If you plugged it in to the hdmi out instead of the hdmi in like you're supposed to from the start it would have worked. Thanks being annoying for people who are having actual problems with their consoles, not people who are dumb enough to plug it in the wrong port to start with.

mark Reid When i got xbox one i plugged cable in hdmi out and it worked fo idk 2 years...? and then i got to garwolin to hospital (no p injury. it was mental one.) cause i wasnt going to school HALF OF A YEAR! And after these 3 months i got back home and then i tried to play on xbox one and it didnt work. its still on hdmi out. any ideas?

mark Reid i didn't know it was 2 hdmi on x1, almost tossed it in the wall.... it worked fine 10min ago, then i borrowed the hdmi for the ps4, then switched back, thought the switch somehow f**** up the xb1.... thanks xD

So not sure wtf but my HDMI out wasn't working. Then I plugged it into the HDMI in as you had it and followed the steps. I thought this was a joke at first but figured why not give it a whirl. Thanks!

FYI, if any of you are still having a problem... my Xbox started doing this a few weeks ago and I didnt really decide i cared enough until today... Anyways, Mine had a problem where i would boot the Xbox but It would sit at the Detect Screen (Yes I had it plugged into the right port...) After messing around with it for a while, It turned out to be that my power surge protector strip was kind of shit... I plugged everything right into the wall and everything booted up perfectly. Hope this helps...

Wrong it's the 24 hertz setting that needs to be deactivated in xbox settings. Power cycle console go to settings then display settings advanced settings then untick the 24 hertz box
