If you are using the wiring from your old doorbell (not another brand of "smart" doorbell), you won't need the chime controller. In the app you can select "Mechanical" and it'll ring the doorbell that the old button rang. In my home we have several Nest Minis and they ring if the "Digital" ringer is selected.

Very well done video. The little blinking Android robot was a nice touch. I laughed when it got to the point where you referred me to another video to do the pairing. LOL That part was what I needed most, esp with regard to the extra chime module. Not my first doorbell but I do think this one is exceptional, esp for the price.

You didn't show the install of the chime.

I'm not quite sure on my fuse box which switch goes to my doorbell so here's my question... can you still remove & install door cam without turning off the power? Like don't touch the two wires together kind of thing?

How do you figure out which breaker is for the doorbell?

If your breaker is not labeled, you will have to turn off one by one. As you turn off each breaker, take note on which outlet, lights, etc it turns off so you will know next time.

What is confusing you about the chime?

Two questions can two people use the same app for the doorbell, and do I have to have a subscription for monitoring service

Yes, two people can use the same app for the doorbell. My wife and I both use the app on our separate devices. You can either pay for a subscription which is a monthly fee, or you can buy a MicroSD card for a one-time fee. I prefer buying the microSD card so I am not relying on another subscription service.

If you have a doorbell button outside your house that receives power, then you can use this. It doesn't have a battery, so it needs a power source. There are doorbells like this that run on batteries if you need one. If you meant you don't have the bell inside your house, then no worries because it will ring your phone when someone is at the door .

which memory card is useful for wyze doorbell? 128GB or 256GB?

Either of those would work just fine. The larger card will just allow for playback from further back. Meaning it may allow for playback of a month rather than 2 weeks per say.

Man the SD card needs to be hidden better especially for something the owner never needs easy access to anyway, meanwhile its positioned where someone could remove it reaching their finger on the side while pressing the doorbell, all with one hand... maybe put some strong tape over it.

Nothing about the wyze doorbell chime controller. About to send this thing back.

That's correct. Every smart doorbell also comes with a chime attachment if you want to use your existing chime. I prefer to have it run through my app only.

@@mrmichaeltscott I was confused as hell at first but I got it done. I did everything HOT without kicking power cause kids are home and didn’t wanna listen to the cries with power off. It went well. Chime is super easy to do.

Why didn’t you just cover how to wire the controller to chime instead of telling us what we already knew…that the app will tell us.
