Do you realize that in less than a month they have released "Gvrl Gvng", "TGIF", "New Dance", which means in the time gap (or maybe at the same time) between "Shooting Star"/"Left Right" and now "Puppet Show" they have worked on four studio vocal recordings, rehearsed four different choreographies, shot four different MVs, while at the same time they also had to prepare themselves for promos on TV music shows, practice for stages at various music shows in various countries, and everything was done in approximately 2-3 months. Our girls work so hard, so if there is even the slightest hateful word from you towards them I will find you one by one and beat you up. oot: Ueda Juria is the most pure-beautiful-precious girl in the universe.

I find it interesting that there are so many interpretations of this song. I think the main idea of the song has to do with the uncomfortable feeling of being controlled by someone, and from there you can interpret it in many different ways. 1. This may imply that women's voices in society are often not taken seriously since they have been heavily dominated by men throughout time. 2. This could also be a story about a girl being gaslighted in a relationship and now she's trying to get over her toxic lover. 3. This could also be XG's statement to anti fans, those who never accept XG's unique image and always want them to follow the usual model... When the control exceeds the limit, it will sooner or later lead to an emotional explosion, and that's why girls say: "Imagine a world where we could play different roles. Where girls be takin' control". The lyrics that follow sound like a kind of irony towards those who used to control the girls, like "Hey, are you happy when I do the same thing to you?" Some people may be triggered when they first hear the song, but think about the lyrics a bit, this song is not negative at all 🤷‍♀ Shout out to XG and their production team! You guys really never disappoint!!! 💫✨

Your 3 interpretations are wild and I have no idea how you would get to any of them... she literally says "I'm a controller" "playing puppet master is so easy" "I make all my own dreams come true" "imagine a world where we could play different roles where we'd be taking control" "they'll do anything when you got him hanging by a string" The whole song is about how life is easy when you are a master puppeteer by " XG " anyone with an eye can see and anyone with ears can hear.

Maybe they will be invited at MAMA. Although MAMA this year is stacked with releases. Especially with like 3 different BTS members releasing their album. TWICE, NewJeans. IVE. aespa. NMIXX. Ya'll know me by now. I feel that me as a man as a fan of XG i needed to say something about this whole drama about the lyrics. I don't have an issue with it and i don't see how this is an issue. Women in every industry have been told what to do without listening what they had to say. They've been treated as puppets. This song is empowering women and little little girls to get up and speak up until they listen to them. In asian culture women are seen as submissive and this is something that has to change. In Japanese culture its always been this way and they are Japanese lets not forget that. XG since day one they have said they are a different breed and they are here to break boundaries and empower not only women but anyone who feels that their songs resonates with them. If you are a male and you are angered and feel disrespected then you need to really seek for help. The whole double standard narrative in this situation is bullshit because for hundreds of years men have been belittling women in real life and songs. Ya'll been cool with listening to songs that have called women bit.... but a song that says IMAGINE if the roles were reverse hurt your feelings? .. please. I support XG 100% and since i consider myself one of their biggest fans I had to say something about it. I'm not going to let anyone insult my girls and stay quiet.

To inform you nicely, they aren't K-pop but they promote in South Korea. They are more like a global group because of their English-speaking being included in every song while the entire group is Japanese. I hope this makes you learn more about the group! 👌👌

They were offended by the statement saying "Play'em like their plastic dolls." . From my understanding the possessive objective "their" is used for a purpose. . When you're owning a doll or toys, How do you play them? Are you that kind of person who plays too rough and breaks it? Or the kind of person who values and plays them carefully? . It will fall into how you as a listener understand the lyrics metaphorically. . If you see it negatively or positively, it describes how you view the world in your own perspective. . The lyricism is very smart. They mirrored how the inequality happens in our society regardless of gender to a simple form "relationship". . So if you're offended, that's fine. Cause the song is made that way to see and describes you as a person.

I especially like XG because they leave a little space for all of us to interpret the meaning. Look at all the disputes. XG is doing it well. Some people find it relatable, some offensive, this is what happens when a song is so meaningful and people want to discuss. It may sound different for you, but to me this is an empowerment song for all the people, regardless of gender or whatever. To take the controle of your life and enjoy with imagination just like you did when you're little, playing with your favorite toy. So thankful for this masterpiece.

