I think comparing Starfield to No Man's Sky does a disservice to both games. They are vastly different games. I don't know why it is so difficult for people to understand that Starfield is a Bethesda RPG and not some space sim with 18 quintillion planets. It even seems like people forgot that you could mine and craft things in Skyrim - they think No Man's Sky has a monopoly on mining or something. It's asinine.

It's in space it's exactly the same just like Sleeping Dogs GTA5 and Saints Row are in an urban area hence identical.

The answer is actually A because of the vernacular of the question. The closest time “TO” midnight is 11:55am, the closest “FROM” midnight is D 12:03 am. One is in terms of before in the past, and the other is in terms of later and the future. It’s like asking how many more blocks until we get to the next McDonald’s after you just past a McDonald’s but there’s no way to get back to it. Once midnight passed its now 24hours away to get “To” the next midnight.

If Goldeneye would have been featured in the Xbox showcase, it easily would have been one of the highlights. If they would have had the ability to reveal it there and chose not to, that would be Don Mattrick levels of incompetence.

Totally agree with king review of the show was very mid eventho redfall and Forza and starfield showed well

I am in the inverted camp, because I placed a lot or Red Baron and simply got used to it.

Seems like most people didn't like the 'next 12 months' format but I personally thought it was great. And I said this same thing the last xb2 episode but that image they showed at the end of the showcase is a crap ton of games all coming to gamepass within the next year. I do wish they would have let us know ahead of time though like Parris said cause that would've helped keep people's expectations in check.

I don't think it was the format. I think a lot of people including myself expected more heavy hitters to be out in the next 12 months. Indies, kiddie games and Japanese games don't cut it...

i think its more of a this wasnt the right time for that tbh in a year or so then 12 months would be amazing but the next 6 months is kinda a wash for first party then you only gave us half a road map for 2023. imo they should do the next 12 months around sept - nov because wed get a full calendar year roadmap and go all out for e3 showing games that release soon and show games in development etc with big surprises and fanfare. i think that would work way better

Right! The graphic after the show had 2 lists for 2022/2023. If they had shown a silk song on that graphic they would have had to pick a release year. They didn' want to do that.

They need to bring back SentUaMessage with Andy and Dan, create a new weekly show that can be streamed via xbox without loading another app up like YT. 360 we had regular videos.

I'm beyond hyped for dragons dogma 2 especially cuz of the re engine! monster hunter rise on switch looks incredible & its that engines doing!! Loved the discussion, debate, praise, and criticism of both Xbox and PlayStation. Hope there are more videos like this discuss both consoles, services. etc Hoping Microsoft would pay Sony enough money to allow COD on Gamepass. If not, then will probably just play COD on PS5 because of all the perks of doing so. The last PlayStation that I have ever owned before PS5 was PS2 and already missing some of the social aspects of Xbox and it’s network reliability.

Square is probably gonna put the 3rd and final part of the FF7 trilogy on Xbox before the first 2 knowing them.

The biggest question I have is the release dates of Deathloop/ Ghostwire Tokyo because they weren't included in the timeline...

@@AMG_gang ya there was going to be disagreements on this show so Jez skipped. You have never noticed that Jez only talks to people he agrees with? That’s why this episode was so good it had differing opinions.

Xbox needs to be more aggressive with its 3rd party deals. PlayStation aren't slowing down with its timed exclusivity but Xbox are limiting themselves to 3-6 months exclusivity on primarily AA games.

Here's my take on Final Fantasy VII Remake. Where Rand, Miles and King missed it and Colt was the closest. Yes it's business, but for years Square said that the PS3 tech demo of Final Fantasy VII was never going to happen that it would cost them too much money to make the game. I don't think Sony just came in to pay for exclusivity I think Sony came in to pay so that the thing even exists, and if that is actually the case I don't see an issue with it being exclusive to the Playstation, likewise when Microsoft originally went in to help pay for the original Mass Effect (prior to EA buy out it was published by Microsoft Game Studios) it was an exclusive game and was for more than a year. When Microsoft helped fund the Original KOTOR I don't have a problem with that. Microsoft over the years has funded plenty of titles that never ended up on PlayStation. I think if these first party companies help a title actually exist and there is a way to play it period I don't care which platform it ends up on in the end. I'm just happy it's out there. Does it suck it's not elsewhere? Sure, it limits the potential audience but going back to my original statement if you're helping this thing exist i'd rather have a limited audience than no audience at all.

