To get john do story mode play as Gabriel complete 3 battles. On the fourth battle completed it and go up finish two battles. Also do royal rumble and once complete it go right and you’ll get him

I’m over here thinking I just need to complete everything for the campaign, I didn’t think I had to do a whole system just to get characters :(