the men who are offended by the lyrics need to touch some grass tf. how can you be mad at someone just because they said “IMAGINE a world where we could play different roles”. the lyrics are not supposed to drag boys down, they want you to realize that the world we live in is a fucked up place. if the lyrics make you uncomfortable, think about what women have to face everyday. to say they feel ‘uncomfortable’ is an understatement. just to give an example, a few months ago a girl from my country was raped by SEVEN dudes and one of them even had the audacity to film the incident. imagine having to fear for your life just because you stepped out of your house. do you think this is the definition of a fair world? and things like this happen everyday and everywhere. you’d be surprised to know that many acts of violence happen indoors. women get killed by the same men they love. inside their own houses. yet women still have to walk beside a man or else they get disrespected by other men. if that sounds crazy to you, it is. our society itself is biased to men and discriminatory towards women. you can see the discrimination in every shape and form. why do women need men to protect them? why do men only respect women when they know there’s a man protecting them? why do women have to be objectified, laughed at, disrespected just because they are the way they are? the same goes for the kpop industry. female idols suffer gender inequality. the standards for a male are different from the standards for a female. women are always criticized more, even if that exact same behavior is shown by a man. south korea alone, as a country, is very sexist. no wonder why female idols need to be kind, submissive, beautiful, but also mature, or else they get criticized. xg sing about dreaming of a world where roles were reversed and you attack them? you’re just confirming that songs like PUPPET SHOW need to exist. they need to exist bc people like u exist.

XGにしかない世界感好きだし。結構やりすぎなファッションなのにセンスよく感じるんだよね。

これはもうgirl crush 超えてself crushと呼びたくなる　異性に好かれるとか同性に憧れられるとかなんかもうそういうの超えて、自分の楽しみを自分で作ることや、自分が好きな自分でいることの素晴らしさをXGちゃんが伝えてくれてる　語彙力消滅しすぎてあんまりうまく説明できないけど、誰にウケるとかそういうんじゃなくてもっと自分に対するポジティブなパワーを感じる

個人的な意見ですがアイドルは特にラブソングが多くて音は好きだけど歌詞はあまり好きになれない曲も多い中、XGは常に他人に媚びてる感じがなくてメッセージ性も含めて好きになれるんですよね… でもあんなつよつよなXGちゃんたちも常に無敵モードでいられるわけではないと思うので、今回少しだけ弱みをみせてくれた(しかも失恋ソングじゃない)のが特に嬉しいです！

i'm sorry, but AVEX definitely not small company. it's the one of biggest in Japan. also they handle japan's activities big KPOP name such as TVXQ and BOA (i know they handle Big Bang and 2NE1 too).

今までの曲で結局1番聞いてる 少し元気がないときも、逆にテンション上がってるときでも何故かどっちでもハマるのが不思議 強い決意の中に、ままならない世の中への悲観もあるように感じるからかな

I’m not Japanese but I feel so proud too that they represent Japan but a bit jealous at the same time. lol but I really love Japan, it is the only country that I can imagine the girls like XG would come out and Japan continuously brings us new culture and the world without Japan would be so boring! I also want to visit Japan when the girls perform there, their live concerts are so big and feel so different from elsewhere...

This feels like a Part 2 of Mascara to me. I interpret it as “dont let someone control you or your emotions”, imagine a world where you were the “puppet master” instead.

For some people who apparently did not sit well the lyrics, they must first take into account the country of origin and where the girls reside, Asia is a continent where women are still fighting for their place in society, in where even thinking about equality is frowned upon, where idols are seen as literally dolls and are always judged by their appearance, and that a relatively new group, who are also not the most popular in both Japan and Korea, are not looking to please the male view and instead be female empowerment is just spectacular to see!!! Love them so much!!

この歌詞、一見強烈に見えるけど結局はimagine a worldに集約されてて 「想像してみて、強い者が権力を持って全てを意のままに望むままにコントロールする世界、他のみんなは自分の意志を抑圧しながらなんでも言うことを聞いて思い通りに動いてくれる(自分がそんな立場に置かれたら嫌だよね)」 っていうことを性差だったり社会的な役割だったり人間関係だったり聞く人の立場によっていろんな受け止めができるように余白を与えてくれてる歌詞だと思う そして「自分を大切にする、自分を愛する、自分を信じる」って大きなテーマは一貫している

こんなすごい歌詞を歌う勇気を持ってくれたXGに乾杯🥂　わたしはかつて30年アメリカに住んでた日本人女性ですが、　アメリカでも目に見えない男女の壁はありましたし、　日本では長いこと女社長やってますが本当に腹立つ親父達が未だにうじゃうじゃいます。　男性の立場になる事を想像するくらいの自由があっても別にいいんじゃないのかな？　今まで従うだけだった女性達にとって想像することによって気が付ける新しい在り方もあると思う！
