Promises and lies are strong words, people need to relax - at the time of the showcase, they expected the games in the next 12 months...they needed more time and that's the right thing to do, always

So how many of the people "holding Xbox to that 12 months" are going to SKIP Starfield because it fell outside of June? I'm guessing NONE.

I wonder more and more how much Forza and Starfield delays might be shifting dates because whatever was targeting this fall wasn't going to make it so they gave Todd even more time to work with and Forza right now behind the scenes probably has 2 dates in mind. One sooner if another game can fit in fall and if it's looking like it won't Forza backs up into that spot. And if it can then Forza moves up a couple months to probably before Starfield. Think Xbox is juggling dates big time. ActivisionBlizzard might be playing a part too. As in not wanting to drop either one of those on DIablo IV. If deal is looking like it'll close by June then they will have that and COD to find room for and not drop on top of each other. Really hated how close Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite multiplayer wound up being

Microsoft doesn't want to create hype and excitement around Xbox because they want to look weaker competition to Sony to get the deal done. That's why their first party exclusives are releasing after June because the deal is expected to close by June. Phil Spencer's job is also on the line depending on how the deal goes.

Really disappointed about yet another broken promise by Xbox Game Studios. I am so tired of this companies communication and performance. There is mismanagement all over the place. I damn wished I had decided for a PS5 again, instead of switching to the Series X. This console might have had potential, but it never got released by Microsoft. 😞

Nice lies there buddy. Hi Fi Rush in January, Minecraft Legends in April, Redfall in May, Starfield in September, Forza Motorsport in late 2023, Stalker 2 in 2023, and Ark 2 in 2023. As much as I want a polished game when it eventually releases it is frustrating that Xbox/Bethesda have announced this game as fall 22, then first half of 23 only to delay it again. It’s almost intentionally misleading at this point.

Technically, it's playable now. Just not by us.

Will pay full price for this one and Hellblade 2.

Are you planning on pre-ordering it. If not then it's irrelevant if the game has gone gold or not. So unless you are pre-ordering it or you're doing this dumb stuff the cyberpunk fans did and use vacation time then it really doesn't matter.

Strangely, Rand says he wants quality, so if any of these so-called games were released and played like crap with bugs everywhere, you'll be happy with that? For me, I'd like to see a highly polished game that could live without the" day-one patch", so if it misses its deadline to fix these bugs then let it be.

Its going to be major jank with bugs and glitches galore. Just like every single other bethesda game. And then they'll expect madders, read free labor, to fix the game like always.

I’m not mad or disappointed it’s coming later in the year. It gives me time as a casual gamer to finish other games

They should’ve crunched to make the deadline. It’s not like Bethesda is constantly putting out games so crunching once every five years ain’t gonna hurt anybody.

So they are delaying Starfield almost a year, just like Halo. Not that i'm complaining, i have enough to play. If they need the time they should take it.

Pretty sure Ara was never releasing first half 2023. Maybe they're talking about their technical alphas or a beta? Iono. I want them to take their time getting that one right.

Do people get mad over delays? Shit happens. I get upset when games are completely canceled. Hell I'm still mad at Capcom for canceling Dead Phoenix on the GCN.

But some people can't understand that Xbox is literally rebuilt its first party. Its going to take time and 7 years(Including locked down) isn't enough if you want quality.

They said they were targeting the 12 month window if you had read the fine print

It feels like people forget that delays are a good thing, it just depends how that additional time is used. Now if Starfield got 5 delays, then that's concerning. Lol Skull and Bones got multiple delays, and has been in development for a decade.

delays arent a good thing..... cyberpunk was delayed, halo infinite delayed, duke nukem was in development for like 10 years, theres no correlation between dev time and quality of the game tbh. its more about management and utilization of tools.

​@Tripster60 You're right about management and utilizing the tools. Though delays can benefit, the Publisher sets them at times. Cyberpunk was a mess due to both management and the engine they used, Halo Infinite was also management and the engine, including a ton of outside contractors.

Couple of my guesses were correct. I guessed Redfall in may. Starfield in September. I guessed Forza Motorsport in march, that was completely off. I'm still holding on Avowed or Hellblade 2 on the holidays. Or if it's not any of those two maybe something we don't know about yet or a game that we know about but not expected to come out for Fall. It's shaping up well this year. Plus all those games they announce in E3 last year that will come out spordically through out the whole year.

The bigger the project. The bigger the uncertainty. Honestly, it's always management's problem with over promising. Engineering wise, we build in risk of slip to our schedules.

it would be silly to release 5 first party games in the first party of the year and nothing in the second half. I like the format of last year e3. The were actually planning to release alll the games in the next 12 months. no surprise starfield release after abk deal is closed.

ABK deal is the reason, Microsoft is trying to stay low profile before June. Once the deal is closed, Microsoft will start firing on all cylinders.

This video / update saved my day. Was having a VERY frustrating time trying to get an HDMI switcher box to work with multiple consoles and a miniPC because of weird 1.4 and 2.0 and 2.1 cable differences etc.. so thanks for this video haha. Now my mood is good again.

I'd be worried about Starfield and Redfall hype overlap if there are both second half of year. I'd push Redfall to 2024 because Starfield is going to be huge!

The gameplay on the screen looks like it’s running very smoothly, wonder if there will be a 60 fps performance mode 🤔

The narratives don't matter, Xbox fans need to stop being insecure. Quality is there and we want to maintain the quality. The release cadence will come and when it does we'll be eating so good that none of this fanboy drivel will matter. Boo hoo not in June. I care more about them spacing out the releases and giving Redfall its due, which I pointed out in other podcasts that this was the correct marketing move. Sometimes, people need to get out of their feelings (and listen to Kuri). Beside, I'm willing to bet you all forget the whole broken promises thing when 1) Starfield launches and it's amazing 2) "One more thing" Hellblade 2 gets a release date.

There was never a "promise" that every game would release in the next 12 months. There was a disclaimer which said that dates are subject to change. If you're so hurt about games slipping from that time frame, sorry to say but you need to grow up. I had to skip past all the whining and complaining, and that meant I had to skip half the video. Why not just be happy and not spend 6 minutes ranting about everything you always rant about? You say that you'll keep it real when you come to Xbox, but people watching your show will also keep it real about your content.

Xbox keeps overpromising and underdelivering.

After almost 1 1/2 years of extra development time and funding from a trillion dollar company, this game should be bug free and have a steady frame rate on top of a great story and next gen gameplay. If it doesn't, what's the point? I got my Xbox Series X in August 2021. So far, the only games released from Xbox's first party were Forza Horizon, Halo Infinite, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Just recently we got HiFi rush. It's definitely a good game, but it was more of a hell Mary pass into the endzone to extend the game into overtime after fans had begun to leave the stadium. This is just like that moment. Starfieldand Redfall should be the primer for all the failed promises from Microsoft. They can't afford to screw this up. If they can't get handle their own studios, acquiring ABK would be disastrous.
