Heath from X Japan just passed away from colorectal cancer that he was only diagnosed last month. I found your video looking for folks like yourselves appreciating X way before, while looking up the hide memorial show from forever ago, and you both are two good eggs and good souls. Love 愛。

X Japan, probably the biggest band to come out of Japan. Almost every rock musician in Japan was probably influenced by X. The guitar Yoshiki destroyed was a Killer (Killer is the brand) guitar mainly manufactured in Japan I believe. Many Japanese musicians use Killer guitars and bass guitars. It’s so strange to see Yoshiki on guitar every time since he’s the drummer and piano player for X Japan. And yes, HIDE was amazing. He passed way to soon and his passing was devastating, not only to his friends and family but his fans. That’s why to this day he is celebrated. There will never be anyone quite like him. Check out more X Japan especially while HIDE was still alive so you can see just how amazing he was. Anything live from their Blue Blood tour is so cool.

the guitar that Yoshiki destroyed is not killer. it's his signature guitar made by Fernandes. Fernandes Burny BG-125X.

X Japan are the original lords of Rock and style in Japan. Their sound has changed in many ways through the years so it’s a great journey. Always watch them live when reacting...

Ok from Experience I have seen XJapan several times. They did the same finish back in 92 but with Luna Sea, Tokyo Yankee's, and Virus were the bands back then, It was pretty much the same full performance. It's X Japan's usual ending if they are rocking with a large group of bands. I saw X in 89, 92, and 95 and saw them in NY a few years ago. They bring the house down.

Please do more X Japan. They have crazy backstory, they broke up because the vocalist (Toshi) got brainwashed into joining a cult who did mental and physical harm to him and pushed him to disband the band. Few months later after this concert, Hide (pink haired guitarist) killed himself (either by accident or on purpose), Hide had solo career going on and had very different music style compared to X Japan. Yoshiki who is the pianist/drummer/composer and lyricist, has deep background, from when he was born doctors told his mother he wouldnt live very long, he had severe asthma and a fragile body, his father committed suicide when he was 10, he was already into classical music (piano) but his mother got him drums as a gift. He started drumming hard to comprehend the pain and sadness and anger due his father's passing, eventually after drumming so hard he had to wear a neckbrace and take medication, he was even collapsing on stage for the lack of oxygen, Yoshiki had surgery done to his neck/back few years ago, without it he would be paralyzed. Yoshiki composed a song for the Emperor of Japan and a song for the golden globe awards, Yoshiki had his own comic done by Stan Lee. X Japan was such a huge impact in Japanese society from their punk-ish crazy style to the music, since there wasnt a lot of that type of thinking in Japan back then, they have crazy musical influence in japanese rock, there is timeline where they say music is after X japan or before X japan, they started Visual Kei style, which then originated a lot of bands in japan. Yoshiki directed a documentary about X Japan called We Are X! Its one of the best documents ive personally seen, people from guns n roses, kiss , marilyn manson and other greatly known bands said that if X japan was to be born in USA or they would sing in english they were to be the biggest band in the world. Spread-beaver is hide (Hideto Matsumoto) who died by accidentally falling asleep on a doorknob, doing some kind of neck-stretch while intoxicated, he died few months after X Japan disbanded in 1997, Yoshiki mainly did all of X Japans songs from lyrics to composing, but hide had done few songs for X Japan such as Sadistic Desire which is one of my favourites, and many others. hide's funeral was attended by 50 000+ people and flowers honoring his memory was stacked on 2km long lane, some fans even did copycat suicides after they heard the news. Hide has been compared to Kurt Cobain as a musician, he had extreme talent and vision about art and music, sadly we can only enjoy his musical achievements until 1998.

It's really moving to see all them together like this ! I discovered all these artists at the same time, around 2001-2002 and it was quite a sad moment in japanese rock as the tables were turning, X-Japan and Luna Sea disbanded, Hide had passed away... But a new generation was coming with Dir en Grey, MUCC, Miyavi starting his solo career etc. So glad I finally see all these band live in the past ten yaers.

quick side note for this particular event, the versailles boys also participated (4:35) along with their original bassist Jasmine You (3:47 in purple and black) who passed away the following year. i almost forgot as at this point in time it was very early in their career.

Oh my goodness, you just made my day guys 🖤 X Japan are such a great band. Choose any live performance (preferably before hide's death). the earliest stuff - although the videos naturally are not that good quality wise - has that angry punk vibes to it, while the last live is the most refined sound and imagery, while being a lot softer - so, so, so, so cool😎

I also feel like Hizumi's mic volume could've been louder but I'm just so happy i got to see him sing alongside Tatsurou & Takanori. I love d'espairsray, mucc, XJapan, spread beaver, t.m revolution, versailles, dir en grey etc so seeing them altogether like this was mind-blowing.

It's been a while since Toshi the vocalist of X JAPAN sang on the big stage like this. They disbanded because of the cult brainwashing Toshi and his left. Sad to hear his weak voice at that time but now his powerful voice came back!!!

In the top 50 of comments no comment about that: They did it often also in this song - everyone just switched. Drummer isn't drummer, vocalist is a bassist -> nobody play or sing in their normal roles.

X japan are a power metal band with 80's Japanese metal punk(interesting enough it was called metalcore at that era) influence, which means they share the inspiration with US youngster Devil Master. try Gustunk or G.I.S.M. if you have time and interest.