The issue isn't the exclusivity. The issue is the communication. It was stated both publicly and in fine print that the exclusivity time was a year.

Because well we know square has a tendency of telling important details inside stories. Ultimately there are going to be a lot of people who already roll up into part two without playing the DLC. I'll live without playing FF7 Even though the original is very important to me. I just think making consumers play guessing games and playing with wording is bad practice.

These companies for probably legaliese reasons do all this funny wording, even going back to Forza saying that Ray tracing was on track... it's just srange wording and it's great that they clarified really quickly. I can't speak for Japan but the US has realy stringent marketing laws and people get sued for crap all the time for percieved mis-representation of the product. With that being said because that legaliese was in the FF legal trailer i'm curious if Square could get sued for that in the United States as a class action.

@@PushingPolygonsGaming I am fairly certain when Intergrade was announced there was a new exclusivity date at the bottom of the trailer, but if I remember correctly that was over just a couple of days before the new event.

Great show. I think what the MS shows of the future should still follow a next 12 months format however I think the should have a 10/15 minutes of 'future of xbox' - where they show surprised and updates on games a way off. DLC announcements like sea of theives etc, can be left to the side show to make room for this portion. While what really bugs me most with ff7 remake (I own a ps5 so doesn't effect me but I know the pain as I was tempted to wait.) Is that it's been two years and they can't just say - sorry its not coming to xbox. I'd consider that now..until crisis core was announced, a prequel. What's the point of releasing that everywhere if they had no plans for an xbox and even switch version probably via cloud. I just wish contracts could let them be honest about plans.

The thing about this is contracts change. Rand saying I prefer to play the this on Xbox because of the controller and achievements. Guess what, I prefer to play starfield on PlayStation because of the dualsense and trophies. Both companies are doing the same thing. Sony can only afford to moneyhat individual titles, while MS can do it for major publishers. It’s the world we live in. As far as media bias, the tomb raider thing is from a long time ago and it always favours the market leader. MS will be equal or grow bigger than PlayStation soon and at that point those questions won’t apply anymore. People have accepted Bethesda exclusives. Now if Amazon purchased a publisher they would be asked the same questions. Just take the fanboy out of it and it’s pretty simple.

@@maxminy5634 I know both companies have done it, but I think MS has usually said time of exclusivity and soon as that exclusivity ends its announced fir other platforms. Ff7 remake just seems to be a bit more extreme in this case. As said if we could just be told it will come or it never will, than those waiting with god like patience at this point know to bite the bullet (least they can get it on PC if they have a good rig) or go playstation. The contact just seems messy and over the top in blocking messaging if indeed its the contract doing so.

Now regarding the 30 FPS demo do you all forget HFW was always shown by Sony in 30 FPS mode! How do you all forget that? And I payed that game put in 100 hours into it and performance mode was terrible, a blurry mess with shimmer on all vegetation and colour degradation when spinning the camera and did anybody say anything no! Our community needs to grow a pair and stand up!

You're right about all that stuff, except IMO everyone loudly complained about the HFW performance mode from launch, it was ugly enough that most people played in 30fps. And Guerrilla listened, the last patch (1.16) totally re-engineered the TAA pipeline - which must have been a huge job - and 60fps performance mode is awesome now, no reason to play 30fps at all any more. Launching perfect is ideal, but actually fixing stuff is next best.

