新世紀GPXサイバーフォーミュラ Cyber Formula 3D Animation

Here's another animation project. I had something like this in mind for two years now, it wasn't until last summer when I finally decided on what this project should look like. I started this project back in August with the modeling of the car, and then the track in September and October. November was busy with courses, final projects and exams so I had to put the project on hold. Then December rolled around and I worked on the animation, rendering and compositing nonstop.
The car is v-Asurada AKF-0 from the 90's anime Cyber Formula, and the track is the same one from the final race as seen in episode 37 of the original TV series. The animation shows the car exiting the pit lanes and running a lap around Fujioka Circuit. Anybody who remembers the old 1991 show will remember the Tornado Bank at the end :P
All the sounds belong to the original anime as well as some logos and names. Music is "Soul Twins" by Yumi Kakazu. Most textures are from CG Textures.
このプロジェクトのアイデアは二年前考えた、でもスタートは去年の８月。モデリングは一ヶ月の時間、そして九月と１０月の間サーキット作りました。１１月は大学の試験とプロジェクトありました、何も作りませんでした。そして１２月ほとんど毎日このアニメションを作るました。
アイデアは「新世紀GPXサイバーフォーミュラ」のアニメ出てきました。車はν-アスラーダ AKF-0 そしてサーキットはアニメの中の富士岡サーキット、エピソード37の同じです。誰か昔のアニメ見たら多分最後の「トルネードバンク」思い出すかも。
車の音は全部アニメからのです。音楽は「Soul Twins」カカズゆみの歌。ごめん、カナダ人から、日本語が苦手。テクスチャーは「CG Textures」のサイトからです。

ハイスピードエトワールもこのぐらいスピード感があれば良かったな、、、
いつのころからかブーストポットがジェットエンジンで加速させているように演出されているけど 設定上はあそこから圧縮酸素を取り入れて水素エンジンから出て来た水分が出てるだけなのよ
３Ｄモデルもよくできててかっこいいけど見せ方って言うか演出がまたいいね。天晴れ。

This is legitimately one of the very few things in this world that I listen to at a *very* high volume on repeat. I desperately want to see it remade, despite how incredible it already is (even if this is now considered amateur work by your standards).

やはり富士岡は全長3キロのイリュージョンストレートからのトルネードバンクですよね TVアニメ最終回のブースト全開でランドルと新条をオーバーテイクしていくシーンを思い出してしまいました
現在是2023年 這一版的3D作畫依然是目前看過最頂最有表現出速度感的一個。 只是沒有後續真的很可惜了~

凄く懐かしいです。自分も、ゲームやグッズなんか、めちゃコレクションしてたな。・・今や、三児のオヤジになってしまったけど。 でも、やはりサイバーフォーミュラは忘れることが出来ないでしょうね。

I haven't uploaded many more works for a long time now on my channel it's because I found work in the animation industry and have been busy since, and this project has helped me in that regard. I did have some ideas and considered modeling Kaga's Aoi Ogre, animating the three different modes and having a showdown between the two. I also wanted to re-make the circuit with new textures and shaders since I switched from a modeling artist to a surfacing/texture artist and now I cringe at my old works. I have other projects in mind outside of Cyber Formula but working in the industry is taking up most of my time and sadly my uploads have suffered because of that.

大変すばらしい再現度だと思います！！ 欲を言えばスパイラルブースト発動時のエフェクトや、排気の赤みが足りなかったことですかね。 是非ハヤトVS加賀さんが見たいです。原作ではちょっと不完全燃焼感があったので・・・

sweet! man you're awesome! it was my favorite childhood anime plus you made a real great work on this. Sure you really got awesome skills on your sleeve! I was also studying those 3d graphic and animation stuff. It's a hell of an inspiration!
we really need more of this, we need moar such a good fanmade animation, I APPROVE .
I like the sense of speed it have, imagine we have a full series of the anime recreated in such HQ 3D animation... so good.

