Thanks so much for this video! It makes it so much easier to adjust these rotary switches using my VelocityOne than using my mouse to move the knobs up and down.

Good tutorial. I already set up my Vel1 for this, with some different mappings and including FLC. Here is my mapping: A: FLC mode, B: VS mode, X: HDG mode, Y: ALT mode. Hat1 UD (Up/Down): Alt; Hat1LR: Hdg bug, Hat2UD: FLC and VS. FLC and VS don’t interfere as you can use only one of these modes at the same time. By Clicking either A or B you choose which one. AP master and NAV mode are set to 2 buttons on the throttle quadrant. This way I make use of the XBox ABXY buttons, which I think is more logical. X for horizontal moves (Hdg bug), Y for vertical moves (Alt). A and B remain, not much logic in that. I have my Hat2LR set to rudder trim, with the small button on the right for rudder trim reset. This way I don’t need to use too many buttons on the throttle quad. If you like you might even use none of them for AP functions, for instance making a combo of LB+A,B,X,Y. LB and RB are mapped to brakes, so these don’t interfere when in the air. Hope this helps some of you setting it up even better.

@Huddison, thanks for another excellent tutorial! Saves the bother of having to reach out frequently for the mouse, for interacting with the rotary knobs on the display! Please update the Logitech Yoke & Throttle recommended key mapping tut that you'd made earlier, to include these rotary settings controls too. I foresee a problem in that, since the Logitech Yoke & Throttle don't have any"spare" / unmapped keys!

Another very informative video! Keep them coming 👍 By the way, I saw you sitting on runway 27 at eglc this morning, possibly while filming this. I flew touch and goes touching the runway where you were parked then bouncing back into the air to do it again 😂 I shot you a friend’s request on Xbox, feel free to ignore it, I’m used to it LOL. I actually enjoy using my mouse to use buttons and switches in the cockpit, imo it adds to the realism, as you have to click/push them irl. I do have buttons set on my hotas one to do most of the major functions for when there is a lot going on, but I try to click the cockpit ones when able. I’m most likely going to sell my Xbox one X, don’t need it as I have a series X, and try to sell my hotas one in order to buy the turtle beach velocityOne, or maybe trade them both in for store credit at GameStop to use on the VelocityOne.

I have followed the video and mapped said buttons to my numeric pad on keyboard and works perfectly. What I would like to know is if you fly a plane without GPS ect how do you lock in a course and follow said course. In a modern plane used in video it follows the flight plan but if you have no gps how would you do this?

Great videos thanks. I took your advice and mapped the increase autopilot reference altitude (to the b11 button on my velocity one (decrease to b12) not the hat switch). The reason i chose b11 is I want all the autopilot controls on the b3 to b12 panel. Problem is the altitude increases in increments of 2200ft not 100 ft like the way you have got yours set. Any tips how to fix that?

There is one setting I really need that does not map as far as I know. That is GPS map zoom, which I use often. In flight I want to have an overview of the GPS Map, but at approach I want it zoomed. But FS2020 (to my knowledge at least) has no function to select the range knob. Or did I just miss that?

@@Huddison Don’t waste your time, James. I have checked several websites that have listings of keyboard mappings on FS2020 functions and none of them mention either selecting the range knob or map zoom or whatever. There is a change request in the FS2020 queue asking for this (and many more Garmin features) to assign a keyboard shortcut to it, mainly from pc users with a extensive home cockpit. But the status of this request seems unclear.
