30:17 the fun thing is that one of jooyeon's strawberry cake fancam did actually dominated a chinese video platform (bilibili) and it got 2mil views now. Apparently the users there said that Jooyeon has been screaming all day whenever they start scrolling through the shorts lmao. Glad that this song actually brings new ppl to recognize XHs potential.

Gunil (drummer) and Jun Han (Electric Guitarist) they dont usually sing aside when all the members sing in chorus parts..Jun Han had a line in Test me but I believe they have paid more attention to his guitar skills as he does many solo parts in the groups songs.. Gunil did sing that bridge part in Knock down that you liked..I wish in their future songs that they include these 2 boys voices more cause they sure deserve the love and more!!!Thank you for checking them out im glad you like them like i do.For me personally their music brings me back to my highschool year cause i used to be into that rock sound and i still am even 10 years later 🥰

Talking about the lyrics of Strawberry Cake, I really hope you pay attention to the translation in the MV because the lyric video that you just watched didn't do any justice as to how amazingly written Strawberry Cake is. You're right that the lyrics are sinister (and it's even reflected in the instrumentals) but it's a lot darker than what the lyrics video translated it as. Example of this is when they translated "꼭두각시" ("kkokdugakshi" for the peeps who can't read Hangul) as "puppet". This was a fair translation but the Korean word is actually associated more with the word "marionette" (at least in the context of the song), which what the SC MV used as translation. This is such a key word to direct the overall tone of the song because "marionette" is strongly associated with horror, in which this song was aiming for in my opinion: a horror fairytale. Furthermore, diving deeper into the usage of the word, "꼭두각시" is actually a title of a Korean horror movie which is absolutely genius and just fits the vibe of the song even more. Sorry for going full on nerd with just a simple word in the song and its usage, but I just got to give justice to the lyrics, unlike what the lyrics video gave kjsdfkjsd and that's only ONE part of the song. There are other parts of the song that the lyrics video didn't do any justice.

As someone who doesnt listen to albums from groups right away, I wished i checked out sooner. I will call this a legit no skip album. Every song screams XH but also has a different vibe. My favorite is strawberry cake. (junhan and gaon are bias wrecking meee)

aaahhh yes gaon is so versatile and an underrated vocalist, i feel the same way about him as i do jiung from p1harmony so i feel like he's bias potential for you. as far as i can see the videos got the lyric distribution right. and yeah junhan isn't much of a vocalist, he's mainly focused on the guitar but occasionally he'll have a small part in the title track.

Caitlin I am sooooo happy you enjoyed this album! When it came out I was so excited. After the first listen through I was searching anxiously for more of there content and because you really liked this I think you would love some of the stuff I found. They don’t have many songs but have done so many covers as a group such as “Impossible”, “Drown”, and their most recent one of “Hellavator” which Bangchan reacted to and was shocked. Whether you watch these by yourself or on camera I highly recommend! Thank you so much for your reactions! They make my day so much better, honestly!! ❤💜🥰😊

I am so so so happy to see you reacting to them. when hdd first came out it was so refreshing, so GOOD, and it felt different for them to be marketed as a kpop band in a way day6 weren't but still have their identity be fully immersed in a harder, pop punkier, grungier sound than what you normally expect from kpop from the very beginning, no pun intended lol (none of the above is meant as a comparison by me to either day6 as a kband or kpop in gen which I love, just in terms of this being genuinely what was said to be the expectation of xdz predebut, in order to differentiate from day6 - having their own unique sound, like day6, but still keeping that visually distinct kpop styling) as an elder emo (lol) hdd stuck so hard w me and I was immediately obsessed - and also worried jype would somehow use the first comeback to dampen the sound, the style, the genre bending in order to appeal to a wider audience. spent like 8 months super nervous LMAO and then when the hello world medley came out I could not get over it. this is absolutely my favorite album this year, hands down, one of my favorites of the last FIVE, and one of my favorite debut albums (hdd as a debut single aside) ever in kpop. I am so proud of them and so proud of the work they've been doing. I'm sure other people will go mor einto depth about members, positions, etc so I won't drag on about that stuff but they're really something special. crazy to me that test me is my least favorite out of the album, but when every song is a 10/10 it's not taking away from it's efficacy or power at ALL lol. I agree, I think it was used as an intro to hook people in. ik people are gonna give you a thousand and one suggestions too but all I'll say is, especially with how you reacted to some moments in particular (ESP with gunil on drums), I think you'd love watching the teasers for this album on your own, I lost it when they came out, the vibes, the sinister nature of some of it, the editing, GUNIL, the instrumentation, everything. as far as anything else in general after the performance vids you're already reacting to, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend listening to their covers. they've been putting out official ones on their channel (zombie and hellevator being the last two - their drummer did the re-arrangement for hellevator cause ik that's a fact that'll interest you lmfao and it is INSANE) but the ones they've done on weekly idol and other shows as well (impossibIe, drown, etc). super worth checking out. like I said, I'm so happy to see you reacting to them and have been waiting eagerly and patiently for this notif bc I KNEW you'd have so much to say and so many of the things I've thought you echoed, especially when you first did hdd way back when and mentioned the way they play with their voices. it's so obvious in this album and so fucking good. what makes xdinary heroes special to me imo is that these aren't one off tracks or them playing in a different genre for a comeback, this is their complete sound, their identity. you can hear so many bits of inspo from 90s alt/grunge/punk/rock (I think they would be so great covering hole or rage against the machine) plus the HEAVY inspo from the pop punk/alt rock bands of early-mid 00s that I listened to as a preteen/teen and how I still love that music now. it's really playing to a certain aesthetic and you can tell they just Know who they are and what their sound is and I just fucking love them they're my kids and I can't wait to see what they do next 😭 anyway, this essay lmfao!!!! this was such a good reaction girl, such thoughtful and accurate commentary, loved that you loved them and love that you'll get to know them even better, on and off this site 💞

I have only found Xdinary Heroes recently but I have fallen DEEPLY in love. They have ZERO skips in their whole discography. I have been listening to it non stop. You were mention about the dynamics in their music and that is totally the word I used to describe them to a friend but I was referring to their vocals. But their music is totally dynamic too - you can never predict what is coming next. They are doing such unique and amazing stuff and no matter how many times I listen to their stuff I am never bored. When I was saying how they were vocally dynamic, I was referring to all the different things they do with their voices. They don't just sing straight, they are in their head voices or belting or whispering or adding grit or adding cries. They do SO much with their voices and that just makes the music extra impressive too. I LOVE them!!! I am going to spend my weekend watching your Xdinary Heroes reaction vids because some reactors have only reacted to like 1 or 2 vids. I like that you are diving all the way in!

And I am leaving 3rd comment here)))) but I wanted to add that this album is freaking masterpiece, I can't even make a top, bcs I love all songs equally. I just think that Strawberry cake hits differently since it's that song that exactly made me stan them. I was so impressed, I lost my jaw when I firstly listened to it. And I love the lyrics of this song. At the same time, Knock down, Sucker punch, Pirates, Test me, Happy death day are my favourites too. I listen to these songs 24/7. And "Hello world" is definitely the album of the year. And now I am very curious and excited about their next mini-album called "Overload". Another fan fact: both guitarists and bassist learned how to professionally play guitars and bass just for almost 2 year before their debut. That's insane. Some people can't learn to play instruments for years and they became professionals in almost 2 years and still continue improving. JYP himself called them young guns of their company, and I agree with this statement. They are very special. And unfortunately so underrated( I want them to become very successful and popular, they deserve it.
