Yes, spend time with your son while he is young, he will want to hang with his friends as he gets older, part of growing up. But, he will always remember the things you do together.

Scott, I am hearing the President George II can be purchased in Canada & about the same price as the FCC US one. You still need to clip the wire to open it fully 12 meters to 30 MHz once done. Stock comes with 40 channel US/EU band & UK 40 channel old band which isn't used here FM only.

I would think whoever is selling it at that price is taking a big loss. Probably not authorized dealer which would be bad for them and either case even if they were. The radio is not allocated for the Canadian or American market and therefore could not be sold by authorized dealer of President. The cost of the George 2 is much higher than the George FCC. If they are selling them good luck to them. I will not be selling the George 2 in America.

I still have the first original 10 meter President George I bought back in 2001 and it still works great, I may look into getting that new version, the later models President radios have a factory service menu, have you figured it out for the George?

Yes they supplied it to me for being a dealer. It's very basic and this is just a 40 channel CB but it's an excellent CB radio with all modes.

IMO..we don’t need a vid on every radio sold. Spend time with your son. It’s not a guarantee that he will want to hang out when he’s older but the chances are good. Support any hobbies he might get into. They get into A LOT!! LOL My 18yr son loves watching sports with me. Be it our Rams, Dodgers or Lakers. Trust me Mike..it’s so worth it!!!!👍🏼👍🏼

Occasionally for sales but not every single one, because then it becomes redundant. The young ones only stay young for so long. Time is valuable with them.

Greetings: Since CB has seriously degraded in popularity and use I have almost abandoned keeping up with it. As an electronics/ RF engineer and tech, I serviced and built many 'toys' back in the day. Said that, does this unit go "out of band"? U said it did not do 10M. The "beep" function is button and not 'end of transmission ' ? Is the equipment in the background 4 looks or it's purpose of circuit testing. In other words do U repair circuit board level? I would like 2 C the internal areas. I presume all micro-SMD and Chinese parts making repair difficult and a disposable unit.

I don't think you've been paying much attention for the last few years. I would say CB radio is at its highest popularity level since probably back in 1970's. Do I repair radios....Only my own equipment. I don't enjoy doing it. If it's one that I own with some sentimental value then sure. I would take the disposable Chinese radio over the older units. Way more reliable and sitting on frequency with any major circuit changes. "Modern FCC approved" CB radios will not be able to go out of band unless someone has the ability to rewrite the software code built into them. Everybody wants technology just look at the automobile industry. Personally I would prefer older technology in my automobile but I don't have a choice in that anymore. That's one thing you'll never hear out of my mouth. I will never call myself a Technician. I prefer the mondern radios. Everybody has their personal preference. That's what makes the hobby fun. My equipment is for my personal and business use. There is a Roger beep function on this CB radio, if you decide to use it.

@@ScottsRadios Greetings: No, I have not been keeping up on the new tech as I mentioned. About popularity, perhaps in Ur area. Me, being of the time as Tech and OTR driver, I remember the popularity. I know what I C now. As such I made the statement. Example: Trucking - Then 9 of 10 OTR drivers had radios. Now near the opposite. Many trucks do not have antennas. Then 30/cent in a community had base, mobile or both + Ch 9 monitoring stations. CB antennas flying all over. Now, try and get a response on 9 or even listen on other channels...Noise and skip. Then marine use was popular. Now, most do not know what CB is. U mentioned CB on FM. It was proposed legal. That was not passed. Nor was the attempt 2 make CB illegal in CMVs. Yet they passed laws prohibiting Cellphone use in CMVs. Yet there R data terminals and other 'toys' requiring typing and distracting hand functions not specifically illegal. Same in the '4wheelers'. New technology has made things more unsafe, expensive, degrading minds and responsible vehicle operation. That said, me semi-retired , if the market was there as it was I might have ventured back in it. Since not and I am well diversified I moved on 2 other income. Being a President (amongst other Brands) collector, I have and like the older units. As with most antiquities parts can B a problem. Still quality has stood the rest of time. Most everything manufactured after the 80s is junk...it was not "built 2 last". The US manufacturers and society lost that which made this country a Superpower and great then. ..Pride, Appreciation, Respect, Loyalty, Engineering. Respectfully I had U figured about right. Thx 4 the admission directly from U. U R not alone. I knew it was going 2 B a disposable 'software' world back in the 80s when Motorola came out with their stuff. Back when they were US. Indeed they were very proprietary and expensive. All would agree very top notch 'industry' standard stuff. Now, as with most, they R chines junk. Aside the above, U keep up what U do including family. Unless it benefits family it is not priority. Thx 4 Ur detailed explanation. B safe.

@@BatGS take care. Different strokes for different folks. I prefer amateur radio these days over CB. My main interest in CB is SSB. CB is a great tool. When the skip dies out in the next few years to come, the local coms will come back. Right now skip is so strong it makes local coms almost impossible with legal powered CB radios.

@@ScottsRadios Greetings: I agree. My things was HF, 220, 440. 2M CB was getting 2 B just that .. licensed VHF CB. Way 2 much long chatter, cursing and lack of Amateur Radio formality and respect. I was licensed back in the early 80s. I let it go when they demanded a SSN 2 get some other # 2 renew. Way 2 much BS and privacy invasion. About the same time the towers were hit ..as if Amateur Radio had something 2 do with that. A few years after came the Real ID Act. Government control masked as terrorist prevention. Further encroaching on citizen's liberties and rights . Governments R involving themselves and creating more and more 2 control not promote safety or benefit the Ppl. Pardones my digression. Ur section is no place 4 my political rants.
