They were phenomenal to see live with Dianne, and thankfully also with Ambre. I love how versatile Ambre is vocally. She has such strong stage presence too.

What you hear is her live voice. Of course we had a much better recording of the audio than what you can get with a phone held up in the air. Compare official live DVDs of bands with phone recordings here on KZread. That’s just the difference it is.

It was super hot that day, she passed out from the heat as soon as they went off stage. It's understandable that this wasn't her most energetic performance ever.

I'll never understand why a band like this would not have a keyboard player and decide to rely heavily on backing tracks instead to supply the symphonic element and harmonies. It just cheapens the performance.

Understandable question of course. There’s only very little actual keyboard sounds though. What you hear is a big number of orchestral instruments and a real choir. It’s impossible to play all of these on a keyboard, it’s not even the same thing. Even when you see symphonic metal bands with keyboard players, they usually play only 5% of what you think is played by a keyboard live. The rest is also backing tracks. So the actual question would be, why don’t we have a 75 musicians orchestra and a 40 singers choir on stage with us ;-)

Remember these bands play small venues, not heavily streaming so it is obvious budgets are not that same... Let's embrace good music .

Always wonder how bands feel going from a stage such as this to the absolute shit venues (hello Ottawa) that they are forced to play in. So many better venues in the city that where they're booked.

Reading the comments, I am probably the only one who thinks that even if she has a high potential she sounds very weak, even in her own songs.. the official live videos are also quite retouched compared to the amateur shooting, and I'm not talking about the recording quality which is of course better in the professional ones.. very disappointing

I couldn’t agree more as I am used to Tarja Turunen style. I prefer more theatrical and dramatic soprano, however she smashed the high notes in Universal song🤓

@@teslalover88 yes, it's a good song but I'd like to hear it live.. I mean, in studio I can reach those notes as well (ok, it's very unlikely, but you know what I mean 😅).. they prentend she sounds perfect, this way I'm afraid she will never improve..

Manuela is amazing and Dianne is from another planet.. this situation reminded me about Tarja-Anette (personally I love all NW singers), with the difference that Anette sounded good live in her songs and improved a lot.. I hate to say that and it's not her fault, but I believe that if Ambre wasn't pretty she would have received the same treatment as Anette

These type of songs as well as the actual style of metal require more operatic/dramatic/theatrical vocals with gothic elements let alone the emotions as you have to deliver the message…well, what interests me the most actually in symphonic metal, hence Tarja will always be my number one Queen🤗🤘🏼

Because both of them are metal symphonic. Even though, Nightwish is putting other elements in their albums and they are following a specific genrer anymore. The last álbum has just 2 songs with symphonic elements.

The albums they released between 2012 and 2017 sound a lot like vintage Nightwish with Tarja’s vocals.

In our day we had to put up with zeppelin clones. Now it's non stop nightwish clones. Doesn't anyone have an original idea for look/sound of a band anymore?

She should listen to more metal and actually learn what metal is about...
