X-Plane11 Tutorial - Making Airports NOT Suck - Part 1 - Gates and Ground Traffic

Okay! It's time to sit down and learn how to take a barren wasteland of an airport downloaded off the ORG/Gateway and bring it to life with a little elbow grease and airport design magic! This is part 1 in an unknown number of parts series on making airports looking pretty for X-Plane 11. Hope you find this useful and entertaining!

Wow. I've only watched 22 minutes and I've already known for 10 minutes that this is the best tutorial I've ever seen! You've already answered several of my questions just by talking about stuff. Thanks!

+1 Captain K-Man - Great tutorial! GroundTraffic will be perfect for my 1st scenery project, a tiny rural regional/hub airport (VTUV) in northeast Thailand, that is coming along very nicely in spite of the horrendous learning curve including frustrating roadblocks and searching for workarounds.

Nice video, but constant background music gets distracting at times.

My local airport is Joe Foss Field (Sioux Falls Regional) and while I was watching your (fantastic) video, I was thinking to myself how fortunate our airport already looks so good, but come to find out, it was you that did it. Trust me, as a person who flies out of this little airport a lot, it is spot on. Thanks for the great work. I learned a ton from your video!

Great tutorial! Thank you! If I want to improve a standard XPlane 11 airport, how do I get it set up as you have with KPHL, that is how to set up the folder with basic airport files? I want to update my home airport, KMHT. Thanks!

This is amazing, the amount of awesome tools out there now for scenery creation, that don't require a damn masters degree to run, is freaking sweet. I remember looking at wanting to do some simple scenery stuff back in X-plane 8/9, and I just couldn't get the motivation to do even basic things because of how much of a PITA it was to do literally anything.
