you're not lying about that! any X-Men game was big deal too especially with the success of the animated cartoon at that time. Nintendo Switch needs to bring this beat'em up game back. I use to show up to the arcades with a ziplock bag of quarters lol. the early 90s as a kid was something special and I'm glad I was there.

I remember it must've been about 91 I would've been 7 years old. I was in florida (i'm from the uk) playing TMNT and a girl joined me, we had a really good run then I ran out of quarters and she gave me some so we could continue. Mad that I still remember that. I hope she had a fantastic life.

I feel 10 years old again 😭, Night Crawler was my favorite.

Back when entering the movie theater or arcade hit you with raw sfx punches explosions machine guns racing tires squealing 16 and 32 bit voice overs digital soundtracks blasting from all directions at once! The smell of popcorn and junk food! Such nostalgia everyone who was born after this era of entertained truly missed out and words can't explain.

I tell that to my kids all the time. Getting dropped off at the mall in the mid ‘80’s and then driving to the mall in the early ‘90’s was the best thing ever. You could spend three hours in the mall and have the best Friday or Saturday night ever. Man I miss the old days. My brother and I spent many quarters in Aladdin’s Castle playing this and numerous other games. By the way, Colossus was my favorite X-Man. My late brother loved Wolverine.

....No matter how old I get, I will never get tired of the hilarious voice samples this game has graced us with....or never not laugh whenever The Blob talks shit shortly before getting knocked onto his ass and eating a 3-course beatdown XD

30 years later the X-men have returned to there right place as the heads of the marvel universe.

Played this with my 5 other friends every week. So many characters at the same time in a screen that I often had hard time finding where i am. Such a wonderful time.

Epic game. This game is such a big deal back then that everytime you hear colossus's scream you will immediately know that the arcades is nearby.

It used to be during the ps3/Xb 360 days but I think Konami lost the rights in the 2010s so they removed it. Now I think you're only left with the arcade 1up replica

This was the most fun game in arcade when i was a kid reminds me of my best time on this earth

This was a staple at almost every arcade or restaurant that had arcade games. It was so much fun playing this with friends or strangers at the arcade.

I grew up in the arcade era and this is exactly how I run all my retro games too. HD Graphics, no scan lines, just to see them in their best graphical glory. One of my set ups is thru a projector and it’s a blast playing any game on there. Awesome channel!!!

It wasn’t harder, you just didn’t know to not to stand on the same plane as the enemies when you were young.

I only played this game once in the arcade, and never again. Not because I didn't like it, but because I didn't get to enjoy it in the manner I wanted to. My parents only gave me four quarters. But after finally getting my chance to play this game for the first time in over 30 years, I was able to enjoy it in its entirety. And its just SO satisfying to plow through the enemies, defeat the bosses, and beat Magneto at the end. This is such a satisfying game.

This is why he's the best at what he does

I plays this on my PS3 and it's so awesome you can play your own music, I just play the X-Men theme from the 90s cartoon series on repeat. 😂

Gonna be wishing for awhile. Konami in 30 somethin years has only ever released it for consoles for maybe a 2 year span and on the arcade 1up machines recently. Could only download it illegally before. Still have it on my PS3 every now and then along with Simpsons, which actually did release for PC back in the day.

I played TMNT way more. Wasn't an Xmen fan until late 90s so I only played this game on Sega Genesis.

I've always felt like this is the best video game animation of Wolverine of all time. Children of the Atom's Wolverine being 2nd best.

Nostalgic!!! I remember this game when I'm about 8 to 9 years old, some of the older player cowers to the corners to avoid being attack by in coming battalion of enemies ( in arcade it can be played up to 4 players), what a coward, let the kids in the line of fire to die. Instead of a team works, it was selfishly avoiding the enemies.. Notes: back then it cost P3 per token in order to be able to play the arcade game..

I know it can't happen but if the people behind the new TMNT game be allowed to bring this game back and better i would be a very happy man given how much i enjoy Shredders Revenge.

For those of you that don't know this was the game that was based off the original pilot that eventually led to X-Men the animated series which is now X-Men 97. That is why it has the exact same characters as the original pilot

This was one of my favorite arcade games next to the TMNT four player. I had it on Playstation when it was released on the Store. Fun game. One feature that I whole-heartedly enjoyed was being able to attack an enemy while they were down. I wish more multiplayer games had that. Edit: one other thing I will add. This is clearly the Japanese version of the game. The U.S. version did not drop energy pills.

Nightcrawler jumping on the enemies stomachs always had me laughing. Cyclops and dazzler I think were the only ones that had the same animation of kicking them. Proof cyclops has always been a loser 😂

This was the most desired Konami arcade game that never made it to true console port. The only other one that came close was "The Simpsons."

How does the game visually look so good compared to other play through videos are you using pixel smoothing or scaling what ever it’s called

This game should be available on the ps5, series x, and switch. Another note is the ending of this game implied a sequel game and it’s a shame a sequel was never made. The sequel could’ve been instead of being based on the x men pilot episode, being based on the 92 animated series and their character lineup with Apocalypse being the main antagonist this time. Then have Magneto and Spider-Man as secret playable characters, well just some imagination.

In my chilfhood years,the actual first time I saw this this game , its thevsane time i now knowing about the X-Men. I thought wolverine was Cat scratcher. The Wendigo boss fight, i kinda remember he was saying " Youre gonna dead, youre gonna dead." With growls even , its like he was movingband dancing in time with the boss soundtrack playing in the background during the fight. Later on in my teenage years - I learned better lolol

Were there different builds of this game? I played the hell out of this and got good enough to win without dying and I am remembering 2 things that seem different. I remember getting bonus X powers but only as a reward for finishing a stage with full health. In this video you seem to be getting bonus X powers in the middle of stages. I also have no memory at all of enemies dropping energy pickups. EDIT: I just looked it up and this is the non-American release and it does have differences.

I always preferred the brown suite for Wolvie
