@@censorthispuertorican - I liked Gillen's run, too. I'm surprised that it has such a bad/mediocre reputation. Did The Phalanx come back to life after this? Are they still around? I was never sure if they are the same Phalanx that we saw during The Annihilation event.

@@matthewschwartz6607 Gillen was attempting to put together an X-Men team that could potentially rival the avengers, and i suspect the powers that be just didn't want the X-Men to steal the limelight at the time, so they just put the kibosh on all his efforts and went back to business as usual. This left quite a few plotlines unresolved iirc.

I don't agree with toxic that's a term used too often. I would say complicated with Scott & jean with madelyne & Emma basically the ladies are the ones c-blocking jean and Scott isn't the one to be blamed. Then Polaris and havok were a good couple but he gets with another girl but didn't he have amnesia or have his memory affected. Once again complicated and weird but not sure it's toxic.

I enjoyed Vulcan during Empyre. Imagine being an Omega level fire-based mutant, in a city of intelligent plants with weapons pointed at Earth. He simply informed the plants to not point at Krakoa, which they immediately did. So he exploded. All this while his "babysitters" were waiting for him at the Summers house.

I need to collect and read X-Men: Deadly Genesis, Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire, and X-Men Emperor Vulcan because I have the collected edition of War of Kings. I love Vulcan!!! He returned during the Krakoa Saga before he went to war with Storm for Arakko when he was manipulated by Abigail brand. I hope Marvel hires new comic writers who can make Vulcan into a hero.

I'd love to hear you explain the war of kings and into the Thanos arc sounds like it gets pretty crazy. Also Big up Nightcrawler one of my favourites.

I honestly think that an x-men open world story driven space based Vulcan game would be incredible. Take over the entire shiar empire as Vulcan alone. You can gain enough power and single-handedly take over, fighting against entire armies. Or you can team up with people, lead resistance groups, or work for them and work your way to the top. And then when you beat the game you could have access to the entire story with another mutant as a dlc. Letting you try your hand at taking over an entire space empire with a single mutant.

I read War of Kings and it is a dope story.

@@BigReuben97 Mmm. I wouldn't say that Storm no diffs Vulcan. She can throw down with him pretty well, but he has much more raw power. This version of Vulcan also seemed catatonic and Storm had a whole thing set up for their fight because what she has over him is experience, skill and wit. Vulcan is like a child and Storm has been the leader of so many teams.

I want a story where Nightcrawler’s teleportation is used to teleport a ballistic missile mid-flight or some shit. Teleporting Cell to a different planet before he explodes type energy.

It is also known that mutant siblings can’t use their powers against each other. We saw it happen between cyclops and Havok when the X-men faced x force in the og X-men cartoon.

I'm disappointed in Rob that he simplified Havok's powers being like Cyclops. He absorbs energy then releases it to a point that he heats the air & it becomes plasma. Yes, both absorb ambient energy, but Havok absorbs it to a wider & greater scale. He once absorbed the energy and radiation from a meltdown of a nuclear power plant. He then redirected it into space as plasma energy blast. I would say that Alex's powers are way different from Scott's optic blast!

Very Shakespeare in this tale of brothers against brothers and parents who don't see the road ahead for their children. But its central story is the common shape of things to come an endless power struggle of disharmony and possibly the endgame of endgames which has a knock-on effect throughout the known multiverse. If there is one individual who is known super being to brings stability to everything could be Franklin Richards his otherworldly powers may change he might effectively change reality?

What is the extent of the type of energy Vulcan can control? Mass is equivalent to energy, the majority of the mass of the proton/neutron comes from the binding energy of quarks, something like only 10% of proton mass comes from the up and down quarks

Most likely, Vulcan could theoretically control that kind of energy, but he doesn't know how and probably never will. I do know that he can manipulate the energies of mutant powers, allowing him to steal the powers of other mutants, and that would probably work for a lot of other heroes as well.

This time of the X-Men was written by Ed Brubaker. X-Men was great by a short run of Ed Brubaker. I love this time of the X-Men it reminds me the time of Claremont and Byrne era.
