I love this darker edgier direction xdh is going in, I think there is a real gap in the korean market right now for this emo-esc band sound. Also yes pleassseee to an xdh deep dive, 'Hello World!' (their first mini album) has some of my favourite songs of theirs!!

Yes!! A jyp band deep dive would be so cool, I can't give much word about day6's discography but the discography of xdinary heroes' is quite the ride. Specially overload which is admittedly quite a divisive album within the fandom and their most experimental one.

Would absolutely second this! As someone who loves DAY6 more than anything, they have an incredible discography. Very different from Xdinary Heroes in that they didn't experiment AS much in their sound (they still did plenty of genre mixing and mashing), but I would say DAY6 benefits from that by feeling more consistent. Where Xdinary Heroes feels like more of a wildly fun roller coaster ride to me, DAY6 is a long relaxing, beautiful river cruise. Both great in their own right, just so distinctive.

i'd love to hear your thoughts on xdinary heroes' earlier work! i've been following these boys since debut, and i'm fascinated by the sonic journey they've been on - i personally think they have a no-skip discography, and i appreciate how they somehow keep finding new interesting pockets to explore

So as for the release schedule, they're doing a thing that apparently JYPE did w/ Day6 years ago where they release a series of singles over the course of around 6 months and then compile those singles into a new mini album. So at the start of every month for the next while they're doing a weekend of concerts followed by the release of a new single, and we'll probably get the compilation album some time this fall. I predict they might then go on tour, but we'll have to wait and see.

The Everyday6 project was proposed by the boys, where they'd release a song every 2 weeks for an entire year. So though JYPE approved it I wouldn't credit them for the concept :p
