I think that was Jeff Hardy's best look ever too. Plus his glow entrances were amazing

They showed Jeff Hardy in the trailer he definitely should have made it into the game. That is probably the coolest version I've ever seen of him too.

Because the SmackDown games were Arcade style... the 2K games are Simulation style The 2K games are meant to be more realistic and work how you see the matches on TV... Slow-paced

Bob Orton and Dusty Rhodes are introduced that way too in SVR 2010. But isn't Steamboat listed as one too? He was in the HOF by that point.

if there's one game that deserves a remaster , it's definitely this game like literally i only got to play this game for 2 hours because my dad only rented the game for us to have for like a day , only for him to return it the next day...

Contracts make that impossible to happen. They could update the roster and rerelease it that way but that would take time and resources they're focusing on the next main game

I remember I got it for xmas too. I was 8 and I was the happiest kid ever 😭 so many late late nights with my cousins on this game

I remember the 1st time I loaded the game up, 1st game was Elimination Chamber & I got busted open by The Iron Sheik, it was 1 of the most surprising & memorable gaming moments I'd had.

Honestly I would wanna know why older WWE games have more graphics ex: You can see yourself breaking from hell in a cell but now the top just disappears

That's what happens when you have hard yearly releases. Plus 2K also has the NBA license as well so they consider that more of a priority which is why they feel more polished, at least compared to the WWE games.

@@WowSuchGaming2009I don’t think they have the rights to a lot of the wrestlers since 2003 was 20 years ago a lot of guys are gone, not on legend contracts or Chris Benoit

The lack of commentary was honestly a good thing. Not only did you not have to put up with commentary getting old after just a couple of days of playing, as is usually the case, but it also kept better parity between CAWs and in-game wrestlers. It also made Season Mode more immersive, as having repeated commentary that doesn't mention any of the ongoing story can really take you out of it. Lack of voice acting also allowed them to put a greater amount of variety into Season Mode in general, as it's easier to put in a lot of different text based scenarios that also reuse existing animation, than to have to bring people in to voice act everything (also allows them to make quick changes deep into development, which in and of itself allow them more time to add more stuff). What I'm trying to say is: more wrestling games should skip on using any voice acting (outside of wrestler grunts and crowd noise, obviously). It simply makes for a more flexible and less repetitive experience, and makes the game less restrictive on the dev side, too.

I admit that was one of my few problems with HCTP, along with the lack of ring announcing, and some of the CAW features and original entrances from SYM being taken out.

"New option of being able to visit the GM's office." You could do the same in Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth except it was the VIP Room and you talked to either co-owner Flair or McMahon with the SP, title shot, and trade options the same.

One of the most fun games ever. I once had RVD jump off the top of the Times Square building to land onto a car, and it exploded. HCTP was the "No Mercy" of its generation, and 2K couldn't create as good a wrestling game in their wet dreams.

HCTP is my favorite wrestling game. I miss playing it...

It's a damn shame jeff hardy wasnt included, his model had to be the coolest looking model in any wwe game he's been in.

What i liked the most about the game is that the gameplay was fair. Lesser characters would get hurt easier and submit faster then better characters but if you had skill and you timed it right you could still consistently counter. We got to a point where we usually just random selected our characters because you still had a shot.

It wouldn't be hard to do a remaster of HCTP update the graphics, add the current roster while having as much of the roster from the original that they can have in it with wrestlers that were in the original having attires of what they look like today, more match types, more arenas, overhaul the creation stuff, and maybe have a Ruthless Aggression Era vs Modern Era mode

Good video overall, two things though; the create an animation and the ability to meet with your GMs during season mode were not new to HCTP, but SYM. However HCTP did introduce asking for a brand change as SYM only allowed to ask for title shots or to check you SP.

Man this was the best game ever me and my nephew bought it together also fun tip for easy cage match win sign a superstar with Goldberg spear the impact of the move keep your opponent down for a while

Hmm...facinating, but I think you forgot 1 glitch. You may aware if you try Eddie “rope splash” (I forgot the real name). It made you stand outside the ring, if you’re attacked during outside the ring (Cage Match, Iron Man Match, any match that keep you inside the ring exclude Royal Rumble). While you’re outside, you could take any weapon and throw it to the ring.

9:05 that custom animation by taker is hilarious...but it works

Me and my friend use to play this alot, he would have all his superstars on smack down and I would have raw, through my friends career my main superstar switched brands and ended up winning the undisputed champion, was awesome

The a.i. impressed me the most. They were very challenging

I loved the gameplay and season mode in these games. If I want anything out of a new WWE game I would want a season mode with the creativity of Here Comes the Pain’s Season mode, I would want the gameplay style as well as the Camera Cuts like we had in Here Comes the Pain, I would want GM Mode to return for the more seasoned players, I would want Story Designer back, I would want Universe Mode to feature the ability to assign any Superstar as a GM of any Show (even created ones), I would want to see the storylines made by the devs, I would want the ability to make our own stories as well as a way of implementing those stories into Universe for Rivalries, I want tournaments in Universe, I want Custom Music back, and FINALLY I would want a fully fleshed out roster where people are not being removed with live updates from the devs for things like new attires, new moves, new trons, and new entrance animations.

There was always something special about this game.

A person who knows how to edit the files could probably c Make a Hulk CAW and link the CAW to the character select screen entry to have the game load properly since it has target data to load. But an easier route would be to just use a CAW with the move set.

I read it as Here comes the pain remaster , and now here I am.

I played SVR 2006 and although the commentary is decent in that game, it does get old an repetitive and sometimes you just want them to shut up. Problem is there is no background BMG so it’s a little to quiet. I prefer HTCPs version in the end.

Honestly believe if Jeff was in this game it would be the best wrestling game of all time,still is IMO but Jeff would’ve made it 10x better considering he is in barely any wrestling games

Some tricks you can do is hold grapple on an opponent while on the ground and strike them infinitely. The flying spears move are also uncounterable so you can abuse them all the time

Still have my copy of the game and still works.
