Nintendo struck gold by bringing Monolith on as a first party dev. Weirdly seeing how well XC3 is doing, gets me more excited to see their contributions in the Breath of The Wild sequel.

Once again ACG dropping the best reviews around. I have never missed a Xeno game and am looking forward to 200 hours in this one.
It's so refreshing, a game, where you have to stay focused during combat, use your brain and actual mechanics, complex mechanics not just button mashing and maybe reaction based counters or something like that I remember XB2, it took me a really long time to truly understand the combat, but boy, once I got it, it was amazing, barely ever had so much fun in a game

Played the 3ds version of Xenoblade 1 and fell in love with the series. The combat reminded me of an MMO but with a JRPG story, instantly fell in love. Bought Xeno DE and 2 and binged tf out of them back to back. Loved them. Lost my switch and got a new one, gonna run through Torna DLC before I buy this and I absolutely cannot wait to dive deep into this one. Easily one of my favorite RPG franchises ever.

If I can offer one tip for the Torna DLC: Sidequests. Sidequests, sidequests and more sidequests. Do as many as you can as the story stops progressing eventually until you've done a certain amount. These games give you plenty of time to screw around and figure out how the combat works. That’s the beauty of these games. While I never recommend playing out of order, you should either play this or Xenoblade 1 first as 2s tutorials can be very confusing.

I bought this on Friday and opened it up to play today after a long, long work weekend and almost 5 hours disappeared in the blink of an eye. Things move at a nice clip without feeling rushed, and the game has a sort of graceful quality to it where each individual part is moving effortlessly in harmony with all the others. The combat, the open world, the item hunting, the quests, and dialogue all flow together in a seamless, almost musical way. It feels instantly cohesive, mysterious, dangerous, and inviting all at once, and I can't wait to play more.

@they_them xb1 has avg characters and xb2 has…both awful and amazing dialogue in equal measures. Story in both earlier games is objectively above average for a JRPG and subjectively some of the best the genre has to offer. Absolutely agree that it’s not worth investing 140 hours to complete both earlier games before XB3: the biggest payoffs I’ve seen so far (halfway through ch4) have been the obvious identities of the Queens and some gee whiz ain’t that neat stuff with how they mashed up and post-apocolyptified areas from the earlier games

@@Leathal This is reassuring to hear. I don't have hundreds of hours at my disposal to play both 1 & 2 and would really like to jump into the 3rd game as it is its own contained story with some tie ins to the previous games. I know the mega fans will disagree and say its crucial but it seems most of the references are subtle and not crucial to enjoying the game. These are huge games and I'm pretty sure I'd get burnt out trying to plow through both games first.
