WWE 2K17 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke's and published by 2K Sports for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.[2][3] It is the eighteenth game in the WWE game series (fourth under the WWE 2K banner), serving as the following from their previous game WWE 2K16 (released in 2015), and followed by WWE 2K18 (released in 2017). This is the fourth and final installment released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms and on those platforms still follows the gameplay blueprint of WWE 2K14
On May 31, 2016, WWE 2K17 was officially announced by WWE and 2K, when they revealed Goldberg as the pre-order bonus character accompanied by the debut trailer featuring Goldberg. 2K also announced that the game would include the two versions of Goldberg (WCW and WWE), along with two playable arenas (Halloween Havoc and WCW Monday Nitro).On June 27, 2016, a reveal trailer was released announcing that Brock Lesnar would be the cover star for WWE 2K17.On July 14, 2016, WWE announced an NXT Collector's Edition. The set includes NXT wrestlers such as Apollo Crews, Nia Jax and Shinsuke Nakamura as playable characters as part of the NXT Enhancement Pack, a lithograph designed by Rob Schamberger and signed by Shinsuke Nakamura, an 8-inch collectable action figure of "The Demon" Finn Bálor, trading cards, actual ring canvas from the NXT TakeOver: London event, 50% more points in NXT for MyCareer Mode, as well as the Goldberg Pre-Order Pack. On August 8, 2016, 2K revealed the official soundtrack for WWE 2K17, which features thirteen songs from a variety of genres, curated by Sean Combs
Roster
On June 15, 2016, WWE announced that at E3 2016, the first roster reveal would be announced at 2K's booth by portrait artist Rob Schamberger. At the event, John Cena, The Ultimate Warrior, and Sasha Banks were the first three names revealed. On July 26, 2016, IGN announced that the McMahon family will be playable characters, which will include Stephanie McMahon, Shane McMahon, and Vince McMahon.On August 2, 2016, IGN announced the roster would be revealed every Tuesday for 5 weeks, along with in-game videos and screenshots, concluding on August 30.On August 10, the WWE 2K official site released a minigame that consisted of spotting the announced superstars of the WWE 2K17 game on a picture of Brock Lesnar's Suplex City. The game revealed a roster of 136 superstars consisting of current superstars, legends and NXT superstars.2K later revealed that there would be more than 11 extra DLC playable superstars. WWE 2K17 marks the video game debut of 26 superstars.

The best part about the old gen version of WWE games is that you can have infinite finishers in exhibition... Idk why they would take a feature like that away from current gen consoles

Last gen better gameplay and modes just a copy of wwe2k14 but next gen obviously had better graphics

Next Gen did not have better graphics... The models absolutely sucked compared to PS3 in this video... It was not until WWE 2K18 that they finally started upgrading the graphics in WWE games.

The wrestler models come way back from the ps3/xbox360 version of SVR 2011, being reused up until 2k17. The CAW is literally the same
If you don't have a PS4 you should play wwe 2k 17 on PS3 is way awesome.🥳🤩😍🥰
I used to love this on the PS4
I find it funny that people claimed that the PS3 was holding the WWE 2K series back yet WWE 2K15-2K17 on PS3 literally looked BETTER than PS4

The character models look better on PS3 10:38. There's something off about the way Undertaker looks on the PS4

That's because they were using the same graphics engine from 2K14 to make 2K17 on Old Gen... Which of course is known up until 2K22 to have the best character models overall.

Last gen 2k16 is better the last gen 2k17 its easy to unlock everything the unlock challenges in 2k17 shouldn't be there i have 2k17 on xbox one loved the game but why does Lillian say weighing in at .... 252 pounds 2k16 did it better.

I played WWE 2K22 after not playing a WWE game since SvR 2008. I play both PS3 and PS4 so I went back and bought all the available WWE games on both systems. I bought both PS3 and PS4 versions of 2K15, 2K16, and 2K17, and I was shocked by how terrible the PS4 versions are compared to PS3. Sure the PS3 versions are more or less just copy and pastes of 2K14, but that's not a bad thing, because that was a good game. The PS4 versions are so horrible they're unplayable for me. 2K18 was also pretty unplayable. I didn't even bother with 2K19 or 2K20. Thankfully 2K22 on PS5 is amazing, and 2K23 is decent too. Weird how the entire PS4 generations WWE games were so poorly made.

WWE 2k18 and 19 were really good, I think 2k19 is the best 2k game. 2k22 was probably build up from 2k19/20 so not much was cut unlike 2k15.
PS3 has better gameplay, PS4 has better graphics, *Gameplay is better than Graphics*

PS3's 2K17 has better gameplay because they just upgraded 2K14 for models, arenas, and stuff... and 14 is a great wrestling game.
