This works! I was losing hope thinking I would have to pay for a repair or open it up and fix it myself but no need. Just a Lil patience. I had to completely unplug everything from the Xbox and the TV power cord as well for atleast 10 minutes and then tried this process and it came right on. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this video! I will, however, say that it did not work for me, and I was literally about to take drastic measures. And luckily, I didn’t have to. So when i was holding the two buttons, to do the reset, I had to let mine beep three times. After trying your way several times, I just decided out of pure aggravation honestly, just to keep hold of them longer and then found that it beeped a third time and it finally reset and worked. Either way I would’ve been lost without this video completely so thank you so Much, and if anybody else is having issues doing what he says not working, try holding the two buttons a little longer and wait for another beep!

to save time when un plugging electrcal devices instead of waiting for a minuite or two you can just turn the power button on while its unplugged this helps dissipate any energy that remains in the system

Thanks. This reset worked for me. Interesting thing is when it did come on, it set up like a new Xbox. Seems the device totally reset. When it did come up, it was trying to set the video to 4k, which did not work, but 1080P did. Don;t understand why it did this to begin with since I have been using it in the same set-up for years. Thanks again.

Appreciate it for your help. It took me time but thank you for your help. I finally had to use my Apple TV to use the Xbox extension cord. I don’t think it came with the box or anything so thank you once again, sir appreciate it.

Note: if the safe mode didn’t pop up for you I have the solution, you might have played with different screens that your Xbox changed the resolution to 1440p. Go to another good screen that support 1440p or 4K and change the resolution to 1080p or 720p. Also enabling CEC is very important to let your Xbox change the resolution automatically depending on the screen resolution. Hope that helps you.

This didn’t work at first BUT I seen someone say to unplug every chord plus the tv power chord from the tv, wait 10 minutes then do what you stated in the video, IT WORKED🎉

I just had this happen to me and was very frustrated. I have a smart tv and this method did NOT work for me. What I ended up doing (which was what someone said here in the comments) was to unplug EVERYTHING. The tv, the Xbox, the power cords, hdmi, everything. Wait 10 minutes then plug it all back in then start up the tv then turn on the Xbox. It worked and my screen is back on

do you know why whenever i put my series s on 120hz my screen will sometimes flicker to the point where i can’t see play the game at all or it just makes it straight black with a bar on the top that shows a little bit.

Another thing you can do is restart your TV I have a Roku tv and my Xbox was not coming on but I went to another room and tried my older TV that does not have built in Roku and it worked fine so I went back and reset my TV that was having the issue with my Xbox and everything worked fine the only thing I had to do was reset up the game setting for the display

I did all that but once I changed the resolution to 720 p "what my tv supports" it gives a no signal sign then reset back to 640 x 480 after 20 seconds would really appreciate some help

Got to the part with the 2 start up chimes. It chimed twice then I let go of the start button but it didn't turn on safe mode as the display was still black. The console did feel a bit warm to the touch so I'll leave it for an hour or two and try again

Thank u so much man ive had my s for about 7 months man and its amazing going super strong all of a sudden 2 tvs i use daily wouldnt read my hdmi cord the orginal one with it so i thought ok maybe the cord went bad from use cause i tried it in both tvs and nothin so i switched to my 4k hdmi 2.1 that worked in one of the tvs and it displayed wrong in another and didnt read it at all in another port so i did the auto detect thing and switched it to hdmi that worked but when i woke my tv didnt like that it had a black bar accross it i thought i burnt it in the screen lol turns out it was a bug i think i followed ur steps i mean i did them completely backwards bur it worked nonetheless lmao thank u so much i thought my lil system that could took a dump

the problem only seems to happen on roku tvs a simple tv reset fixed it for me

What i did is flip the hdmi cord it seems only one end works :/

My system is brand new and nothing looks wrong with the port. It was also working just fine last night. Might be a bug. If not they better give me my money back lol

I tried this method a few times but it didn't work. I reset the TV. It still didn't work. Everyone in the comment says it happened, but it doesn't work for me. What should I do? This was happening to me, and I did exactly what he said in the video, and now it stopped. Try resetting your console as he did it in the video. Hope that helps!

try turning off the TV and xbox for a while totally disconnected and try again

I'm having similar situation on my Xbox One S. No display and the controller is not paired. Checked my router page and the xbox is not connected either. Tried different HDMI cable/displays but no luck. I don't hear any Hard disk failure noise and I can hear the spinning noise. Could it be display port or IC issue ?

When I plugged in my Xbox and turned it on, I turned on the tv like I always do before playing, but everything was on the Xbox, and the tv, but the tv was on a black screen and I did everything but nothing.
