find the "security data" option or any other crypt that indicates that the data is actually encrypted. Unless the system defaults to encrypting after, for example, enabling a required PIN... The goal is to ensure that in case of device theft, the tablet data remains secure. Thank you for any insights and responses. Regards.
