DC's stadium, Audi Field, sits on land that was partially owned by the utilities company Pepco, and there's this electricity sculpture right next to the stadium. The three stars and two bolts are a subtle homage to the flag of the District, which has 2 lines and 3 stars on it. Pretty neat tie-ins, honestly, but definitely a very local-oriented logo

Honestly I really love the St Louis logo because of the whole STL upside down thing and also because it looks like an SAS insignia lol.

The Houston Roughnecks logo, the oil derrick, is pretty much a copy of the NFL's old Houston Oilers ( currently the Tennessee Titans).

The familiar feeling he's getting is from the Roughnecks using the same colors as the Texans. As far as the nickname goes, there have been plenty of other teams in Texas Sports who've used that or some derivative of, i.e. West Texas RuffNecks.

The L.A. Renegades logo is almost a direct ripoff of the old Oklahoma/Arizona Outlaws logo from the USFL. There's some concept art for a relaunched Tampa Bay Bandits that resembles the Dallas logo closer than the Renegade does.

I was gonna say that the dragon looks like a serpent or a sea monster. Somewhere along those lines, but I definitely agree. Seattle Dragons could use a secondary logo based on your description. Edit: I think this might be a game that a city like Winnipeg or Montreal might enjoy or even football rich cities up there like Regina or Calgary might actually enjoy. I think Vince should have 2 teams play a regular season game just to try it out.

I actually think you are 100% spot on with all of these rankings. I am a St Louis battlehawks fan but I think that where they are placed is 100% fair. Nobody is going to top that New York guardians logo. It's absolutely plush!

You are right!

The Houston Rockets use red and white - The Houston Astros use blue, white and most of all orange - The Houston Texans are red, white and blue. The Roughnecks are kind of a loveletter to the Oilers, but they're more of a modern take with the Texans colors. Which I'm all for.

Ok now I want Louie from the blues in armor as the mascot for the Battlehawks, also the way the two ts are connected makes it look like the symbol for pi, you know 3.14, being a reference to the area code for St. Louis being 314

There is also the Ottawa renegades logo and name and Calgary roughnecks name. I agree with your ranking list.

I agree New York has the best logo. It invokes both gargoyles and the lions that guard the New York Public Library.

6:53 you’re thinking Texans (NFL). Also the oil rig was used by the Oilers (now the titans). With the Seattle Dragons, Seattle’s nickname is the Emerald City so Seahawks (NFL), Sounders (MLS), Mariners (MLB), the old Sonics (NBA), the WNBA and WMLS and more likely tan not the NHL team next year all have green as their color. The dragon is supposed to be more Sea serpant likely than european folktale.

Houston Roughnecks are almost identical of the old Houston Oilers (now the Tennessee Titans).

If the stripes are meant to have any particular purpose. I'd say it's a ode to the ny yankees pinstripes. You're hit the top 3 in the mark. Seattle Dragons would have been great for the NHL team. Bettman missed the boat in that one.

My favorite team is the Wildcats but our logo/team name is just disappointing. You should look at the logos from the original XFL from 2001, the team names are crazy but the logos are much more fun. Houston has the best logo, Texans colors, logo similar to the Houston Oilers (the original Houston NFL team)
