WWE Network was only able to get 2 million subscribers. Netflix has over 200 million subscribers. WWE Network can be considered a failure due to not getting enough subscribers.

Just like Disney+ wanting to replace Netflix & then Bob Iger recently saying that “Netflix is the standard” while Disney+ struggles too get the numbers of subscriptions they hoped for which is why they were talking about merging Hulu with Disney+. The same reason Warner bros’ streaming service went from the dc universe streaming service of all dc stuff to then hbo max with dc & all Warner properties to just Max. These companies should realize that they aren’t Netflix. This is why blockbuster was foolish in not working with em.

I’m such a casual fan these days I rarely ever watch. I stopped paying for TNT because it was too expensive and the catch up system sucked. Going to Netflix will bring me back to all 3 shows, I’m so excited!

They might have driven it into the ground. Not too long ago Netflix was struggling - it was a ground breaking concept. It takes balls and grit to stick and a visionary to see things through.

Rock’s promo afew weeks ago now makes sense. He wasn’t talking about challenging Roman, he was talking about being running the company! That’s the real head of the table!

I don't have Netflix here in the USA. In fact, I am cutting a lot of subscription-based channels/platforms due to the price consistently increasing to the point where I can no longer afford it. And it begs the question of why am I paying a premium to watch a show that will have the same if not more commercials than network TV, which is currently free? I am probably in the minority but this will mean I will no longer watch RAW when it moves.

You are in the minority then (a very small one). Majority of folks either pay for cable or have Fubo/Sling type service.

I already have subscriptions for both the Network and Netflix. Nice to know I’ll only need one next year. Bravo

@@timkruse9912 while you can argue that they have some bias, the production value, the access to footage and actual people they interview is top notch. The Last Ride and American Nightmare are proof of that.

So happy, so much content all over the place at moment it is real mess. Documentaries I really wanted to watch so this is great move and may even bring back old fans as it’s lost popularity streaming service right now!

This just proofs that wrestling trend: WWE IS CINEMA.

I think this might get me to watch RAW weekly if I can watch it whenever I want, I haven’t watched wrestling regularly since AEW in Wembley and WWF (Or rather NXT only) regularly since about 2017.

Finally, I can watch it! I ain't gonna buy BT/TNT, so without resorting to sketchy links, I can now catch the full shows. This is massive, and whoever came up with this idea is an absolute legend.

I think it’s a great idea. Cable and what not is used wayyyyy less than Netflix so it might be a great idea. They already have the PPV’s on Peacock so why not put them on a streaming service pretty much everyone has? I don’t see a downside to this.

So excited for this, i wont have to find daily motion live streams, and its actually a reason to have netflix again. I missed some shows but not 20 dollars worth

That's the biggest question. Peacock f'ed up the network in the US. We need to get all of that back.

Because of this, I think TK will move AEW to Amazon (including the PPV's & ROH) once the TNT/TBS deal ends in December in response. Also I think TNA will return to its longtime home of Paramount Network (formerly Spike TV) at some point mainly because the ratings on AXS TV are low & fans don't really have access to it due to AXS TV being labeled a premium TV channel by cable/satellite companies

@@Slackey4318 I’m sure it’ll have ads of some sort, mostly plugging other Netflix shows but they’ll look idiotic interrupting a match so we can see an ad for a show on the platform. They’re going to have to change the format and I think that’s a positive.

To my knowledge, the only time Netflix has attempted to live-stream an event was the finale of Love is Blind, and it was a disaster. Regardless, the migration to Netflix is a good move.

I’ll watch it on Netflix. I haven’t seen WWE since the Direct Tv days. If anything, this will make it available to the masses on a global stage.

Compared to their other expenditures, WWE is a bargain for Netflix. The two Rebel Moon movies cost about 170M. The Gray Man's budget was around 200M. With this WWE deal they get 150+ hours a year for what Netflix spends on like 10 hours of movies lately.

There is a difference in that Netflix doesn't own the content itself because it's not making it themselves. If it blows up, that does benefit Netflix but the value is largely WWE's.

Also in America, we have a lot of phone companies that have a free basic Netflix subscription. Meaning, that many people have free Netflix right now. Also, the biggest contract would be with KZread. Millions more watch KZread over Netflix.

The one thing I am hoping that raw will be commercial free

Whose to say Peacock won't offer AEW a Library like WWE . I mean I don't see USA ,NBC or Peacock just sitting there doing nothing about Netflix taking wrestling away from them

I like it being on Netflix cuz I haven't had regular cable in yrs an I'm only occasionally able to watch,,I hope one day smackdown is on Netflix,,it will make it so much easier!!

Is it like when they anmounced WWE coming to Sky 1 and it turned out to be reruns of Velocity and Heat?

This could both make me watch WWE again, and keep Netflix. No way am I paying extra on my Discovery+ to get TNT for it, so I only know what is happening via KZread clips. Should Netflix decide to charge extra to get live shows, then I'll be sticking with my AEW, but we'll see what develops and take it from there!

We're getting the best treatment. Only Raw is moving to Netflix in the US. But for us in the UK and other countries, we're getting Raw, Smackdown, NXT etc.

It means Netflix has my sub for 10 years 😂😂

Wwe network has tbe entire library of past smackdowns and RAWs including the ones from the Attitude Era Will they be moving to Netflix as well internationally?

SmackDown will move to USA in October so the partnership between USA & WWE will continue. However since SmackDown is leaving Fox, it opens the door for AEW to move there once their deal with TBS/TNT ends in December. If AEW moved to Fox, Rampage would become the primary show due to it being on Friday nights & it would get another hour because of that. Also ROH would likely get put on TV via FS1 & FS1 would be the new of Dynamite. Amazon would likely get the streaming rights to PPV's making it easier to watch them since they would be included with a Prime subscription (much like how Thursday Night Football currently is) because currently you have to go through BR & pay $55 to watch it.

No It probably won't. Wwe/Tko have other partners/deals in place that make changing the ratings bad for business. Toy partners/ Mattel etc.. video game partners 2K etc.. advertising partners etc..

Oh man, moving every show to Netflix is a big, "if." They're immediate future, with Smackdown and NXT spread out amongst different networks, feels like it gives them a chance to hedge they're bets. Plus, the rest of the shows and specials won't come cheap. If this is true, then Raw was priced at 500 million a year. Smackdown went to USA for 425 million annually, right? They wouldn't sign a deal banning them from trying to sell PLEs qnd other shows to other parties for a decade.

I have peacock, max, starz, Amazon, Disney plus and paramount for maybe the next month. Now I have to get Netflix again

Yeah... I get peacock and Max free through other services but I pay for Disney and Paramount. Netflix has never interested me and I don't know that this is going to magically make me want it. I guess we'll see in a year when this becomes an issue.

I personally love this news, I can't afford or justify buying the sports channels but I already have netflix!

What are they doing with commercials??

As long as we can watch Raw and SmackDown live, or at the very least, the VoD. One reason why the WWE Network sucked is that the Raw and SmackDown uploads were months out of date and I was never going to buy Sky Sports.

I can see Netflix giving us a lot of WWE documentaries but if Monday night raw comes to Netflix it's going to change how we watch professional wrestling forever now I have a reason to keep my Netflix account.☺️
