It's been a long time since we made a game video, over 2 years. I took so long to make a video because I needed to create my own format. I never felt compelled to do one until a few months ago. The latest PPV arena in this game is Vengeance 02. But overall, the latest arena is SmackDown. The changed from Black apron to silver apron after Summerslam 2002 .

The ultimate childhood game, along with SVR 2007.

My late childhood favorite WWF/E videogame of all time in the early 2000s.

After playing this for myself, I can understand why some people prefer this game over HCTP and why this is their favorite Wrestling game of All Time. The Draft in Season Mode, I can play over and over again. The Roster is arguably better then in Here Comes The Pain. Free Roaming nearly brought a tear to my eye. The gameplay while not as good as HCTP is still done pretty well. The graphics while not as good as HCTP don't look bad at least they can say the have a better Triple H character model.

That draft is so replayable! Yes finally someone who agrees with me. Sometimes I’ll just sit there and play back to back drafts til I get a very good roster for both brands.

Damn right, my all time favorite WWE game, I feel like the only person that prefers it over Here Comes The Pain.

I always found this game quite underrated. Here comes the pain always overshadows it whenever people have the conversation of best wrestling games but it’s personally in my top 3

The rvd video packages from shut your mouth were iconic

Still got memories of playing this game when it first came out It was the best smackdown game ever.

wrestlingpremier guy: at 9:54 seconds on a side note i like how the crowd chanted "you suck" during kurt angle's entrance. haha hehe yep back then in 2002 those you suck chants were entertaining hilarious and funny as hell and this is coming from someone who doesn't think that he sucks and actually likes kurt. of course there wouldn't be any "you suck" chants without edge so blame him for that. his feud with kurt angle on smackdown in june and july of 2002 was awesome and epic as hell. they had a good rivalry back then.

That draft at the beginning of season mode is what sets Shut Your Mouth apart from all of the other WWE games. And then an amazing story filled season mode as well which mimics the real life events of 2001-2002.

I liked this game a lot. The backstage areas, the graphics. The gameplay, roster. 06 is my favourite but this game was awesome as well

The biggest downside is not being able to play as or at least draft HBK but I get why.

I haven't played any of the Smackdown games or most of the older WWE games that are regarded as classics maybe I will one day. The oldest WWE Game I've played is SVR07

The one thing that makes me mad about SmackDown vs. Raw-present WWE games Yukes removed alot of backstage features that the SmackDown games had like fighting outside the arena, and fighting in a subway. SmackDown seemed like an pro wrestling action game.

Remember this on the PS2 with my sister when she was 7 and I was 6 at the time but unfortunately due to us having to live somewhere differently we never got to play it as much though it really does remind me plenty of 2002 at the time as well as it being the first actual PS2 Game and what I would consider the Peak of Wrestling Games into SVR 07.

Best wrestling game ever ppl think i didn't like coming outside i was just locked in on season mode.

Loved this game, imo it is the perfect smackdown wrestling game. You did a great job, highlighting what made it such a memorable game. From the gameplay, new match types, features, storyline, alternative attires, superstar likeness.

Dope video I still have have this game and story mode is incredible and if you play with your “caw” you’ll even start at Sunday night heat for your first storyline. I first got this game when I was 7 and I’m 26 now this is the goat for me.

I feel like alot of people over look SYM now don’t get me wrong HCTP is without of doubt one of the greatest wrestling games of all time but they don’t realize that SYM had without of doubt The Deepest Roster they had over time cause this takes place after WCW and ECW went out of business during 2001-2002 Era and they had the best season mode and arenas in the game now the only person they couldn’t get was Scott hall cause of the drug addiction he was dealing at the time

Solid review, my man. This is my favorite SmackDown game for sure. To me, it has pretty much all the fun gameplay and quirks that make HCTP great, but captures one of my favorite time periods in wrestling history. The only way it could have been better is if hey got it out before the rebrand officially took place.

All time legendary game remember having the "multi-tap" so that friends can play with me. The hardcore backstage time limit battle royal was my favorite mode. We would all battle in the battle royal, the person who had the last pinfall/submission before the 30:00-minute time limit was the victor. I would play this game all night. I remember being excited and could not wait until opening it up for Christmas. The commercials were just so epic also on TV. The customizations, modes, attire, arenas, roster all were great. I created Rey Rey and Cena, but it would have been great, if at least one of the two preferably Rey Rey would have been included, as this was right in the beginning states of the Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick for Cena with B2 "Bull Bucahnon" The unlockables such as the exclusive video content was highly memorable too. I remember this game and HCTP both being arguably the best in the entire series very nostalgic thank you for the share.

This video game was one of the most essential parts of my childhood. It was the first game I had with my ps2

For me SvR 2007 is the best, amazing licenced OST, great season mode that you can even customize your own locker room, and the best GM Mode outta the three SvR games that has it.

I like Here Comes The Pain better soley because pressing R2 to reverse is far more intuitive than square.

i wish i had a PlayStation two back then in 2002 so i could have played this. this video game looks epic and amazing they need to release smackdown shut your mouth for xbox 360 PlayStation 4 the nintendo switch and xbox one. smackdown shut your mouth looks like one of the greatest smackdown games of all time smackdown vs raw 2006 was good too i've never played those games i've only seen videos from youtube on them but i still think they need to release smackdown shut your mouth and smackdown vs raw 2006 on the newer video game systems too. it is a little messed up those two games were only on PlayStation 2 that's sucks. this is a good video game review and walkthrough though and i'm glad this guy is being fair objective and honest here instead of doing a lot of complaining and pointing out all the flaws in the game and problems with it like other people do in walkthrough and video game reviews. you can always count on wrestlingpremier guy for a positive review and a fair and honest opinion of a game.

I always felt this was better than hctp….hctp is too easy to me the reversal timing in hctp is too op and easy to master

I used to like just bring it better. But I love shut your mouth. To me shut your mouth is better than here comes the pain but that’s just me. I do like the hair comes the pain gameplay a little more. But something about shut your mouth in 2002 makes me want to play it.
