I feel like yuanwu would've been what lingyangs character quest was since unlike the other resonators he usually stays in jinzhou since he runs a boxing gym and a coffee shop in it, it would make sense since in the original story lingyang we met in the sea of flames .

Honestly sometimes the opinion of few or the local audience have more power over how the story goes even if most of the other players from the rest of the world want otherwise. With the Eng dubbing and all that right now I’m just holding on and hoping things just get better from here on out since I do want to give them my support

I do fear that the reason for the story change was not because it had issues. But just because the playerbase felt like they were criticized since they were self inserting to the rover. Meaning when people were agressive towards the rover, this ruined the power fantasy for the player and made them upset at the waifus. If this is the case I am very dissapointed in the player base for rejecting an interesting plot as well as self reflection.

Nhaa the story in beta 1 was bad. You might get the impression that it was cool because of some scenes, but when you actually see and read all the contextualization is so bad that you realize that these scenes are just for empty shock value. Want an example? Let's take the most famous one, Chixia pointing the gun at the rover after it defeats and absorbs the crownless. Cool, that means they have their guard up about the rover. We arrive in the city and this is practically forgotten, Chixia gives a tour showing the city to rover and then leaves him ALONE in a random place in the city for the rest of the day SHE DOESN'T INTRODUCE HIM TO THE AUTHORITIES, DOESN'T DO A CHECK UP ON HIS BODY SINCE HE HAD ABSORBED THE CROWNLESS AND LEFT HIM ALONE WITHOUT ANY CARE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY...then I ask you what was the point of that dramatic scene? just cause shock but it was empty

This just my guess but If not wrong CBT feedback at same time when GFL2 NTR drama happen. This drama is so big that it tank GFL2 incomes, very likely affecting some company behaviour on how to approach their in game story. Snowbreak even make remark about it and very likely the drama affect KURO decision to where Wuwa story goes

The main issue with the previous CBT story is that plot quickly fell apart as soon the Rover defeated the Crownless, the case of "cool concept in paper, but not in development." Danjin's CBT quest was removed because the audience disliked how her other personality, mental illness is a touchy subject and devs feared to portray that theme wrong. A lot of viewed her a Yandere and her third-person speech tended to throw off a lot of people. And fun fact, a lot of viewers though Yuanwu was a girl. The terrible english translation didn't give him a good impression either. As for Chixia, while I agree the CBT did show another side than happy smiles, pointing a gun at Rover and constantly insulting them while YangYang seemed to be a death's door wasn't a good way to show her character.

Great insights! I still wish that they re-purposed a lot of these cutscenes instead of cutting them out entirely, especially the one cutscene with Chixia. I still don't see why they cut that out.

Yup but they should have added something in its place ..... the world seems empty as there is not enough world bulding. The combat and environment is very cool but its missing that story and soul.

I don't remember seeing Danjin or Calcharo at all at any point in the story or side quests. I found that odd, especially so for the 5 star.

My friend played the CBT1 story (he’s a very lore person) and he said although the start was strong and good the rest was verrryyy forgettable and boring. The new one is a bit better although not the strongest start but after scar it gets good 🤝

I really hope they can course correct and commit to something in the future content, because right now the game is stuck in limbo between being genshin clone and being what it used to be.

aint no way the team just thought "we made this emotional section that was crucial for what would have been random characters in game, and because some CB1 testers said they didnt feel good about it we are gonna cut it" man that danjin backstory in literally a few frames hit hard

just a quick translation, 1:17 crownless says "Have you seen my crown?" and that could maybe evolve into some sort of crownless backstory because he and dreamless look like they could be siblings lol

I have hopes for the game. The scenes that are missing or we think are missing or completely gone are probably rearranged somewhere in the whole plot. In my opinion, with careful implementation and crafting, they could fit somewhere there. Again, it's a speculation. And I hope they pull it off.