I honestly would love to see another season of this show, but would probably still want to see it done in 2D since I feel like that was the charm of the old show. 3D will be tough because of the way the cars transform, but it could work if done right. I don't know how hardcore fans/purists would react going from 2D to 3D though.

I'll never get tired of this animation. Hey, mate, if you ever wanna remake this, lemme know. I can help with making sure everything's accurate to the anime. Also, I like to think this version of the AKF-0 is actually an early prototype, before the elastic tech and new rims were added.
One more thing I want to mention, the boost animation/effects is so good! Its the best I've seen by far!

I know I wrote on this Video 7 years ago, but now it’s still held up amazingly well. I do stand on a video in which the 2022 (in this case last year) Japanese Grand Prix duel at Tokyo GIO Circuit between Hayato Kazami and Jotoro “Bleed” Kaga would be amazing, but that’ll take a lot of time, especially we don’t have a clear picture of what the track would look like unless someone has the concept art book from Cyber Formula SIN. The 2018 Duel at Fujioka would be my second choice. Take that as you will since I’m a massive Cyber Formula fan in the United States

We're getting closer. Formula 1 2026 rule set is planned to include active aero. They will have high downforce (circuit) and low downforce (aero) modes.

@@RogueRail I wish F-1 tried with that, but I guess the Halo is the closest we’re going to get
Tornado Bank is already a nasty turn, and it was nothing short of amazing or suicide going 605 kph in the TV series. Now you have the v-Asurada AFK-0/G doing that same turn while going 707 kph! You must be willing to die in order to do that crazy of a stunt.

I mean, going around that turn at that Speed with the safety standards for racing we have today, I can totally see this happening. Such a shame that we don’t have the cars in Cyber Formula to test this out

All the active aero and fans is practically concepts from 1960s and 1970s. See Chaparrals cars. Boost is pretty much of allowing teams to have ability to use secondary engines as DRS but on steroids.

サイバーフォーミュラは本当に最高だ！！ 車のレース自体には特に興味は無かったし、ストーリーもまぁよくあるパターンでは あるんだけどやっぱ燃えますね。 加賀さんの軽くおちゃらけたキャラは、ＴＶ版では勿体無い感じでしたがＯＶＡでしっかりと 何度も活躍してくれて主人公よりも主人公してることもあって最高です。 大友さんがもっと活躍してくれたり、ハイネルやブーツホルツやジャッキーグーデリアンも もっと出番があってもなぁ〜 ランドルはＴＶ版とＯＶＡ初期まででその後は、ハヤトが調子悪い時しか勝てない感じで ちょっと見てて不憫ｗｗ 日吉は居るんだか居ないんだかｗｗ 一番巧く活躍したのは、新城かなぁ〜しっかりものの城之内みきも落としちゃってるし 本人の気が付かない所で、葵さんも気があったようなでドライバーの能力はちょっぴり 残念な感じで描かれ成績はアレなんだけど、愛されキャラかな？？ 一番の見どころはＡＩのアスラーダで、ＯＶＡも良いんだけど全部一通り見るとＴＶの 全体のストーリーとは関係ない話とか、ちょっと神がかった後半から最終話がやっぱ 一番燃えるかも知れない。 早く現実のＡＩがアスラーダ並に会話してくれて、自動運転や歌も歌ってくれればなぁ〜
カッコイイ〜 そのままゲームのオープニングとかに使えそう。

If you're ok with older graphics and a little bit of sailing seas, there were 4 PS2 games. though japanese only, most of the game's menus is weirdly in english.

オーガのスーパーエアロブーストも3Dで観たい
ものすごくカッコいいし、あの、あのオーバーブーストっていうかな？あれがまた、カッコいい。昔のF1の、フォードの六輪の事を思い出して何かもうね、興奮した。カーブを、曲がる時も、すごく感じがスムーズで、こんな、乗り物がF1に、出たら、F1も、人気が出ると思う。まあ、空想の事だから、仕方ないけどね。でも本当に当たったらいいなー。
