Hi Fiona! I am so glad you enjoy my videos I really love hearing when people want to do WWOOF as well! There are really so many great farms out there where you can find all you are looking for. For a first timer I would really recommend finding a place with several other volunteers like you said. The place I went to in this video is a great place in Italy but my biggest piece of advice is to really sit down and go through the list of hosts and read very carefully the descriptions and really listen to your heart and see where you feel like would be a good fit for you. Reach out to as many hosts as you can and let them know what you are looking to get out of the experience and ask them what they look for in a volunteer (and you can also ask about how many volunteers they usually have) . Get to know them well and ask them all the questions you have before promising them that you will go. Another piece of advice is reach out to the past volunteers that have stayed on that farm that are listed on the side of the page so that you can really get an idea of how that specific farm is and the experience you can expect. I'm going to backpack through Italy for over 6 months starting in September. I'm planning on doing some WWOOFing across the country here and there to save myself some money on accomodations and food. Do you have any farms you'd really recommend?

Just now seeing this but Pantasema Agricultura is a really great farm right outside of Rome. I am currently at another one in the north that is amazing but the work is very intense so if you are just looking for a way to save money I wouldn't recommend it but if you are ready to put in work, it is a really fun experience so just let me know :)