I think they went way too far, even from a budget standpoint it's so stupid, now everything just feels forced and unfinished

I read this shit of cbt1 when it came out and even trying to be positive about it was just bad. The one we have now may have a rough transition at the beginning, but at least there is world building, things are more consistent and have nuances an example, do you believe that in the first beta yangyang and rover enter the tacet field and yangyang doesn't comment anything? there is a strange structure on the ground and the environment changes completely thanks to the etheric sea, but yangyang and the rover don't comment on anything, they just ignore it. Rover and Yangyang pass by the dragon statue and Yangyang just says that it is a statue of commemoration and that's it... it was a story that said nothing, when the characters acted, they acted for nothing, when they spoke they didn't add anything. I know that the story of the final version has a lot of exposition, introducing a lot of things at once, etc., but at least the characters demonstrate awareness, there is progression and construction. many cutscenes may not be as impactful as the one in beta1, but they have nuances, they are not empty like cbt1 So dont be fooled by the "cool cutsceness" when you actually read they context they are just empty

It was CBT 1, they could have built up more to it. But what we got was *removed* and *replaced* instead. CBT1 won't ever be final product, so don't judge it as final. What we are talking about is direction. What we got on released was the rewrite (that you want) and it's STILL feels super unfinished. What they should have done was stick to the CBT1 plot and *build up on it.* But instead they threw everything they were working on away and redid everything with limited time. Therefore we get an unfinished, uncohesive story with nonsensable characters and rushed VA work.

@@wits_end. well, the writer has completely changed, you know. At that time there was news on the cn that the writer of cbt 1 was fired before cbt1 even started, because much of what he put in was against the real development that the rest of the team wanted to give, which explains why so many inconsistencies(so yeah is not just about because it was cbt1). the writer changed, now it was someone that kuro games was more familiar with because this writer already worked on pgr making the most iconic chapter "survive lucem" due to her reputation the power given to her was strong in relation to the story it is her who now decides how the story will occur, perhaps the change of writer was what most drastically affected the way the story would follow. Kuro games even intended to only change a few key points in the beta 1 story, but after a general evaluation they saw that it was better to change everything. and you are totally wrong about "oh the incohesable story with nonsesable characters". If you were talking about beta 1 you would be correct. but not here in the final version, despite being very rushed, the characters are not incoherent in terms of their characterization, as well as many of the things that happen have a greater cohesion. It was rushed, but everything is way more cohesive

The very same stranger also has the power to eliminate and absorb a very strong tacet discord, that is not alarming at all. It's a normal occurance right? Then they bring the very same stranger to basically the white house to meet the magistrate before doing ANY identification. That's logical and cohesive. It's ok to have a complete (very powerful) stranger waltz in to talk to the leader of a whole nation. It's ok because Rover's reason is "uhh... I don't remember anything"👀 Do you want me to go further? This all happens within a day lmao. Then ofcourse he gets full access to go anywhere in Huanglong since Sanhua was like aight you have good aura (he didnt do anything yet btw). It takes some major mental gymnastics to be saying this is all "cohesive". Y'know everyone has been shitting on the story right? The rewrite doesn't make sense because no one would think Chixia and Yangyang would act like they did and how the story unfolds is like how a 5 year old would make the plot. "The stranger becomes best friends with the two girls and and and he kills the bad monster and now he meets the president and then he goes out to the world and becomes a hero!" Good for you if you like a plot that a kid can write lmao

I feel like some you can see in the future, it doesn’t need to happen immediately. The scene with the crownless is a bit dramatic. If we’re being honest most people would hype up the crownless more, we don’t know the other characters yet at that point. It just wouldn’t hit its mark or do what it’s supposed to do. It’s also a bit of a problem when a character with no memories beats a literal “threat”, but power can be confusing in stories like this. The thing with the bells I’m unsure about. I don’t think it fits the current version very much. It’s either the bell would ring all the time or some soldiers are perceived much more important. If people are so on edge all the time I think it’s a bit of a problem. I think it’s good people in the city are more happy. It shows Jinhsi is pretty successful, that Rover just helps with tipping things over completely. I have a problem the video is just focused on cutscenes. Cutscenes are great, but if they don’t fit your current story, then there’s no need to keep them

Seriously, I hate it so much how everyone is immediately super trusting of rover. Like, rover is some stranger from nowhere knowing “nothing” and how can someone not be suspicious??? Now is just another harem story As far as I know Danjin’s story was changed because it as based on very stereotypical and sort of problematic ideas of dissociative personality disorder.

