@@horizonfan a remake can also be a remaster... Remaster just means that the core game design is the same with maybe some slight tweaks but graphics are much better. Remakes are similar but usually change more about the original game and/or add a lot of content

We really need a new X-Men fighting game.

I love mystique's where she's like 3 yards away from them but takes like 10 seconds lining up her shot lmao

At least one missing: Forge had an unlisted Level 3, where you could alternate different types of shots from his gun.

Crazy this game was the reason I first fell in love with cool fighting combos as a child using night crawler and since then it sparked my love for fighting by games

3:59 I had this game when I was a little kid and my friend came over after school and we were playing it for ages! Neither of us were very good at fighting games and hadn't a clue what we were doing but one of us accidentally pulled off this move and could not believe what had just happened

Got back onto mutant academy 1&2 about a month ago and just now downloading this for GB emulator 😆 Came here to remind myself of how FRICKIN AWESOME this game is, I can't wait 😆

I like how Juggernaut looks like hes going to take the most massive shit in the world.

The mind truly is an amazing thing, as I remember this looking quite a bit better than what this video shows.

You've missed out quite a few characters. Like the Sentinels, Dark Phoenix and others.

god I loved this game, and I wonder did MK and injustice take inspiration from it with the bars ralting to supermoves? It was an interesting roster. Iceman, Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde would have been fun additions too. Xmen have such a rich character base to pick from

My favority Special moves are the Phoenix she so Badass😉👍

Seeing this brings back memories of my childhood. The original Xbox; having sleepovers every weekend and playing this game till we fell asleep with the TV still on. I liked using Toad and Wolverine and my friend used Beast and Forge

Cyclops's flash kick is so awesome looking, they should integrate the move to him in the comics, can't get enough of the awesomeness. Awesome vid.

I remember playing this an awful LOT and I never saw some of those moves!

Rouge was so sexy in this game mane so much memory’s😂

Psylocke's Kamehameha still iconic. Same with Phoenix's level 5.

This game was so ahead of its time

Lol omg I finally found it was looking for this game for a while I remember I used throw the controller down cause my cousin used to get toad and toad do that grab with his feet I hated it but I went back to it every time ps2 days

Mystique's super should be changing into someone or something cool.

I seriously hope Marvel decides to remake and revamp this game. Same roster with some added characters, keep the same moves with improved physics and placements, just add some new attacks and grapples, incorporate the same story mode with more depth and character development, maybe add some mini games like challenges, add gear augments but absolutely nothing like Injustice 2, more like MK11 to where you can mix and match. It’d be a great way to revive a nostalgic title for a new and younger audience to enjoy too.

This game needs a reboot. It was so good, but so limited by tech.

The problem is that many special moves will not deal the maximum potential damage (Storm’s most special moves or Phoenix’s phoenix throws).

They already have Injustice. I played this game back in the days on Xbox. If only they could do a new version of it for Playstation. And now they need a Marvel or Avengers kind of fighting game like these. I would biy all of em. Lol

Yes, but this was the third installment. The first two were X-Men Mutant Academy 1&2 and were on the Playstation 1. This was either PS2 and Gamecube or all three, can't remember exactly.

The Xbox version takes forever to load but it’s the only way you get to play as pyro

Your missing Dark Phoenix, Blob, Bishop, Psylocke(not Betsy, although they are mirror characters) and if you had it on Xbox could of played as Pyro

this one sucked compared to xmen mutant academy 2. The graphics were great at the time but the gameplay seemed more less impactful than the previous title. All the hits sounds like someone poppin popcorn

Would love NRS to make a Marvel Fighter , bought since they are owned by WB I doubt it will ever happen , Marvel seem to suck at the video game industry while DC excel at it and DC is rather lack luster in Movie department. The only Marvel fighter we have now is that Marvel contest of champions on mobile......and don't get me started on how poorly Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite was handled. Also hate the fact X-men are getting cut out of all games these days because of this Fox Owning the movie rights bull crap , they were cut out of MVSC:Infinite and Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 and it sucks.

BUT..ON PS2 THE GRAPHICS WHERE MUCH BETTER THAN ON THIS VIDEO..WTF HAPPEN? REALLY I REMMEMBER THIS GAME AND WAS A GOOD VERY..VERY GOOD ONE!. ..-.
