This match not a pre planned Match. This match was between Paul Heyman and Adam Pearce on the Smack Down episode where Paul Heyman replaced himself with Roman Reigns and Adam replaced himself with Kevin Owens. Then WWE made official match between Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble.

Yup, the original plan was for Dom to eliminate Lesnar in the Rumble which would lead to Brock getting mad at him. But with the Vince MacMahon stuff this got scrapped and Dom eliminated Bron instead.