@@azzafdu what did Digital Foundry say “Masterclass in PS5 graphics” when it was reviewed a few days after launch. The new patch fixes it ye wonderful 2 months after launch after I completed what is a 1 and done game so that patch is useless to 90% of HFW owners. The only person who called it out was Vince from HDTV cos he’s not a shill! Digital Foundry this week did a review of Starfield pointing out the FPS drops. The game is 1 yr from release so what’s the point in reviewing it if only to dump all over it and appease the fanboys. How can anybody with any integrity call out the FPS drops and say it’s a “concern” on a game that is 1 yr away from release!

The Starfield bit didnt age well lol

The issue was never about the format, the format was fine, but it did highlight a 'continuing' lack of anything appealing coming to GP for the foreseeable. Persona in October, FH5 expansion (not GP) in July, then Starfield at some point. Not good. The show needed FF7 to fix 2022, and really show that Japanese commitment... a huge fail imo.

I feel like the double standards you guys brought up can fit in far different ways with perspective. From the Xbox bias standpoint you're obviously going to see more complaints from Sony fans, however I do feel like the Bethesda acquisition and Activision Activision were cheered by the masses. I get that Sony games don't go to PC day 1, but Sony doesn't buy megapublishers either. They've bought studios like housemarque, Haven etc who don't have IP's thriving on another platform. Again though, that's just my thoughts, love the show

King David on Starfield lol.... The game looks 2nd to No Mans Sky. As of right now, It looks boring. Hopefully, in time like NMS it will get better but at the moment it is what it is. The game and the people hyping this up are running on Hopes and Dreams and that's okay. The show was a 6 at best. Xbox will have its day but it wasn't this showcase. They need to channel the 360 days again. Now that's my dream! PC will most likely help to carry Starfield as the Mod community will help this game not be buggy and also realize its true potential. I look forward to what that community will do with it.

Let me put this into perspective for you ff15 majority of there sales came from Sony 79%. Xbox fans majority of them don't play jrpgs. Square Enix knows this and that why there biggest games the remake trilogy and ff16 and ff14 are only on Sony because they are better supported on that side. To further prove my point I bet you when crisis core comes out Square will make way more money from Playstation than Xbox.

In fact it might sell even less and people who skipped those games on PC or Xbox won't bother with those games and you won't grow the community there. SE made a brain dead decision. FF7R P1 sold around 5m on 100m userbase for a highly anticipated remake. FF7R P2 won't sell more and there will be more people on other platforms - PC and Xbox (and Xbox Series is not Xbox One anymore), who won't care about FF. Franchise will decline, but well SE does not care so...

@@Wraith921 The game was released in 2020 so it cannot be well over 5m now. Not to mention it went to PS+ later. It will have 6m at best. Sales curves are almost always exponential (only BGS games has incredibly long legs). But the point is it was 5m on 100m userbase. FF7R P2 won't reach those numbers, FF16 won't reach these numbers either and FF community on PS won't grow either (for obvious reasons). Also I am not sure why you take pride in being ripped off by SE and Sony but whatever floats your boat.

Intergrade came out and that boosted the sales it went on the epic games store it boosted the sales even more and now it's on steam and it's gonna sell even more now. I'm not getting "ripped" off. I'm just realistic and know that ff7R is an amazing game as with many other ps exclusive titles and it is worth the 60 or 70 dollar price tag put on it. Maybe if Xbox gamers weren't so cheap and supported these games they so called "want" on there platform then pay the money that it's worth. I have well over 110+ hours on ff7r and I can say I got my money's worth.

If it take 3 months to make a slice of game play. That's cool. Most they games 2 and 3 years away. Phil should have said take 3 months and make a game play slice of avowed hellblade 2 combat forza contraband. If they would have had those big games show would have been great and have all the small games for the 2nd show.

Phil is a good leader. But he does need help with the day to day stuff in the studios and that's suppose to be Matt booty. That's who I'm looking at. Phil is high up Matt suppose to be making sure these studios on point. And he dropping the ball on a few studios.

And then saying our biggest problem is starfield forces you to have to buy a second system?? This did not age well at all 😂 Also ff7 rebirth is ps5 exclusive and its better than starfield and all xbox exclusives combined lol.

