Simon (their producer) said that they wanted to go full quality for the mv. They hired a film director to direct the music video so, bc of budget things, they had to shorten the song. Also, fun fact, GRL GVNG is the film director’s first time directing a music video :)

It’s actually not because of the budget. They shortened the mv because it’s just a teaser or a little taste of what is coming. He clearly stated also that it’s not a short version but the official mv teaser.

The concept was given by a Japanese director at XGALX/Avex who is the head of all XG's MVs. That's why their MVs have been consistently good no matter which firms they use and so different from any other k pop MVs out there. The actual Korean production director in the firm did a great job also in visualization of the concept but watching his previous work proved he needed the XGALX concept. Also, the short MV is what many Japanese labels actually do.

MV is so short becuase it's a Teaser for Mini Album. Just wanted to give you a glimpse into what their Mini Album might sound/look like. MV Director for GRL GVNG was his 1st time directing a MV as well. Chisa's part is ASL for hearing impaired people. XG about to blow up huge when they start touring USA heavily. Already were at HITC NY, next is HITC LA. Ciara remixed their song Left Right and Chilli of TLC gave them love.

@@sparkzam Possibly. There will probably be some differences as you know , no 2 XG songs sound the same.

So per Simon, this is the full video. He said that it just ended up being short. This is an introduction of the XG Universe. Also take note that on the part where Chisa is dancing by herself with the mask, she is doing sign language. Simon said impaired fans said they wanted to enjoy the videos as well so he added that in there. Alsoooo, I don’t think I’ve ever hear 1080p this excited OR talk that much 😂😂

Lord Almighty. .. Chisa's voice seemed like a beautiful sound a trumpet makes . God!!! And the sign language incorporated into parts of the choreo seems to convey a message to people with hearing impaired. XG is truly Xtraordinary. The Shooting Star is over and XG is taking us to a new era. And that gigantic Wolf symbolizes the Alphaz fandom. The technical stuff that went into play for this video is crazy top-notch. I’m scared for the title track cause GRL GVNG was a damn good pre-release!! I’m glad that Tippy Toes was their very 1st single cause that was a good “warmup” for what was to come ahead. XG as a whole is the complete package and I’m beyond excited for whenever their 1st mini album is released. Chisa’s part in this song is also my favorite 💗

Mad respect for showing XG so much love - not that they don't deserve it! They are killing it - and they continue to feed us.

In the latest episode of Xtra Xtra Simon mentioned he wanted the perfect balance when creating XG. Good lord is XG perfectly balanced. Grl Gvng is a perfect example of this. In a song this hard for the rap line and vocal line to be this in harmony is incredible.

You hit the nail on the head. Simon is a low key genius releasing the documentary with these songs. Adds a sense of realism to the lyrics that they are the baddest and they literally show them rejecting people for not being the one! Especially when you see Hikaru with the #1 seed in girls planet with the only other Japanese winner being passed over for itzy. Despite how talented Hikaru is, she didn’t make the cut. Personally I think she didn’t make it because Cocona fills the same role and she is arguably the most talented in XG. Tough luck. One other thing is their English accents when singing are seamless when in reality only maya excels at it. Another show of excellence.

Everytime XG drops a comeback it is totally different than what preceded it. That at first it just catches me off guard but once I get over that I tend to like it more. Thinking about this and the alien concept of the video reminded me of how i felt about only one other group, OutKast. Everytime OutKast dropped something new it was totally different than what came before. I remember when Atliens dropped it was so different from Southernplayastic. Expecting something on the line of Git Up Git out and getting songs like Elevator caught me off guard but realizing how good it is. And they continued to do it Aquemini with Rosa Parks then Stankonia with B.O.B. and the to switch again with Speakerboxx/Love Below and Hey Ya. That being said I now need a Tape with Maya and Cocona rapping over B.O.B. beat.

XG's KZread channel released a part of their documentary on the making of their group today, and it showed how Simon went to Atlanta to work with writers there to make songs for the group...years before XG even had a name yet. The planning, time, passion, and collaboration that went into this group is insane. And I respect so much that instead of just copying the style of hip hop/R&B for the aesthetic, Simon and his team actually went to go learn from veterans in those spaces.

once the mv went out i've been waiting to see their reaction. because i can't take it that the video is so short I feel i need reaction videos that will express my frustration that this mv is taking so much satisfaction and happiness away from just because it's not full track. I can say XG's making a different trend to make their fans to want more.

I love y'all and your support for XG! Many reactors miss the full song. I also love what y'all are feeling towards XG. They're a different breed!

This is just on a different level, and to see it coming from a Japanese group definitely raises a few eyebrows here. What's even more interesting is the incorporating of sign language into their video. Which apparently was intentional. XG found out that they had deaf fans & wanted to include them which is epic.
