The issue with the leadership in Activision and all those publishers is that they are not gamers, they have no clue how we feel about the matchmaking and so on, they just look at numbers and hire "experts" to make algorithms.

Sbmm isnt the issue. Its the engagement optimized match making. The rigging of gun fights.

I honestly don't know if I'm going to buy BO6. I've always been about the campaign mode and 6v6 which Activision totally screwed us on with MW3. If XDefiant can build on what they have over the next few months and fix some of these known issues, i might be holding off on black ops for a while. As for COD removing SBMM/EOMM from the game. XDefiant would need to bring in a hell of a lot more players for a sustained period of time in order to eat into those MTx profits before COD would make a move like that.

Battle royale was only fun to me from 2017-2019. I feel like the more self-aware and observant you are, the less likely you'll beable to maintain interest in the quick but empty gratification that BRs provide

The funny thing is that the more I play XD the more it feels less like cod, I jumped back on MW3 to play demolition and before I completed the match I switched it off coz what little interest I had for the game has completely gone. When MW3 released the only thing keeping me playing was the zombies coz although it’s not round based, the potential was massive until they just abandoned it completely. I’ll be buying BO6 but I already know it’s not gunna be good. At this point I just buy it coz it’s pritty much like a yearly subscription at this point 😢

Played a lot XD this weekend and it's decent and enjoyable apart from the known broken stuff. Knowing trashtivision they will probably making a huge PR stunt out of the fact they get rid of SBMM but leaving EOMM where it is now ;-) Bought Sker Ritual today ( 10% discount on Steam for 34€ which is around 29 English Pounds ) and all it's DLC for half the money you pay for MWIII so there is no need to buy BO 6 with its half-baked zombies or MP. I am so fed up with that game!!

XD is making COD WORK these next four months is very important for COD

I think activision might turn down the SBMM/EOMM in future CoD titles if XDefiant becomes a huge success, but I don't think they will outright remove it from CoD

I wish they could make a really good extraction loot and shoot I can't remember that looter shooter that you were playing a lil bit ago looked good it's supposed to release in the summer kinda reminded me of apex bit better and it was a third person shooter

100% they don't want PC players making controllers users quit but they are looking to maximize player base by allowing people to party up with friends on any platform. To do that they had to fuck over the average player

I agree, 2 completely different platforms. Cheating wise there are as much cheaters on both platforms only the PC cheaters are the more obvious ones. And the turn cross play off button in cod is a joke. I play both on PC and console and as soon as you turn cross play off on both devices you hardly can get a a lobby. Just a fake button to pamper players.

Well I've been delusional 4 years, I've always hoped the next game will b the ONE, after more years than I care to mention, I don't honestly care now, they've taken my good will, my hope , and tarnished the memories of well loved franchise 4 far too long. As u mentioned, why work any harder when u can profit from doing very little ?, & when the player numbers drop u just put the price of skins + cosmetics up ! And still come up smelling of roses 😂

The main problem ive got with Battle Royale games now especially warzone is the level of cheaters they keep bragging about how ricochet is doing its jobs however cheats roam large

Activision haven't cared about CoD for years. If they did they wouldn't keep releasing trash. It's all about money from skins, Battle Passes etc etc. As for development cycles. Haven't we heard similar before with MWII. They will start to care when the money pit starts to dry up. BO6, rumour mill says it will be on GamePass so I won't be buying it. If it isn't on GamePass then I still won't buy it. I am done buying anything from Activision.

