    ​​​@@Ww2worldwar2à Reims, en mai 1995, j'ai rencontré des vétérans américains venus célébrer le 50 ème anniversaire du Débarquement et visiter la salle de Réddition ( actuel lycée Roosevelt) où la " War Room" a été intégralement conservée... C'était très émouvant car mes parents, nés en 1921 et 1924 étaient encore en vie et se souvenaient parfaitement des heures de la Libération...

    Merci surtout aux Russes, qui avaient déjà détruit 80 % de la machine de guerre Nazie en 1944. Même si les Soviétiques avaient été écrasées au début, comme toute l'Europe. C'est leur vaste territoire qui a fait la différence. Plus de deux fois la surface des US. Le tombeau de l'armée Allemande. Les opérations à l'Ouest ont commencé principalement en 1944, alors que la guerre contre la Russie durait depuis 1941. Les Alliés à l'Ouest, et pas seulement US et UK, n'ont fait que terminer le job. En rasant au passage des dizaines de villes Françaises, dans des raids souvent inutiles, comme à Caen, au Havre ou à Brest. Presque 70000 civils Français ont été tués sous leurs bombes, partout en France, et pas seulement en Normandie. Les vrais vainqueurs du 3ème Reich sont les Russes. 27 millions de pertes Russes, et plus de 4 millions de soldats de l'Axe tués en URSS. A comparer avec les pertes US sur tous les fronts, pas même 420000, ou avec les pertes du Royaume Uni, 450900. Même les pertes Françaises, militaires et civils, 600000, avaient été plus nombreuses. C'est la Russie qui a sauvé l'Europe. Tout le reste, c'est de la propagande qui dure depuis 80 ans.

    Bravo ! travail remarquable... fascinant cette confrontation des traces du passé et du présent...Ma famille habitait Reims en 1944 et les souvenirs de mes parents rejoignent certaines photos prises lors du débarquement de 44, ce fameux D Day.. Très émouvant ! From Angoulême, S.W of France.

    I am not questioning the authenticity of the pictures, but the The first picture looks like a post world war 2 picture. It seems like roll up shutters on the left side of the picture and the 2nd floor of that structure looks like a modern looking building.

    Los Rusos ganaron la guerra...en la misma Berlín. Los otros aliados solo seguían a Alemanes ya retirándose.... El 80 % de bajas Alemanas las produjo el ejército Rojo. 👍👍🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺

    The Russians were allied with the U.S., Britain, France, Canada and other countries. The U.S. supplied Russia with 400,000 jeeps and trucks, 14,000 airplanes and 8,000 tractors. It was an allied effort.