Paris when we say we need gameplay and short term ANDDDDD long term that’s what a good show is. Sony when they do a big showcase will show you games for every year coming up. MS problem is they can’t produce games it’s that simple they never follow through.

You are insanely incompetent.

What u all failed to realize for the most part, was that u can't ignore what are some of their biggest games which included updates and such. While they weren't for u guys, which u have stated . They should still have been there, because of their huge audience. I gave the show a 8.5/10 and I stand by that score.

Colt's right, Square took a buisness deal and that deal in conjunction with a multilde of their other buisness decisions have made me realize I am done giving them my time or money. The FF7 thing wouldn't be as big of a deal if it wasn't for that fine print about exclusivity having an end date. That date has come and gone and both Sony and Square refuse to speak on it, (likely because of a new deal).... But that communication issue is EXACTLY one of the reasons the Tomb Raider drama happened with Xbox.... Oh, a former Square game. Nah, I'm done. I refuse to buy the prequel for a game being with held in such hushed manmer.

I don't think that all the stupid comments about Starfield comes only because console warring. It has been since F4 and Fallout 74 the a lot of people start to put hate against Bethesda. Starfield was a failure from the start for them. "Surpisengly" Starfield is a Bathesda rpg x 1000, not an Fps, not an action, rts, etc..

Sony state of Plays have been so weak that 2022 Xbox Showcase was solid. There have to be indies, there have to Be games I don't like personally, because it's about game pass. Diversity, best games for everyone.

The thing is, there has never been any indication that Final Fantasy 7R would come to Xbox, if anything it's just been assumption based around 0 evidence. I get the disappointment but the outrage is unwarranted, especially with gamers acting like this was a done deal and is owed to Xbox gamers. Also "Microsoft should go and give a bag of MoNeYyzz to acquire Square" is such a piss poor non-solution, is that really gonna be the tantrum method everytime a gamer doesn't get what they want? 😂🤦

Bethesda has always kinda been crap lol. I mean where it counts they deliver. Skyrim, oblivion, morrowwind... all great games BUT dont act like they weren't graphically on the lower end of what was out there at the time, with the most bugs, that used the same engine for literally a decade almost. Bethesda was great when the competition wasnt where it is today. Now Bethesda is being left in the dust. There hasnt been a good bethesda game since skyrim. That over 10 years ago...

A lot of the Starfield hate are by the PS fan boys who can't play it.

I swear that is literally the worst take from this podcast. Sure, there will be some ponies who'll just hate starfield to hate on it but most of the concerns with starfield are logical. The performance issues, the procedural planets, the unresponsive gunplay, and the dated graphics. These are all valid criticisms. That said, i loved both Skyrim and Fallout 4 so i will most probably end up loving Starfield too unless it's just too buggy at launch.

damn goes to show you cant fix bad taste with starfield. standards must be really low nowadays huh? truly a mystery as why giant game corps keep getting away with poopy products. sounds like youre playing the game to support the company more then the actual game.

I disagree with King, he might not of liked things but he is way off to think that people were in a "low" moment. SMH

That is about the most annoying intro music of all time.

Weeks like this are why I miss Jez, he’s always pretty level headed about these things and it’s balances things out. I don’t listen to the likes of Colt Eastwood and Miles (too fanboy IMO) so it’s a shame we have to listen to them for 4 hours airing out their fanboy grievances.

Elder Scrolls VI…man been waiting since 2011. 2025-2026 sounds about right. Production for them takes about 3-4 years. With a beefed up studio by Xbox $ and talent. Fallout 5? 2030-2032? Q how does From Software keep killing it? Dark Souls 1-3, Sekiro, Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Demon Souls…likely Armored Core and Elden Ring 2 all out in between Elder Scrolls V and VI

Also xbox game pass way over exaggerated as a good value. Ps5 literally has a version thats better and its never talked about cause nobody cares. Xbox gets exclusives day 1 ps5 dont but the library is games is like tripple. Still dont get hyped up. Cause again its not that big of deal. Game pass is?? Meh.