If Call of duty does remove Sbmm we will finally get a good game 😊

Yes I'm sick of BRs too. The last COD I played was Cold War and I personally enjoyed that game. I pre ordered MWII and tried the beta, but I didn't like it so I refunded it after the beta ended. I will be getting BO6 (mainly for Zombies). I don't think they'll remove SBMM because of Omnimovement creating a bigger skill gap and higher skill ceiling than ever before. If they removed SBMM, all the casuals (Who are the majority of the playerbase, probably don't watch COD videos at all, who don't even know what SBMM is and they probably don't even care about it in the first place, who only cares about cool skins) will most likely get demolished a lot and the player retention will decrease significantly. The reality is that the casuals are the ones who provides the most profit, not long time fans such as COD content creators, viewers, COD esport fans and those who are very vocal about COD in the YT comment section, X and Reddit. These group of people (long time fans) are in the minority believe it or not. Even with all the SBMM rant videos and comments all these years since MW19, theres still not enough people complaining for Activision to change SBMM, because most are pretty content with how COD currently works. Its definitely a generational difference too I think. The younger generation whos first COD is MW19 and onwards, probably thinks this is completely normal, and you can't really blame them for being born into this COD era of MW19 and up.

Yeh I played 2 matches of this and uninstalled. For something that got delayed so long it's horrible. Barely any weapon choice. The starter guns are garbage with pisspoor hit registration. Same spawn point the entire match. It's a mess. So long for this being cod killer it's got no chance in this state.

Once the hit reg and net code are fixed, Xdefiant will be great. For now, it’s decent.

Yes i did and cod lost 60% of the players compared with November 2022 on steam. On Xbox only MWII is above XD

They will always have some kind of hidden balancing because of poor skilled players being a huge majority and also cheaters. Game would die very soon without it.

The no sbmm in xdefiant will only last so long. Once the panic jumpers run them all off then they’ll be stuck jumpshotting each other and it’ll be back to sweat on sweat

Yeah, I'm not buying Black Ops 6. I recently rebuilt my PC, no Activision's titles to be found, I'm done until they do right by consumers. It blows my mind how they seem to be able to circumvent retail law. When KZreadrs such as yourself start giving their approvals, then MAYBE I will have a look. Activision is like the bad side of a breakup 😆

i am a mid tier COD player at best and the game matches me againt player of equil skill at the moment based on my last 10 games or what ever. Aprat from Defient game not having a solid engine like cod your mixed in with nutters that eat sleep and shit defient. for casual play i think i prefe SBMM

XDefiant has its flaws. But it’s way more fun than modern COD. No sbmm is enough for me to keep supporting. I can play for hours and not get frustrated. I’d like more in depth career stats, but I’m sure they’ll work on that. This game does not need kill streaks. If you want streaks, go play COD.

Ah, you have inside information?? From what i have heard only MWII has more players than XD on XBox. At Steam cod lost 25% compared with December 2023. If you you compare the Steam numbers with November 2022 they have lost more than 60% of their players. I am not talking about revenue but about active players.

They will never create a decent COD game. Think about it ,makes zero business sense.

Hell no! SBMM works! And all XDEFIANT has proven was SBMM is not why games are sweaty. Players are just sweaty. Especially streamers and KZreadrs! XDEFIANT needs to actually make a profit. Not just have people playing and not spending money. They need actual casual players willing to drop dollars. But the sweats will make damn sure casual won't stay long enough for that.

No they wont. Sbmm ensures casuals that underpreform get adrenline games that keep them playing. Casuals take up more than half of the entire playerbase for shooters in general and since COD is a numbers game now, retaining playercount is more important and therefore wont change their outlook. If xdefiant manages to put an adequate size hole in CODs playerbase, it wont happen. I havent olayed cod in quite a bit but the queue time for xdefiant is already lengthy and more than half the games are join are already a quarter to three quearters of the way through the match when I join, that tells me that playercount isnt as high as it should be. Last time I played cod I atleast remember games forming quickly, and mostly all of them starting from the beginning. Luckily, I think xdefiant is doing a good job at making people see that COD is far too manipulated - but at the same time, its for good reason. No sbmm is far more punishing than sbmm and thats coming from a really good player. (4kd in cod/ 3.2kd in xdefiant, with a w/l of 4 on xDefiant and 600spm - 3200 avg. Skill rating)
