    Nice video mate, just curious was the ladder wide enough to easily balance your mill or would you suggest maybe rails aligned at a wider distance, love your work👍👍

    Am I wrong or is the cut at 10:07 blowing sawdust instead of nice ripcut noodles?

  • @BlaiseBrogan

    Yes your right because we’re gutting end grain not side grain. I hope that makes sense? Cheers

    Where did you get the extra long upright bars for your Alaskan mill? Can they be ordered from somewhere or did you fabricate them yourself?

    Why is it that the sawdust really only come out of one side when it's a double engine mill?

  • @danjackson1685

    @danjackson1685

    There's only one chain traveling in a circle hence the sawdust only coming out one side

    How do you dry slabs that size and how do you stop them cupping and twisting?

  • @BlaiseBrogan

    Are these the slabs that copped for sticker stains?, I have heard it said that cutting stickers from the same species reduces the chances of sticker stain, I don't know if its good info though, beautiful looking wood does it have an aroma to it, I visited a sandalwood mill in Rajasthan India and you could smell it half a mile away

    Hi mate, Yes I have heard that too, I use pine I have had it where it soaks a bit of the colour out of the wood but after sanding you can't see it. The smell is great like you say, great to have you on the channel bud. Blaise

    I had one set up like that with only the one saw and the log in question was in the woods on a slope. I figured to not be on the downhill side of things and the upper side where I needed to be was blocked so I couldn't go that way. So on the low side and push the saw up the log I go. I used wedges and such but this I never expected. I got within about five or six inches from the end and not paying attention to all detail. All the sudden it split off and come down sliding to the low end. I tucked and rolled up to the bottom of the tree I was cutting on and it slide harmlessly over me to the ground below. After that, I never took my eyes off a cut. I almost got religion over that one!!!/LOL

    Instead of speeding up the wedge work, do it to the boring sawdust production.
