Interesting. At my HS you were allowed to wear as many arc pins as you were awarded, but usually only three medals.

I just randomly found this video. Glad I did. I was a member of this Regiment, which has been in existence since 1886. In 1935, Xavier’s military program became a JROTC unit. A special shout out to my X-Squad brothers. No Shame!

Our marksmanship badges were the same as used in the U.S. Army, but with the designation "Small Bore Rifle" (we used .22 cal match rifles for qualification; obviously nowadays you can't have a firearm in a school). We drilled with the real thing, too: M-1 Garand rifles (with firing pins removed) and later M-14 rifles (with firing pins removed). For military funerals, we used one of the seven rifles that still had firing pins so we could fire blanks. JROTC 1970-1973

We're allowed to wear whatever we were awarded. There's no limit to how many arcs or medals we can wear. However, the Cadet Reference Guide states that the arcs must be placed 1/8" apart from each other and centered on the pocket.

We only get those black jackets if we are Cadet of the Quarter

From JROTC 1970-1973: The awards are different -- and more standardized -- than when I was in ROTC over 40 years ago. Some of the ribbons given for some things mean entirely different things now (e.g. the ribbon for "Best Dressed MT2 for the Year" is now an "orienteering" ribbon. Don't know if a medal comes with it or not. Even during my 3 years in high school, a ribbon given for one thing (honor company) was 2 years later given as a "commendation". And when I was awarded a medal during my last year, they didn't have one to give me and promised me one ... which I received years later. And we didn't take the enlisted collar brass and move them down to the lapels.

Man I wish I have a high school that has (army or marines) JROTC in it. I mean there are 2 schools that had it close to me but it’s really not a good school I would go to because of fighting etc etc

Idk if anyone will see this but I’m a CPL LET 1 and I just got a class a jacket due to special events. Does anyone know how spaced my ranks need to be from the top pin?

According to my battalion, you can use 5 arc pins and I haven't seen that red and blue sholder cord. I know that the only combination of colors that you can use is black and yellow and it is for shooting 200 points or more.

Ohhhh ok sorry for my audacity I just wanted to know what it meant. IN my school at PR the highest shoulder cord for any team is the masters.

Ok so the people that say you can wear as many arc pins as u want. That’s not true you can wear 6 max.

My school allows as many arc pins and ribbons as awarded yet you can only reach the rank of lieutenant colonel and you can only have 7 medals

Ribbons are allowed to have 1/8 inch spacing

i wear all 30 ribbons, 17 arcs, ared all badges...not just three
