Almost a decade ago, fans started "Operation Rainfall" to bring 3 JRPGs to North American Wii owners, one of which was Xenoblade Chronicles. It took over a year of convincing, but Nintendo finally released Xenoblade Chronicles in NA. Since then, we've gotten two more mainline Xenoblade games, a 3ds port of Chronicles 1, and a full blown expansion. And now we are getting a remake of 1. I think we owe a lot to those fans who started Operation Rainfall, and to be honest, so does Nintendo.

The weakest element of XC2 was not the art style but the animations. They just aren't as expressive as they could be which is somewhat of an issue for a series as dramatic as this one. It wasn't that much better than the original but there the low resolution of the Wii and the dark atmosphere kind of hid it. With the resolution of the Switch and the bright colors it's on full display.

@@Abbaschand The Last Story had a lot of potential and frankly ridiculous graphics for the Wii, but the plot suffers from a case of classic FF. It was still fun though, had a lot of good time with it. Still need to finish Pandora's Tower myself

The animation for the Bionis vs Mechonis is legitimately astounding. The detail on their bodies and the way they crumble when struck is just so gorgeous Monolith Soft really went all out and I cannot wait to play it

In Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country, you would see a gravestone on your map for every UM you defeated. It'd be great if they add something similiar to this game.

@@chocolatephone7840 Yes but it wasn't clear how good it would look. Seeing them in motion in cutscenes makes them look so much better. It's a pretty major upgrade rather than just an HD remaster.

I don't remember how I heard about the whole thing but from the bottom of my heart thank you, Xenoblade is top two of all time for me and Last Story was really fun. I never imagined at the time I originally played Xenoblade that it would 3 rereleases, a spin off, and a sequal. Even though none of them come close to the original in story in my mind, they are all super fun.

Honestly seeing all of these project rainfall supporters not only get Xenoblade over to the west, but getting a whole new series out of it, Shulk getting into Smash, and now getting a remake of the first Xenoblade must be like the most incredible thing ever for you guys. I can't even imagine 😅. Regardless, I cannot wait for this remake!

Honestly this is why monolithsoft is one of the best out there they give us a full gorgeous remake with a new adventure at the end. They didn't have to go this hard for us but they did. Thank you.

Nice catch, . It only makes sense with all the hints they dropped. Maybe in the epilogue we'll get an interesting reunion xD. Spoiler below* When i saw the purple portal I immediately thought of Malos/Logos, maybe he's not completely dead and he'll be the mini villain for the story.

The design and direction of the game are definitely two major areas that make Xenoblade stand tall amongst JRPG's, but man, the voice cast of this game just propels it into outer space!

Was my first time. It's my favorite video game story now.

As an avid fan of XC2 that hasn't played 1, Shulk's scream at 1:56 almost had me shedding tears of joy.

A lot of people myself included theorized this was the case back in XC2. So it's nice that we got a confirmation it. And nice to see what color his trinity processor looks like. So we got green for Pyra/Mythra, purple for Malos, and red for Alvis.

Oh god, the voice actors are just amazing, shulk gave me goosebumps once again.

This sounds like a cheesy generic Action RPG but I promise you the more you play, the more you get invested. I highly recommend this to anyone who is remotely interested

Shulk, Reyn, Dunban, Fiora....and....MELIA OMG, you did a great job at making them look excellent. This will easily be one of the games that I pass down to the next generation. No one should ever forget this game, and the amount of joy, memories, and feelings it has caused for each and everyone of us. May Xenoblade be remembered throughout the next millenia and so on. It is our duty to share this game with our family and peers. Xenoblade, truly a masterpiece it is. Amazing OST, unforgettable characters, mind-bending plot, and most importantly, what games are for...the gameplay. This game shines in the JRPG community, it is a free roam game, and it isn't quite turnbased however it has cool down for arts and auto attacks. It isn't your typical JRPG. It's something more than that. A treasure that can be passed on. An unforgettable game to say the very least. This is the type of game that needs to be brought up more to people. This. Is. Xenoblade. Thankyou Monolithsoft and Nintendo for your hard work that should shine bright throughout the ages. You have my upmost gratitude. Thankyou. Sincerely~Alex, your biggest Xenoblade Chronicles fan

Nintendo should do a Nintendo direct specifically for this game in May before its release, like they did to Xenoblade 2. I know it is not a new game, but it is basically the only switch big title after animal crossing. In the direct they should talk more about the quality of live features they added, to show that it is a worth purchase even for those who already played all the previous versions (wii, new 3ds, wii u eshop). They could all show more in game footage or even something akin to Xenoblade X exploration trailer. And also show a tiny bit more of future connected, maybe not cutscenes but the first minutes of gameplay. Come on Nintendo, promote the game.

I can't wait to see the mobile artillery crash into the house in HD!!!

It will mean nothing if they keep the same Funding as Game Freak, the real problem is Pokémon Company

I first discovered Xenoblade Chronicles after watching chuggaaconroy's let's play it on his channel. I fell in love with the amazing graphics along with game-play that I saw. I then asked for the game on my 18 birthday and was surprised to actually get considering how my parents are with money. Soon after I played the game non-stop and loved every bit of it. And now that were getting a remaster all I can say is. . . . . . THANK YOU NINTENDO FOR LISTENING TO US FANS WHO LOVE THIS GAME!!!

Hopefully the “Lost story” is given the cutscene it deserves. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read it it’s amazing. Also hope in NG+ we can adjust our level..

You can see a very tiny cross red crystal on his chest. Like Pnuema and Ontos they have on but much bigger than Alivis' in the original it looked like it was a key but due to the high resolution... We're in for a treat
