Wonderful to see the Vickers Medium running. This would have been the tank my grandfather knew when he joined the Tank Corp in 1924.
The Swedish LK2 is one astonishing piece of jewelry of the Arsenalen and whole tank history world. They are so proud of it, and hell, this is really something to be proud of. Imagine the Little Willy and Mark 2 rolling around on the Bovington ground track. That's the same level of involvement in the renovation project. Stefan should smile more, he is such a great funny guy! Love Arsenalen videos.
As an ex RTR crewman, thank you all for keeping our history alive. It’s very much appreciated.
Gotta say, love the goofy nature of early tanks before the design got "figured out". Even the Vickers Medium with the motor in the front, the swinging box doors for the driver's face and the big box for the crew in the back.

That pattern of engine before turret and crew is echoed in IFVs , SP artillery, and Merkava tanks today. I think it would have been interesting if it had been developed further then!
That's a bloody cool mk4 replica....I don't know if they still have that jcb digger theme park, imagine one with a whole range of replica tanks to drive! Bugger going into space somebody make us a tank theme park!!!
Last time I was this early I thought the war would be over by Christmas.
New life objective: Steal little willie, i must obtain this rectangular lad.
I actually researched and have studied the Medium Mark 2 ( at 5:55) a lot and I know the tank being referenced as existing in South Africa. That tank is actually the only surviving Mark 1 of the medium series, if you look at images of the two tanks side by side the dead giveaway is the lack of armor over the suspension system on the Mark 1 compared to the Mark 2. It is also worth noting that some of the Medium Mark 2's were actually still active at the start of WW2 and were used in the defense of Mersa Matruh. Three had been sent from the Siwa oasis to aid in the defense, and one of them burned down on the journey to Mersa Matruh, there are some pictures of it online. The surviving two where then used as stationary bunkers and were captured by the Germans who did nothing with them and they were still there when the British returned.

Do you have the sources for that, sir?

@@mfulan7548 The exact sites I used for research I don't have, but I do have copies of the photographs of the burnt out tank and one of the turrets of these being used as a defensive position.

I remember the Sherman outside without its belly hatch. Went , as a child, determined to get in but found they`d welded a plate over it.
8:23 "Fahr nicht so schnell du Döskopp!" :D
9:05 Good to see they fixed the suspension on that Light Tank Mk. IV. Before, it's front was dipped far forward when it was moving.......
Last 'kill' ever made by WW1-era tank was in Portsmouth during WW2? That is quite long service for vehicle not designed for long-term use.
I love all the little tidbits of history that are all through this video.
Thank you! I am always SO AMAZED by the depth of knowledge you all have and share with us! Keep up the amazing work you do!
I remember going inside an abandoned Vickers medium on the hill at the back of the School Of Infantry around 1965. Maybe it's still there, covered in scrub. Still had the the Vickers brass name plate on it.
Here in Queensland we have the ONLY A7v in existence .Australian Diggers captured it and British ordered them to hand it over .Bugger that they thought so stole it back and snuck it back home to Australia !
Great tank chat hopefully I can get down next year now as had to cancel my trip this year! Was so bummed at that!
Had to use the whole video for extra cutland 👍 dunno what it is suddenly with ww1 and interwar stuff to me but that's a great area.
Always a good video from Bovington. Would say however Tiger131 is their Mona Lisa.
Another great informative video to brighten up my day.
Great to see Richard, hope he does some more tank reviews soon.
I really like the content of this video. But the thing that makes me most jeallous is that they can lounge around in front of those tanks..... "Fahr nicht so schnell du Döskopp" is a close second. Priceless!!!
Never noticed the damage on little Willie before 😯

Had a great day there , well worth the effort, strong chance you will bump into David Willey. Finn wasn't a star when I went.
I'm curious, I understand the close cooperation with the various museums of the US, Germans, Dutch, Swedes, etc, how much cooperation do you get with Kubinka? Do you ever offer "temp/trade" vehicles with them so that the people over there can get glimpses of your rarer vehicles?
Great discussion but missed Finn.
8:23 Is that "don't go too fast, dope!" sign historic/authentic or made up?
Do you have any information about British tanks used during the intervention in Russia? I am particularly interested in the Mark IV on display at Constitution Square in Kharkiv in Ukraine outside the Kharkiv History Museum.

I think that may be in one of their tank chats. I may be mistaken, but I know I've seen it somewhere. Could be on Mark Felton's shows if not.
3:31 watch what happens in front of the top hatch, looked like some kind of CG editing. Can you explain?

LostInPA When the tank roles by you can see this round object come into view right in front of the hatch that appears at an unnatural 45° angle. It looks like something you would see if you were trying to use a green screen or something and your editing wasn’t perfect.
The Challenger is a dong. That being said, retiring your few WW1 tanks is the right thing to do. I hope you'll keep them in running condition, while making sure that they don't get worn out.
No Renault FT?
Tooooooop demais. Saudações do Brasil.
And the A7V didn't fall over ! 😁
Yay! New video!
When I saw the A7 i first thought it said Schmuck, not Schnuck.
Only Mums complain when we used to crawl around and get covered in oil. It was learning experience.
"The A7V Size of a House" British one stil bigger but hey
Is it normal that a WWI tanks is name "Fleur d'Amour" (Flower of love)? Or is it just an inscription?
Has there ever been an attempt to restore the a1e1 independent.
What about battery electric vehicle armoured equipment?
Why is there monopoly and cluedo in the background? Btw, great video!

I think it is the 'merch'. My guess is Erwin the german, an 88 in the desert, he done it.
I don't know why they don't launch a project to get an exact replica of a mark 1 built
awesome makes me want to play BF1 haha
Can you do a video about the KV-85 there's not that much about there about the poor thing
"oik"? You'r not wrong.
Is David Fletcher alive?
9 down votes. Who the hell ARE THESE PEOPLE? What could you find objectionable about this video?
Sweden made some funky tanks that’s for sure
:)
No FT Renault?
