笑口焦糖发糕 无需泡打粉 | Smiling Caramel Huat Kueh/Fatt Gou【clarakitchen21】[Eng Sub/中文字幕]
This smiling caramel Huat Kueh has a nice caramel fragrance and a rich taste of coconut milk. It is soft and fluffy. It is very simple, without baking powder and with just few ingredients. All we have to do is simply mix together all the ingredients and steam.😊
Ingredients:
1) Sugar 200g
2) Hot water 230g
3) Self Raising flour 200g
4) Cornstarch 1Tbsp
5) Coconut milk 150g
6) Pandan leaves

I just tried this recipe and it worked so well! I didn’t have pandan so I just skipped adding it and it opened up beautifully. Gorgeous color and very delicious.

@@zhiyingliu6940 冷水加熱到蒸汽上來 麵糊才能入鍋蒸(小心蒸汽燙傷) 蓋子蓋緊全程開大火蒸

I successfully made 8pcs of the Fatt Koh just now yes it is now brownish colour instead of beige colour in my first try. Thank you for the nice recipe

My Fatt Lou smile nicely but they are not as brownish as yours is it the "boiling sugar part"that went wrong the Kueh came out to be beige colour instead of brown pls advise tq

Yes, it is. The colour of the caramel determines the colour of Fatt Gou. You can cook the caramel slightly longer until it turns into a deeper copper colour. Beware of over-cooked caramel as it will turn bitter.😊
