Video Xiaomi is brighter. On pictures it's Vivo brighter :) Xiaomi video looking better. More stable competing to Vivo which had some jumps and the sky was flashing sometimes. The pictures are both great and it really goes to price and your preference

I wonder if it's possible for phone companies to have a flash option on Selfie pictures?

Tough choice i have the vivo x70 pro plus and i still bring it because in many ways the camera is supirior, i use a samsung s23 ultra as my main phone but also have a few xiaomi phones and one plus phones ive been looking at the x90 pro plus but maybe ill wait for the x110 pro plus instead and hopefully that one will have full google services support so timeline ø, location Sharing and google one backup works

Thanks for the video Darius. I have the Vivo X100 Pro and after watching several comparison videos, I think that for me the Vivo is still the king in photography. Even so, Xiaomi has done a very good job on the 14 Ultra, let's hope that with updates they improve it. In terms of the video, I think that the one who needs some updates is the Vivo, since it continues to miss a slow motion in 4k at 120fps and perhaps some other improvements that it can still provide.

The Xiaomi has nice selection of lenses, but the Vivo seems like a more optimised package overall. Downside is missing that intermediate zoom and extra far reach zoom. Oh and it has iPhone "HDR flicker" from a few years back. Photos seem to come out nice on almost every shot Edit : apparently X14u can do macro on multiple lenses too which is fun.

I prefer the selfies on the X100. Stabilization is better on the 14 Ultra.

Widziałem, ze w MagicOs można przeciągać np. zdjęcia i google wyszukuje. Widzialem też, że można zminimalizować apkę do przedniej kamery na ekranie. Coś jak w Iphone. i think the algorithm of the vivo is better if you want to make insta pictures with automatic, with the 14 ultra you can be more creative and of course you can make pictures that look like the vivo if you adjust the settings. but i know most people want to use automatic and dont want to think about the picture. but the 14 ultra need updates (more than 1), for example they wouldnt write ai zoom beta in the settings i think.

Darius the Xiaomi has the best aperture of 2.5 for 5x, but at this point I thought about s21 ultra which has 4.9 for 10x zoom, you think Samsung did something unbelievable back then and I should go for s21 ultra if I like zoom qualities? I want hear your opinion

The issue is that it will be top dollar, it will not launch globally at first, if it does it will cost even more and be crippled with just 512GB storage like the others. Chinese version will have it all but No Android auto, notification issues and usual Chinese stuff. Nah, not at more €€ than you would pay for a S24U with 1TB.

A bit of let down as i watched the first video on your channel! You used the optical zoom sensor on Xiaomi which is 75mm and compared that to the digital zoom 85mm on vivo despite vivo's being optical at 100mm! That's not a fair comparison!

is it correct though the xiaomi has yet to have an update while the vivo already has one. its better to compare again after xiaomi gets its update as well

Nowadays these new smartphones are so advanced that you might compare them to Formula 1 where even 3 months of advantage in terms of new developments can give you a few tenths of advantage in speed per lap. Considering that Vivo x100 Pro came out 3/4 months ago it is still doing very well and now the new Xiami is finally starting to give some hard time to it. I wonder how the Ultra version of the Vivo coming out this summer is going to set a new bar for everyone else

I like vibrant BTW, authentic, in my taste, is too dark in the shadows. I ordered the xiaomi 14 ultra and I think that its potential is huge but Vivo in ISP is from another planet. Really good job year after year with zeiss! I think that xiaomi is doing it really well now too 👌

I personally like Vibrant over Authentic in Xiaomi. Authentic looks dull while vibrant just looks social media ready. If u can, please compare the 2 modes

It's a close call, but I'd pick Xiaomi. It could be me, but I see Vivo do a lot of software trickery, that sometimes gives an unnatural result. But I expect both will release (software) updates to address current shortcomings. But Xiaomi's variable aperture implementation is just awesome. Finally: I'd be willing to pay a little more for bloatware-free phones.

Actually you're wrong about macro on Xiaomi.... It's not only one lens but 3...UWL, zoom 3.2 and zoom 5x can all be used for macro shots

Really surprised to see how much blurrier the video is on the Vivo, I thought it would be closer but there's a ton more resolution/detail on the Xiaomi.

Tbh both are good but I would choose none. I would pick the find x7 ultra or the huawei mate 60 pro+ instead. I own the mate 60 pro+ imported from China and I can say it blows all other phones out of the water even compared to my brother's iphone 15 pro. They are currently the top ranked phones in DXOmark and I dont doubt it. Cheers 👍

@Kenkiller1-2000 comment on other video As a photographer, I think the key to Xiaomi 14ultra defeating vivo lies in the idea. Xiaomi 14ultra provides 4 focal lengths of dual telephoto macro coverage, covering basically all focal lengths. Vivo does not have the color of Xiaomi 14's 4 focal lengths. The consistency and white balance are better than vivo. Xiaomi provides an amazing 16-bit color ultraraw mode on lytgoo. As far as I know, this is to use multiple raw formats for exposure bracketing, providing extremely high-quality photos and It has great light tolerance, can record more details of highlights and shadows, and supports lightroom workflow on mobile phones and PCs. This time 14ultra also provides ev adjustment buttons, which is very useful. 14ultra provides log on videos. mode, and supports the application of 709 restoration lut monitoring during preview shooting, so I personally think that the 14u mobile phone is a lightweight mobile phone choice for photographers when traveling. It is a camera with mobile phone functions, while vivo is just a mobile phone toy. All these experiences are what I got from the Chinese version of 14u.

Yup. Agree 14U is a photographer's choice compared to X100 pro. The X100 pro photos is just another phone photo just like the Huawei photos where dark areas are all brighten up to equate bright areas wheras 14U retains the shadow & that's what real photography is about. Most common phone users would prefer to have a well lighted bright photo from corner to corner & everyone's faces are bright no matter where they stand. 14U doesn't give you that kind of image. Instead it retains the dark areas as in what you see with your eye.

Xiaomi mightly has quad cameras on the back but has much more less options against vivo. Many limitations. Vivo software on cameras are amazing. I find vivo has better selfie all around and better telephoto camera. Punchy colours too. On the other hand Xiaomi has more natural colours which are great. In the day vivo capture the sky much more better but in the night xiaomi capture it better and natural while vivo is too bright. Great video. Thank you

My take is front camera is overall better on Vivo. Vivo's algorithm is really good!! But for rear cameras, I'd go with Xiaomi. And software on Xiaomi isn't yet fully optimized for its new sensor and new CPU. Expect further improvements in future firmware updates. If social media and selfies are super important, I'd go with Vivo. Otherwise, I'd go with Xiaomi. I've actually preordered 14 Ultra (with free Photography Kit as promotion for where I live).

I will go with Xiaomi 14ultra

Great job by Vivo but for me this year Xiaomi takes the cake! I am glad that we finally have some next level photography in mobile phones!

I am a X100 pro user since i upgraded last Nov. I can say that some vid and photos are better on that amazing Xiaomi. More on 50/50 basis. Some are better on Vivo. But if these 2 where released last Nov 2023, i would still Get the Vivo, because of the Price Diff. Hahaha Sadly, i cant afford the these Xiaomi, Samsung, iPhone prices. 😂

Watch at tube 7:57, 8:39. The Vivo is way better at showing details if the jacket, and the background. But the Xiaomi is also great, especially at video stabilization that can be seen at 2:12. However, for an all around camera, Vivo x100 Pro is excellent choice

VIVO. This is the phone I'm actually using at the moment. Can't find anything better at the moment
