From Wikipedia: "The poem dramatizes the confusion felt by the narrator as he watches the important things in life slip away. Realizing he cannot hold on to even one grain of sand, he is led to his final question whether all things are just a dream."

When Wyatt mentioned the "texture" of the song... that was the perfect analogy. Its meaty, has depth. One of those songs where you hear new runs in the mix on the fifth play through

Sam Carter is taking this band to the next level. Loving this new Architects.

Dan and Sam said in an interview that the basic idea behind this song (the metalcore mixed with clean and industrial) was still an idea Tom had years back. So they tried it out - and it works so so well. Can´t wait for the album.

This song has been so stuck in my head. Such a friggen banger. Also you made me check my headphones cause you said the drums were mixed audience perspective but I'm definitely hearing that china panned right. They're releasing an album February 26th 2021!!!

When Tom died, I was gutted for a year. I lost a close friend to cancer a year previous, and Tom was like my idol, so I was reliving that trauma alongside one of my heroes passing away. I kind of stopped listening to their music because it tore me up. I stopped listening to a lot of music because a lot of what I listened to was Architects. Holy Hell came out, and it was amazing. It revitalized my love for music. I wasn't a huge fan of this first listen. I still had a good time with it, but after a few days it might be my most listened song of the year. I'm so excited for the next album. Any chance ya'll will do a full album review of it when it drops?

This song sounds like a mixture of BMTH and parkway drive.

Took me a couple times of listening to this song to like it but now I can't stop. Same thing happened to me with Royal Beggars, and now that's one of my favorite songs off Holy Hell.

Nobody ever shows Daybreaker any love lol. That’s my favorite. These Colours Don’t Run, Behind The Throne, and Devil’s Island are just soooo good. It doesn’t hurt that it was also the first Architects album I heard, so nostalgia is a big part. I’m excited in seeing what else they release from this album. They always evolve and always drop quality music. They’ve earned my trust, so that’s what I’m gonna do. Trust in Architects, because, why not?

Interesting insight after the song. Holy Hell is one of my favorite album, and when I first heard this I was bummed. But hearing it again I appreciated it more. And your insight makes me want to go back and listen to their earlier stuff more. Either way I’m still excited to hear more from Architects!

I couldn’t agree any damn more on this. Great perspective on the band an where they are going. I found out about them just before Holy Hell an i loved that album. They are a phenomenal band an my all time favourite. Love the reaction, but even more loved your thoughts on this song/band direction. Very nicely done!

About the sound and direction they’re taking they said Tom wanted to eventually write an industrial sounding album so I think they’re trying to do this for him.

What a great summarisation for what is going to be the new chapter of Architects. Gunna go out on a limb and say you were referring to AA when talking about bands that stopped caring. I completely agree about the differences, hope more bands take this approach. A change of sound doesn’t have to be bad, providing you still have the motivation to make great, relatable music that old and new fans alike can get into

i feel in the same way that u wyatt, when tom died, a part of me died too, it was a very angst filled for me, unfortunately i never had the opportunity of see Architects on stage live, i hope to see them soon here on south america, its crazy how ppl who doesnt know each other, from a many parts of this big world, can feel in the same way because of music, long life and good music to everyone.