I love WuWa and followed its development even from the technical test in CN to all the CBTs. While the latter had some issues, I feel like maintaining the "soul' of the original writing and then teaking things from thereon is far better than rewriting it. What we got is a mediocre and typical narrative. It's not the worst, but it's a burnt potato compared to a steak. I feel like we got the CN testers to blame for this. The devs should never detract from their creative vision unless warranted. And having your waifus getting mad at you, or the world being too dark isn't warranted. I still have hope though, at least now, they're free to go all out since they're able to generate a regenue to recoup the costs.

Ah yes let's tunnel vision on the cutscene alone and use CN players feedback to make argument why CBT1 story was better. The only good cutscene in CBT1 was the Crownless introduction. Everything fell apart after that. The plot practically became stagnant after prologue. Chixia being hostile and a bitch to Rover was not how she was introduced to us prior to CBT1. She was introduced to us as a cheerful and happy girl. CBT1 was clearly not that. After Yangyang made recovery Rover was sent all around Huanglong to do random missions that did not progress the story. Danjin's story was good but her characterization of split personality was poorly portrayed. Awu, now known as Lingyang, had a really awful personality in CBT1. While the release version did not meet expectation to some people, at least what we got now is infinitely better. After all, the new writer is the one who wrote Survival Lucem, the best chapter in PGR. We got to know more about Rover, unlike in CBT1 with the occassional flashbacks. We learned from the Huaxu Academy records that this was not the first time Rover showed up in Huanglong. Aalto also revealed that one time Rover woke up in Black Shores. Rover's huge influence to past events before the game's current timeline explains why every faction is after you. The only CBT1 cut content that I sorely miss is Wasted Metropolis. I hope they put it back in a future expansion.

They probably also made some of these changes to not story lock early boss battles. But yeah, sick cutscenes, and I like some of the richer character details. Definitely feedback to put into the survey

I feel like some of the changes were nice but most of the good shit was with the original story, a good example is danjin though her quest was great I do prefer her new characterization over the yandere style character they did before,give this danjin that story and I'm happy,but unfortunately the other bosses feel so detached from the story and we miss out on such cool scenes like actually seeing encore fight in a cutscene vs scar or scar burning down the village.

I hope that jinzhou isnt alive city, it becomes alive after defeating crownless

so much work has gone to waste cause they were scared that CN didn't liked it, they didn't bother to ask global players if it should be rewritten or not...

For your info: CBT2 story(the current story we have now)esp the part where they rewrote was written by a person who wrote GFL2’s story, which sucked so ass. Due to his horrible writing and lack of time, we got a half baked story. I heard from act5-6 the writer was someone else Btw, that writer is now fired from WuWa right after they got the backlash. Currently they hired a totally different writer and they still are trying to hire more writers.

The biggest downgrade was mskin WuWa a 13+ game rather than a 16+

CBT story wasn't good. It fell apart right after the prologue. That's why it got rewritten. Also the fact that Sci-fi China was presented as an unwelcoming and hostile place. The things which were cut will definitely be added on later on.

CBT1 was not really a good story, in my opinion at least. The scar fight was an edgy clusterf*ck. A few positive cutscenes won’t really save it. Keep in mind danjin’s story is in 1.1 (or after). It’s not that it’s cut out. It was pushed further in future patch. There was also an issue with how her mental illness was characterized. Lingyang got his story quest ahead of her. With Awu becoming Lingyang, the inferno rider quest was bound to change. It’s actually better now as it provides more world building and characterizes the lollo logistics corp. Also, while chixia did show concern for yangyang, she was annoyingly hostile, not the good kind of hostile. Like it’s not good writing for having her call you “dummy with no memories” when you did nothing bad to her. Like you literally follow her two steps when you hear the bell, and she’s already hurling insults. A character being angry for a justified reason is understandable, but being a d*ck cause reasons is not good writing.

While they do need to tone down chixia remark a bit, I do still think its fit her considering she still teenager. Current chixia look like she have same mental age like encore
