I always did think like Namie Amuro, Kumi Koda, Ayumi Hamasaki, Japan always had these girl crush concepts much more than Kpop. They just didn’t market overseas that much. So I’m glad they are really going out now

Yeah, I have been in Japan for the last 15 years, so I am fairly familiar with what J-pop has been doing. I feel like back in the day there were quite a few male groups that had large international not-of-Japanese decent followings. (SMAP, Arashi, KAT-TUN…) However, I just don’t get the feeling that the girl groups went after the international audiences. Old time Morning Musume was kind of popular, but only with people who already liked Japanese culture. So this phenomenon feels new to me.

That was so tiring, the amount of detail in this choreo is insane, and the fact that they're doing it so quickly while traveling to their positions. The whole dance is a workout.

Its so exciting that we’ll see Hikaru in the group and her power with them. Some info on them: So basically XG is a global group - all Japanese members formed in collaboration of YGE and Avex (the biggest music label in Japan). They have basically no connection with YG other than the fact YGX trained them (the majority, if not all of them can speak Korean). They will promote in both Japan and Korea, but the goal is to be global. They were created by 2nd generation boyband DMTN’s member Simon. He has been preparing for this debut since 2017 and they will be active for 10 years! Kep1er’s Hikaru is apart of this project and will be added to the group after her contract ends with Kep1er (July, 2024). More information about the confirmed members will be released soon!
